​​​​​@@ehcar_net I do walk the talk. My favourite car is my amazing Miata ND2 RF G-184 Top Revolution in Red Soul Crystal (great for track-days too). I have other (only Japanese top) cars, leaders of their segments, such as a Suzuki Jimny LCV (a 4x4 that I use for construction sites that need a small offroader for access - some people stupidly believe that an AWD system is all they need, but a mechanical 4x4 is vastly superior). You can use the affordability criteria for the Korean junk or for Ford, but the truth is that the lower acquisition price is tricking shoppers, because their 10-years TCO is bigger than even that for my Lexus UX 250h F Sport plus they are not durable and reliable, so they are a fake good deal. Availability may be a factor too, but not for the good drivers that are organized and start their search for a 'new' car long before they need it. I definitely do not recommend brand new cars, because their depreciation is huge in the first years. My last two cars had only a few months and a few thousand miles with their first owners when I purchased them for more than 30% below MRSP... 5 years after: zero issues and plenty of smiles driving them. Even the (truly) new Miata I bought in the fall of 2019 (taking advantage of an 'end of season' promotion) I negotiated a total of 18%+ discount vs. MRSP and some free features - plus that after 4 months they increased the price by a couple of thousands. What can I say: if there is no excellent deal I am not buying. It is not for nothing I worked in sales most of my life, also training thousands of sales people...

@@ehcar_net Great example of misinformation: "eco-friendliness" EVs are NOT, and never will be, eco-friendly. They are a miners dream. You should look into the lithium ion build of materials and where all those materials come from and then come back here are tell me EXACTLY where the eco-friendly part is? It is entirely dishonest to say that and EVs life starts at the dealership where you purchased it. That is dishonest. By all means own one, but don't call it eco-friendly.

All I know is, my EV costs $2400 less to run per year than my previous ICE. And my home battery saves me another $2800 per year. Who cares about the environment if I can have +$5000 in my pocket per year.

I do cleaning of the IAC Value on my cars interval of every 30k miles/km. Doing that minimized gunk inside throttle body, IAC valve & butterfly valve. Doing this I do not require to reset by removing negative batery cable. I do ATF/CVT fluid change every 30k-40k miles, that is the time I clean the throttle body & IACV too.

Remove positive cable from battery. All you're trying to do is break 12v circuit from PCM/ECU. Removing negative cable comes with the possibility of cable grounding back out to body/frame/engine and completing circuit again. There is zero chance of this happening when positive cable is removed. Remove cable then turn key on to discharge energy.
