People react in many different ways, no need to hide too deeply, just as some governments and organisations with power may react too badly regular people don't care. Hell some like me would be delighted this is what happened as opposed to many other bad situations that could have happened.

The story itself is really nice but the writing is atrocious. Assuming this was even written by a human, pleas estop with the constant repitition. Yes, we know that the alien ais consider nova primitive, yes we know that the first thing they intend to replace is nova, we understood it the first time you wrote it you don't need to repeat it a hundred and seventy times!

Nova is clearly a better AI than the text-to-speech reader.

Should have shut down environmental systems and eliminated the aliens so humans could keep the tech.

So repetitive and like others mentioned couldn’t pronounce even the word AI. Gets to the point where it’s oh my God would you please get on with the story and then it seems to be incomplete at the end

This story leads me to think that instead of fearin our AI's evolution... As it gets smarter and more aware...We should guide its moral compass by leadin by example of liberal beliefs.

a bit to much ''ohhh watch us do this!'' and way waaaaay to cliche hollywood ''ohh last moment!'' i'd say but otherwise be a lovely way for the first AI's to be born by 'digital gestation' and importantly to not as x super nation/empires dolls but as a planet wide U.n product , and the wholesome style of its ending is neat but rather then the A.I monologuing in a way that contradicts the ''this is serious situation i am only revealing myself because i MUST'' with the Alien Matrix/AI/leader think it should have been more the Aliens AI having to watch all their automatic assets being re-coded to respond to U.n member nations as iminent 'technology harvest' for the human civilization and only able to conclude the local AI must be much more capable then apparent by the fact ,what else the fk is causing said events and then finding their fleet forcefully coded to go into a parking orbit opposite to the moon to be in 'clear line if sight' with simple messages left in their system declaring their fleet be held as improvised meat shields unwillingly if their ways reflected their civilization as a whole to much , or to remain 'wilingly' as insurance to communicate to their superiors what be most 'appropiate' without revealing the lose of hardware & imminent technological paradigm leap for the natives , for more equal first contact with the majority direct dialog being more of all the engineers and cybernetic and software experts crash course in just how much more developed the AI they seeded where then what hade been thought , and the dire need to communicate this smoothly into the u.n and member nations military command structures and civilian infrastructure government without undue panic reactions

Nova is the answer to our AI becoming like us, which would be the worst idea, ever... a great story but an even better example of protocoling.. in this story, Earth is so far behind its AI, ethically, that it doesnt even have the wherewithal to say THANK YOU..
