Where are the areas you would NOT go back to and Why? Your truck is beautiful and I love❤ the open spacious layout. The Stealth design is very wise and your security features are very smart. I am Watching from the Philippines. I will implement some of your ideas into my build. My back Deck is similar to yours, but I have 2 barn doors which can be used as Side panels. I have an awning and also a more permanent roof panel. My porch adds another 60 sq. Ft. Thank you sir.
Hi, wonderfull to hear from you all the way from the Philippines! I am delighted you found some useful ideas in the video. I was once told the frame is lighter when the truck box has barn doors rather than the rollup like I have, as the doors themselves keep the frame rigid while driving. I am not sure if that means it could be problematic if you hung a porch swing from the frame. I do not know, but thought it might be worth mentioning. Safe travels.
Hats if to you kind sir I enjoyed this. Happy trails.
What can wash away the sin that mankind (you & I) have committed against a Holy God, that will restore our relationship with our Creator and save us from Hell fire? Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus. _Jesus Christ is Lord, and He's Savior to those who will repent and turn from their ways, to Follow Him.
Thanks anyway.
This is his Dream...He had a fantastic time building this. This was his project not his wife's. He has a right to be so proud. Job well done 😊
Beverly: I never for one moment took any credit for building Harvey -- it's all Eric's work and he most certainly has a right to be proud of it (although by nature he's a humble guy).
If that thing had air conditioning and a TV, I'd live happily in it the rest of my days. Ingenious build!
It does have both, although we never used either one on our trips as yet ~
if I were to convert a box truck of this size, i will do it this way. i will copy the layout, the murphy bed and the back door and porch portion and also the swing. great layout. perfect.
Hi, I am really delighted that you liked the ideas. If you hang the swing you will meet lots of interesting people!
@@DrDuze-se5cx i forgot to mention that dish-drying cabinet above the sink is genius! :)
Best I've seen ❤
Thanks!
NYSE rig I like it
I love Harvey, the cabinetry is stunning 😍 I want you to come to my kitchen in my home and make it as gorgeous 😍
Thanks Mary, I really appreciate your comments. It was a fun project.
Love this. Very smart and well thought out 👍❤😁
Absolutely, awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Ingenuity at its finest.... awesome
Thanks!
Missoula, Montana had a black pin. I live about 60 miles from there. I’m just curious what experience you had? (Don’t worry- I know that there are issues there)
Hi, They had ordinances that made it difficult to find a place to stay. Otherwise it was fine. I think they had a law that prevented Walmart from letting us spend the night. We got there late and ended up in the parking lot of a military memorial and it was the only time we got the dreaded middle of night knock and had to drive over to a local grocery store and tuck in amongst the delivery trucks. It wasn't the town, but we found that some places had more restrictive parking issues. Take care
Stellar job! Inspirational! Thanks for sharing!
Bro rolls up door, has Nantucket French door entry! 😂😂😂
It often surprises folks.
Even with the propane tank hanging in the back, it looks like a commercial vehicle This is a fantastic job, sir I can’t believe the ingenuity that went into creating this
Thanks for the kind words. It was a fun design project.
Very very nicely arranged if you want to live outside you made it very convenient for yourself, and your wife
Thanks Carolyn, it is great vehicle to travel around in or just go out for the weekend when the weather is nice.
Ingenious!!
Now this is the most stealth RV I've seen on the internet so far....100% true stealth. Kudos Dave.
This is brilliant! Eric, you thought of everything! Beautiful, handiwork, amazing and you are just incredible! I love it! Wish I could have something like that.
Thanks so much for the kind words. I am glad you liked it!
Amidst all the "stunning" comments, no one seems to notice there are no windows. What is the point of camping if you're inside a tin box and can't even see the Earth?
We typically back into the view and then use the French doors to enjoy the scenery. We spend most of our time on the back deck as it is really comfortable and so get the full view. The skylight and connection to the cab add more light. When it gets dark, we close up and rely on the cameras to see what is going on around us. The lack of additional windows has not been an issue for us.
I dont even know what to say, wow, something so natural about travel and this combines travel experience with HOME. Home is usually somewhere you return tk after a journey...but home going with you? Every night? So beautiful
absolutely awesome!!
Poor garbage man if the black bag fails.🤣
Between the double bagging and the cat litter, as well as the use of a contractor collection bag there is little chance of any problem. I am very careful to throw away the collection bag in a dumpster where noone has to deal with it.
Don't be dumb because ya jealous
This is such an incredible, well thought out home. Instead of cat litter, consider using pine pellets designed to be used as horse bedding. A 40-pound bag at Tractor Supply Company is $8.00, much cheaper than cat litter. The pine pellets absorb the moisture from feces, making it a dried solid and urine causes the pellets to break down into sawdust and absorb the fluid. No dust, no smell. I use it for my cats and every few days, just dump the entire litter pan in the garbage and start fresh. There's no need to scoop daily.
