You really think steam user base reflects world wide totals?? Wow 😊 however I do agree that Xplane 12 feels too much like just a small upgrade of xp11. Not worth a full price of $60 usd. I have do 11 and will deff upgrade to fs20 or 24

Great video. I never imagined watching someone mapping buttons would be so fascinating. Question: does it mess with your brain to be flying with throttle on the left and (I presume) your joystick on the right despite the environment being displayed exactly backwards? I know you can fly right seat on these aircraft but you're sitting left seat and my old brain would expect to flip out... Gonna get this throttle after this video for sure.

You can of course purchase the Standard edition and separate them into two sections for mounting on their desk clamp, you may just need different base plates to accommodate the shorter length (recommended).

The AI in X Plane 12 does a much better job. It still flies very unrealistically but it does it in a very stable manner. When I want to relax I often just take a seat in the back of a 737-800 and let the AI fly me to somewhere nice while I imagine I actually have the money to travel. In fact it does a good enough job that to an untrained passenger they would not notice that its not flying realistically. The landings in the 737 and a330 are very firm though on the MD-80 and the GA aircraft, especially the C172 and the King Air C90, it will do absolute butter landings. I've even had it do a go around and pick a random alternate airport when it wasn't able to put down the Citation X on a short runway in bad weather. You could set a flight plan through the atc and it will go there or you can just pop the aircraft onto a stand and switch it on and it will pick a suitable airport nearby within a few hundred nm. I love it, great way to relax or to have on in the background as a dynamic screensaver that will impress your guests lol. Edit: I forgot to mention that it snaps into any turn, like it gives full aileron deflection to snap into a 30 degree turn but then it holds that turn perfectly and rolls out nice and smooth. So that can give you a bit of a jump scare if your looking at a wing view from the back.

Your'e right what you added at the end ie "personnal preference" and mine is realistic, which means that non of the economy mods i have tried come across as difficult enough to be regarded as realistic,,,eg speeding ,going through a red light, and avoid sleeping all with a fine of 20-30 euro .quid or whatever?, that's nothing like realistic try 10X this amount to actually deter the player from simply ignoring these penaulties at least in rich developed nations like the majority of Western Europe. then with the lower wage per mile of generally between .5 euro to so far for me 6-7 euro/£ per mile....then we get something approaching realism........the whole point of a REALISTIC ie HARD ecomomy mod is that it doesn't hold the players hand...the only consession/compromise i would have is with the crash into vehicle fine, but only because the AI crashes into the player sometimes seemingly intentionally which doesn't happen in real life.. maybe i need an extreme economy mod..p...thx/danke..

I use X-Plane 11, 12, MSFS2020 and MSFS2024. X-Plane is much better than the Asobo Microsoft Simulators. Even if some things look better in MSFS, X-Plane is much better. Here are the main reasons: XP-PROS------------------------------------- Linux, Mac, Windows, running on all systems Everything stored in one place Windows and menu are easy to understand and comfortable Developing Tools very good Description of SDK is detailed and clear to understand Cheap and very good airplane-addons Good performance on PC Nice community XP-Cons--------------------------------------- Some GOOD airplane addons like B787 are missing Scenery sometimes not so pretty Really cheap MSFS-Pros------------------------------------ Some airplanes are very good and included Some sceneries are very good and included Weather, Clouds are nice Expensive simulator Needs a long time to load, especially 2024 A lot of freeware now, but many does not fit to MSFS2024 MSFS-Cons---------------------------------- Needs all registrations, logins, emails must work (X-Box, MS-Store, Windows, email-adress) Spreads Gigabytes of useless duplicated files on the whole Computer Programming on low level, changed ways of developing every time Does only run on windows Depends on windows-updates and is depends full of online services, servers SDK not ready Full of bugs Needs a good computer Annoying menu and sounds. Something has to be wrong with your headset. Sweatspot and clarity are very good. I have absolutely no warpering, try only 90 hz without smartsmothing. Fov is standard. As about the same as pico 4. imagequality is so much better than pico 4, absolutely not compareable.

The small sweet spot can be due to your Pimax settings. I have a Crystal Light and I have a good sweet spot. Smaller than the PICO 4 but clarity is so much better. You can improve the sweet spot by using OpenXR menu.

Please correct me if I am wrong/ Long time simmer 95. MSOBO has bet the farm on AI autogen. Basically the server side scans photogrammetry and creates "math" that is downloaded to client. It is somewhat hybrid photogrammetry/autogen. If a scan is bad it will create artifact. For example, autogen trees on or thru boats, which I have seen. The autogen airports look awful. The autogen trees look good in forested unfamiliar areas, but in local areas where you fly a lot they look fake. Expect lots of weird looking objects and lots of misplaced objects etc. I think handcrafted airports might improve airport operations, but might take awhile. Anyone that has done 3D modelling knows the difference between texture maps and procedural textures. MSobo appears to be trying to create math based(smaller file size) AI procedural textures using NVIDIA AI technology.

I have always used military controls to fly civil planes, both the flight stick and the throttle, I like them because they have many buttons and are more versatile, I've never been interested in yokes or the a320 stick, they're not very practical

I’ve dropped the entire MSFS franchise until ASOBO no longer has anything to do with it. 2020 was terrible and so is this. Just awful!

Might sound like an elementary question, but how do I uninstall MSFS 2024. I'm so frickin mixed up I need to start from scratch but can't find an "uninstall" option.

Try 2024 it is the top sim now. Even the flight physics argument is lost for XP. Fenix is the best aircraft sim combination ever.

They should have NEVER wasted bandwidth on 'library objects' that are used over and over again- trees, cars, airport furniture AND aircraft. They could then focus bandwidth on scenery like in 2020. My 2020 install with Accuseason is VERY comparable to 2024 so although I own both im not seeing the need to use new sim. In fact at the moment I'm using X-Plane 12 with X-Plane map enhancement providing even newer bing images than in msfs 2024!

It’s an arcade version of msfs2020 with slightly better graphics (only if you have nasa WiFi) and badly optimized with lots of bugs and fps drops. And all that for only 100$. Thanks Microsoft.

What are your internet speeds? Your specs should be more than enough recommended a 2080.. I have a 3080 Ryzen 5950 32gb ram and its smooth on high-end in VR and perfect on ultra at 1080p dual monitor set up. I also have 500mbps speeds wired Ethernet

Terrible decision to make this game a “streamed” game rather than a locally installed hard drive game without having to bandwidth stream

The problem is console.. Trying to make this game run on console first and PC second was a huge mistake. Having it so you stream the data because it would be too big for console kids to download was just an awful idea. Hopefully Asobo is forced to change this and just let people download it all.

XP11 if you want a simulation. MSFS if you want to play a game.

LITERALLY the first thing I did when I started MSFS 2024 for the first time was deactivate the ATC and everything that is related to that like assistants, crash damage and stress damage.. btw you crashed on the runway because of missing/faulty elevation data of the airport.. that's why I always turn off the crash damage..

apart from the 737max beeing not a good plane in this sim, how did you manage to get such low frames at the beginning with a system like that? i run a i7-13700KF with a 4090 and 64gig ram and everything runs smooth like butter on ultra.

They said 50mbps was enough, but if you run it on ultra you need at least 200mbps if you want the loading times to be reasonable. in some busy locations it will draw 98 mbps continuously which is my max I upgraded from 90mbps to 480mbps the other day, the difference with loading textures is like night and day.

They should never have made a sequel to the 2020 streaming it from the cloud. Who asked for this? What about people that have a slow connection around the world?
