He also snuck over the channel to tour the trenches in ww1. He wanted to see the front line trenches for himself.
"4000? - you need to go and get some more guys..."

Will prince william have the same ceremony ?
"It's good to be the King!😂" (Mel Brooks😂!!!)
At least the world is !and was !inlove with u dianna RIP queen of hearts 💕
And he had a strong, loyal, and supportive wife by his side. Hitler even said that she was the most dangerous woman alive.
I blame Charles' father, James I. Kings were still absolute in Scotland and were not bound by Magna Carta.
This "spare" did well !
Queen Elizabeth the 1st
A good King.
Long gone are the times of progression we are in the age of imagration 😂😂
Actually really shocked that when crowning him as the prince of Wales the queen didn't wear her own crown as this was an extremely Official ceremony
Everyone making the spear verse guns argument. 1, the guns weren't effective at range otherwise the Zulus wouldn't have closed the gap. 2, the hundreds that did close the gap made the rifle irrelevant and turned it into hand to hand combat. The Victor's were lucky and brave not to get swamped by a massive mob of angry Zulus. The Zulus quit when they realised that throwing in human waves was a waste of life. Had they have understood that ammunition doesn't last forever they could have thrown every last man at them like a swam of ants.
The Zulus had more guns than the British. Around 1 in 5 Zulus were armed with a gun of some sort. Just over half of the British casualties at Rorkes Drift were via Zulu gunfire.
Just so we are clear... just over half is 9 men... 9 men were killed by gunfire (muzzle loader or rifle)... the Brits were in a fort. With modern rifles and training... to say over half, while accurate, is misleading to say the least. There were more VCs given out than there were British killed by Zulu gunfire... 11VCs 17 dead, 9 from enemy gunfire... whole Falklands war 255 dead, 2 VCs and man did those 2 men earn it <both were postumous>. But no, this for sure wasn't a political effort to save face as a result of the humiliation of Isandlwana... no, that obvious explanation can in no way possibly be true...
A time when Royal ment something
Edward basically smoked himself to death. Mercifully youngish as he psychologically bullied his family.
Best empire best fighters
Queen Victoria and Prince Albert have 450 living descendants today
Great video
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it 😊
Luckiest day for Britain in the 20th century is when Edward resigned.
When the Brits was the super power the greatest empire that's ever existed in history
Yes.
He succeeded in concealing his preference for Nazis. His family members almost to the last man was for a German victory.!
Queen Elizabeth s son Edward 7was the originator of two world wars
That this Man was King was not only a Blessing to His People, but a Blessing to the Peoples of the Entire Earth. A Truly Great Man.
Winning 26 to 1 with muskets at night time on enemy ground is actually insane
@@soltea7926 hold on there son... first off this was at a British controlled fort (not fortified position an actual 4 walls murder holes and slits fort). second... they were armed with cartridge fireing rifles .303 caliber not muzzel loaders. They were fighting a force that had 80% of them wielding spears and charging a fort armed with the best rifles money could buy at the time... while im not taking anything away from the British with their massive technological, tactical, physical and training advantages. The fight at Rourke's drift saw 17 British dead after a 12h skirmish.
@@erhardtjoubert3455cope harder cupcake 😂
Get your facts straight before opening your cakehole.
And the reasonsv
Mealie bags.
The film portraying this battle is my favourite war film. Ok, the ending is not true (I won’t spoil it if you haven’t seen it), but it’s brilliantly filmed, the battle scenes are gorgeous to watch and , what I love the most, you see the fear on the faces of both sides. Additionally, the film makers avoided depicting the Zulus as demons or savages but as clever, intelligent warriors. A great movie.
Excellent, also a great tennis 🎾 player at Wimbledon?
;))) so, prince albert did come in a can...'a tin can' aka a destroyer! hahahaha! 😊
Great stuff!
Thank you, glad you liked it 😊
Quite a contrast to his big bro
Most certainly
I'm learning that in my history lesson
🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Butter pies 🥧 😋
The Zulu showed respect after that battle as the film show’s us👍
Get back on the ramparts with your mates.
It was 600 dead.
No wonder Queen Elizabeth understood duty. There seem to be the really good people and the slackers in that family. The slackers…the Duke of Windsor, Andrew and Harry. Utterly worthless.
Great video, very interesting. Thanks for your work.
Glad you found it interesting, and thank you for your compliments 😊
brave men but they did have firearms against spears
The Africans hard rifles too.
They had the martini Henry captured from the British.
@@paulbarry9601 i am not suggesting it wasn't a very brave defence of their position but just trying to add some balance. Please don't forgot we invaded a country for no reason other than to extract diamonds that belonged to the indigenous people.
@@notme6465 And bayonets!
@notme6465 No diamonds in Zululand. The British won this war but neither took or even settled in Zululand. It remained Zululand. By the way, the Zulus took that land off others who were there before them. They killed or chased them off.
OUTNUMBERED 26 TO 1, ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU FILL YOUR PANTS
Her death and that of her husband who was also young, is truly a sad and reprehensible tale of power politics. She was only executed because of pressure from Spain and Wyatt's rebellion. Mary I had originally spared their lives as she considered the merely pawns in the game. Their judicial murders, for that is what it was, did nothing to improve Mary's position and despite initial enthusiasm for her, her reign quickly became unpopular. Mary I's life and reign is a tragedy itself.
The Commonwealth / Empire was so fortunate that he became King instead of his brother. History may have taken a different and indeed darker course & outcome. 😢
amazing piece history ,remember see film basic on events,
It's really fascinating to see how much comparisons to the english civil war was used as rhetoric during the American civil war.
Privilege unearned. You think the rn would coddle any ordinary sailor who was so infirm?
You would criticise him if he did not serve. Now you criticise him because he did serve. Pathetic.
@williammahaffy9228 no. I wouldn't. It's his special treatment for the sake of his name that I protest.
Brilliant film
He was a rare modern royal if didanything other that cash checks and wear pompous military gear.
