Merry Christmas and Happy new year from the south side of the lake😊
Thank you! Same to you from the north side!
Good video!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
This is how I learned patience.lol. Lots of hours, weeks of just slowly going back and forth across fields. It was hard when I was a kid, wish I was on one now.
It really is the best. Nothing beats being out in the field
Was this also the plant that my 1959 Rowcrop Cockshutt 550 was built? I was not from Charles City Iowa. There is even less to see at Charles City, But the Floyd County Museum is full of info & documents. Thanks for sharing!
Yes it was, for what is still there it’s amazing to think just how much there would be if it wasn’t torn down. I’m glad you liked it, I wanted to get some video of it incase all of a sudden it’s gone one day
Just like our 1855, Love the Turbo whisle. ( reminds me of the pair of 2-105's on the farm. I do know they are Hercules engines though) Our 1964 1650 Diesel really cackles with it's straight pipe when you fire her up. Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you! I love the way this one sounds. My 1755 really crackled as well when it had the straight pipe
Love them Cockshutts n Oliver's!
If you want to get those wet spots to drain, do what my father did, dig a hole as dip as you can with a post hole digger and drop a piece of dynamite down there to loosen up the soil.
I like that idea, don’t know if the land lord would go for it or not lol
Good job! We find like you corn stalks work better with snow on! Merry Christmas
Yeah they seem too, it was also so dry this fall it’s helping the disc go in better. Merry Christmas to you guys as well!
Beautiful tractor. That series had great lines, fairly simple to work on. We’ve gotten so far away from that. I’d sooner one of these than anything new.
Thank you! The 55 series were great looking tractors. The new stuff has gotten too complicated. We’ve been lucky with our new stuff for the most part but if you need the dealer it’ll get expensive fast
I wish my 8560 had the 3 point hitch like yours does.
It’s a nice option to have, especially if I were to put a ripper or three point tile plow on it. Just wish I had a pto
Again great job! Glad u dodged the snow!
I Have to lend u my Amazone
I wouldn’t mind trying it out
U need a bigger heavier harrow bad lol luv ur vids
Nice tractor I don’t see many cockshutt tractors around here
Thank you, depends on the location how plentiful they are
That 1755 sounds and looks good! I wouldn't mind having one.
Thank you! They’re a great tractor for doing just about every job you need
Looks good again! Will u no till brans into that?
Beans
Thank you! I won’t no till into this, I no till into the stuff I don’t chop because there’s less residue on the ground to go through between the rows
Nice 1755. Great power!
Thank you!
That’s a really nice 1755 I just bought one and it’s a really nice original
Very nice! Thank you. Good originals are getting harder to find
9500 is a great combine despite its not red..lol. Better than anything built new today. Very dry here in NS too. Good fall for harvest but we really need rain.
Yes, I really like it. I bought it because of the similarities to my White 8700. We’ve finally gotten rain now. Likely won’t be able to finish fall tillage
My corn came off at 14% moisture because we haven't had rain in 2 months. Is your corn dry also.
@@mikekahl4745 the driest we had was 19%. The wettest was 22%. We were in a similar boat, but we were only 4-5 weeks with very little if any rain
I've never seen this style of Cockshutt before. Looks like a red Oliver.
Itis
It is
It is
It is, late cockshutts built after 1962 when White bought them out were built by Oliver
Are there spare parts for this cockshutt brand? greetings
It uses same parts as an Oliver 1955
Yeah, I’d say relatively easy to get parts for. Most parts aside from the odd thing are still available through AGCO. Maibach Tractor also does a very good job with keeping parts
@@redironacres OK thanks
@@ethanthopy1996 OK thanks
@@miguelvalenzuelaherrera3457 no problem! I am a tractor fanatic and these still working are a sight to see!
Good job! Very Talented
Thank you! I see you’ve got the field south of town done
@redironacres sent a trailer out to Victoria grain this morning
She sounds sweet.
Thank you!
Glad we live south of the lake!
Good job my friend! We finally got combining beans! Keep up the good work
Very good! Weather slowed you down the last couple days?
We done beans! 50 bushel average. Corn tomorrow
@ very good, what variety did you have planted?
@redironacres dekalb some fields too much population
Britney my daughter going to combine south of BMR in the morning
Nice 2255,we bought one new in 1974, had the 3208 in it and we ran it for a couple years, good tractor.
Very nice! Uncle used to have a 74 White 2255 with the 3208 in it as well
They were some nice looking ears coming into the cornhead.
Thank you!
Nice setup. Love the look and sound of that Red-White 2255, Caterpillar engine I think!
Thank you! Yes, it’s got a 3150 Caterpillar in it
I had a 9500 and 6 row corn head for many years. Good combo.
Yeah, they handle them very well
Ur the man! Us guys down south still doing beans😊
Were you able to get the header going good?
@@redironacres yes working. Beans stalks tough today
Nice video
Thank you
Looks like the corn did good. What kind of market do you have to sell it, feed, export, etc.?
Yeah it’s been looking good so far. I ship mine to one of the local elevators
Nice drill! Have the same one just a little older
Thank you! They work good
Great angles and shots. The cutterbar shots are sweet
Thank you! I was really keeping an eye on it when it was up there
Pretty cool views! Good ol 9500
Thank you! It works good
I wouldn't know how to work flat ground like that.
This is one of my few "flat" fields, but even it has a pretty good ridge across it. Farm i combined after this one has a hill the combine spun out on
Can you tell the difference in germination between driving straight so the counters line up with the disk openers, and when you contor and they don't line up?
This drill pivots in the middle to allow the openers to follow the coulter line. But with that said the openers have enough down pressure to go in without the coulter. Coulters just help cut the residue and work up the soil a little bit
Perfect done beans! Now.i can spread Ricks manure😊
Very good! Corn almost ready?
@redironacres yep heard it was in the mid 20s drying is to expensive lol
Looks like the beans did good.
Looking good! Beans a week out out south here. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, rain has slowed things down
Nice looking crop!
Thank you!
Great harvest.
Thank you!
Red,red,red for a win!!!
Did you win it I know we didn't do very well
Yes we did. You’ll have to put the duals on the 46 again next year
Great tractor to see pulling.
Thanks, it gets attention driving through town
How do they increase the pull as it goes along
The sleds wheels are geared to move the weight box forward over the plate to gradually create more resistance. More weight can be added for the different horsepower tractors classes.
@@mikekahl4745 ok thanks for that
Where are you located?
We have three 8560s,best tractor for the money that I know of!
