My 68 Charger Build
Select photos of the build from thousands that I took during the process. With hindsight, I should have videoed the whole build. The only things I had done for me on this car was the media blasting and engine block machining; everything else was done by me in my garage. I had a local friend help out when I needed an extra set of hands, like installing the vinyl top - thanks to him for that! This build took longer than I planned, really driven by COVID and significant delays waiting for parts.

Mopar 440 Fuel Pump Oil Leak Repair
Переглядів 757 місяців тому
Repairing a fuel pump gasket leak on a 1968 Dodge Charger with a 440. I should note that while the new gasket could have solved my issue, it could also be due to the re-seal of each of the two bolts into the block as they aren't blind, and could have been the source of the leak. Either way, seems like the work has this problem solved.

When I convert this Amazon product to the USA, that product doesn't show up anywhere. I copied and pasted the title and that LED light doesn't show up for the USA.
Hey, are you trying to find the bulb or the headlight housing?
@garageforcerestos The bulbs. When I converted to US on Amazon, i could not find that option. Can you help?
@@garageforcerestos I did find the headlight housing.
@@clintforsythe260 I think this will do it for you; looks to be a newer model. www.amazon.com/SEALIGHT-H4-9003-HB2-Powersports/dp/B0CQYXRC43/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=GAFR5N01ACE4&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.30ktV9ZahP5BlvmvUEfvBmdbdBa1DvaeSzhy5MYEdunrmovvaEjrdXJAPFgTX6CtOsk6g2cxVnOwGnUcJ9jbYYI9U-RNc-WLxDarxiSu6ploZcEG5yacGMfiFVfzn_emFc4ojnJkinZ6WnNL15C3sD-r61EjldHiscofjd0GDcaPLO1080kO8IoIoHRQN4OQBsTqQB96v1JOH6Wn9UOFomA3LFGI-Mhf5VmoRUcusO97QS7Zn7Qx8E9kmUyd1vvZczY6ajZu7mIgXg7CuZ07-btwafvSTz7MH1rKvvpdjEk.WBq0jrifvtpuYWke5ukBtPlDsIXcPnG4-lgluWd8ZIs&dib_tag=se&keywords=SEALIGHT%2B9003%2BH4%2BHB2%2BLED%2BHeadlight%2BBulbs&qid=1724097379&sprefix=sealight%2B9003%2Bh4%2Bhb2%2Bled%2Bheadlight%2Bbulbs%2Caps%2C84&sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1

Right on
Just amazing!
Thank you!!
The 2nd generation Charger is my favorite body style of all time, but especially the 68. Love the front side turn signals and those tail lights. Totally Awesome
Same here!
Beautiful car sir
Thanks man
Please don’t paint it purple…….ahhh! 😞 well at least it’s not pink……
Well they never came in pink in 68 neither did they in plum…. A purple 68 or 69 looks weird to me… his ride… 🤷🏻♂️ good job though…
I know, plum crazy wasn’t available that year, not until 70, but I wanted to build the car my way. Cheers
garageforcerestos You did great, it was a comment I made before the video started, it wasn’t because like others the year of the color available it was I’m not a fan of impacted colors, but you did great because it looks way darker and deeper purple
@@garageforcerestos well I get that that’s y I said his ride and good job but still looks weird 😝😝
She's right some pretty! Nice job!
Thanks!
Is that car available to buy
Sorry, not right now

Thank you!
What a fantastic car you have got there. Great quality of workmanship, you should be very proud of your achievement. That monster of a motor should get down the road at a rapid rate of knots.
Thank you, it was a lot of work, much appreciated! And yeah, that 440 really performed well!
Awesome ride and restoration
Thanks man!
is it a 440 or a 426 hemi v8
440 bored and stroked to 505
What kind of cam do you have in that engine?
Specs in the cam - Xtreme Energy 242/248 hydraulic roller cam (Duration @ .050 (Int.Exh): 242/248, lift (Int.Exh): .549/.544, 110 lobe separation)
This is best sounding charger on UA-cam. I've listened to a lot of chargers and this is the best! Awesome color combo too!
Wow, thank you very much!
Still available and price??
Sorry, not up for sale. Would take a lot of cash to let this one go.
Beautiful '68 Charger. ❤Please check out my 1968 Barracuda fastback powered by a rowdy 512 stroker backed by an A833 4 speed manual. I think you'll approve. 👌
Thanks man. Your cuda sounds hot, love the color!
@@garageforcerestos Thanks.
For sale?
It's not up for sale, but you know what they say!
Price and provenance information? Love the car.
Thank you! You can find out more about the car in the link in the description if you're interested - including the fender tag decode. cheers
I love the idle a nice throaty sound sweet charger!
Thanks man! Come on spring!
Vinyl Top is cool, most for go the vinyl in restoration
I agree, I love the look on these cars! The car never sees rain (unless by accident) so I'm not worried about long-term moisture damage.
So beautiful 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks!!
Saw your comment about a strange noise on a 440 video, I have the same strange noise from mine, did anyone ever find the cause?
Hey, no - chalked it up to normal for the installed valve train - engine has ran without issues since the build. Sorry I couldn't help more.
@@garageforcerestos No worries same with mine, just done want my engine to hide any secrets 😂
How's the 850 do on the stroker ? Do you ever drag it ?
850 works perfect, with any carb, there is some tuning
@@garageforcerestos since I asked that question I have found out that two 850s works even better. Lots of tuning for a tunnel ram
How do you like those trick flow heads? looks like u got an awsome build there.
james myers hey, love the heads so far. Had some initial challenges finding a roller rocker setup that would work but got through that.
Tom Walker awsome, did u go with comp cams roller rockers?440 source? Harland sharp?
Harland Sharp, S70015KE
@@garageforcerestos Hey it's me again lol. What lunati voodoo cam are you running in the cuda? I'm considering trying the Lunati voodoo cam with my 383 big block. I was looking at either the 475/494 lift or the 494/513 lift. I've finally got the ball rolling on this project and want to start buying the parts for the motor.
@@garageforcerestos Also, what gears are you running?
