I've ruined numerous projects because my burn failed prior to completing. I find this situation extremely interesting in that everyone is thanking Ortur for making a video about how to fix a failed equipment design. This problem does occur with other laser etchers as well and what each of those manufacturers should have done is to provide a wiring harness to each owner along with instructions on how to install it.

Suggestion: by drilling those two holes, why not just put the same size drill bit into the holes when you're ready to align the piece. Then, for added stability, so it doesn't move, you can put a small strip of tape on each end, then remove the drill bits.

This is not a criticism, I think when you do line art like this the words that are on top dominate the image and you loose the line art under, what I feel you need to do is add more depth to the line art by altering the drawing slightly and adding 3d depth in the drawing or if your not a 3d graphic artist then add some shading into the line art objects and give that a try, It just needs a bit more depth to bring whats underneath through a bit more. Otherwise very nice work. I use an Endurance 10 watt which has a lot more power than the Ortur, How are you finding the Ortur? Does is cut well?