Thanks I will give that a try.
Build me one please.
This is the best build I’ve ever seen 🤩
Thanks!
One of the most custom builds I've seen to date. Love it all ❤
Genius build, congratulations to you both for building an amazing, comfortable and warm home. Just lovely!
❤the bag toilet and Murphy bed. Enjoy your rig journey.🌞
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing.
😊🎉❤
clever, clever, build
You have certainly spent a lot of hours in design work, and many more in construction. Very well done!
I want to do something exactly like this except I want to use a low pro truck low profile like a moving truck this one is too tall
It is very tall 13' 3" which has its disadvantages. However, it has an eight foor ceiling which is nice, no wheel wells to work around, substantial space under the truck bed for tanks etc. and full size tires which are more efficient. So pros and cons. Good luck with your build.
@@DrDuze-se5cx the other trucks will have the same size box they have smaller wheels and tires and lower suspension I drive a bucket truck from time to time and is very nerve-wracking cities are supposed to be clear of the height but a big rain or a low branch can still crush the bucket or controls
no way that winch is going to get you out of much of anything
Not meant to tow the truck; he wanted it for being able to go down steep hillsides (personally, not the truck), say to a lake or river, and have that mechanical assistance in getting back up the hill. (In several trips, we haven't used it yet!)
@@punzelle ohh ok got it!!
Very nice amazing job. I don’t know if you’re a smoker or an ex smoker. I noticed it seemed like you were having a hard time breathing while you were talking suggestion is Mullen tea helps with your lungs and USA Irish CMOS
Thanks that is very kind of you.
Nice build.
The very BEST conversion-I have ever seen ! Absolutely Brilliant and so very homey! TY for sharing and safe travels, Always! Peace🤩✌
Long showers if we want, in a tiny mobile home/RV home!!! I Love it!!!💜💜💜
This is a brilliant example of design and engineering in a small space. Love it!
Thanks for the kind words!
Amazing, every detail thought out and executed perfectly!
I am glad you enjoyed it!
Eric is very clever. Such wonderful ideas.
Thanks Kristina.
*I LAFFED SO MUCH, WE REALLY NEEDED A LAUGH TRACK HERE. IT'S AKIN TO THE WONDER OF WATCHING WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY FOR THE FIRST TIME. ❤*
Thanks so much, putting it together felt a little like making the chocolate factory.
?
Of all the builds I've seen over the years, THIS IS THE BEST!💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞
Thanks Susan that is very kind of you to say.
Wow, he is brilliant! I love it.
Too kind, thanks.
Wow, you did an amazing job on this. Pretty much all the comforts of home, and so much storage! You're definitely talented and creative! Thanks for sharing!
We started with a list of things that make us comfortable and built from there. I am glad you liked it.
I've always admired mechanically-minded people who see what they want, imagine a plan, grab some tools, and then go about hammering reality into a shape that fits their needs. The type of mind that could engineer complicated cabinetry, wire up cameras and electrical systems, and then dream up something as simple as zip-ties to ease an unpleasant situation. Your 98 year-old dad must be so proud of you!
I enjoyed the process of learning about so many different types of systems. It was a lot of trial and retrial and occasionally try again. 😁
(And his dad was very proud of him)
Commercial box trucks not a great idea for RV's. You must have commercial insurance. I know I have one not cheap.
There is a class of insurance avialable for conversions that is not commercial insurance perhaps lower because of the fewer miles typically driven.
Once converted, as a Rav you should be able to get Rav insurance, rather than commercial. I'm sure the laws differ state to state. 💜💜💜
Your toilet is genius! I'm so copying your idea there!
Thanks! I am not sure if I included the description of how the toilet seat was made so here it is. I unscrewed the seat and cover and switched them so the seat was on top and the solid cover was underneath. Then cut the hole in the cover slightly larger than the seat opening. This lets you hang the bag so the lip is under the seat and does not get soiled. I then added a spring clip made from a piece of steel tension spring from the hardware store. This is attatched to the underside of the seat at the front and clips the two parts of the toilet seat together so the bag does not slip. Good luck with your project!
@@DrDuze-se5cx Thanks for that description, Makes perfect sense. That saves so much money on the fancy toilet systems. I too struggle with cleaning out the toilet. I'm not sure if this system would pass out rules for self-containment here in New Zealand. They are crazy with their rules here.
@@guppynuttynz7729 Perhaps the containment bag being mounted under the truck would make a difference. Not sure, but good luck.
