Sports books expect you to lose. They rig the game so you will. I teach you how to use data analytics to stop being a sucker and start playing a game you can win.
Weight By Hold: A Positive EV Search like No Other - Only at 8rain Station
Hold is the percentage a sports book charges to offer lines on both sides of a bet market. When sports books are more confident in their lines, they lower their hold to encourage more betting. Watch this video to learn how 8rain Station's latest feature uses this to help you find more advantage plays.

"i pissed on the harvard rejection letter" hahahahs so i got wait listed there then rejected. my dad went there, only reason for the wait list consideration, legacy factor.......i streamed last night to the audience of 1! im on my way!!!!!
I would have been on if I could. Next time I'm in!
What are some of the higher up arb percentages have you been seeing live?
I don't do much arbitrage personally. You can join our 8rainDiscord.com community and ask there. There are some folks doing a ton of arbitrage.
one of your best
Thanks, Tucci!
So are you saying I need to sign up for books before I join oddsjam? Or join oddsjam and then sign up for new books?
I'd recommend 8rain Station now, but OddsJam is where I started. You are in charge of your betting -- the order you expand is up to you. It's better to have multiple books but you can certainly start with one.
Great video. Adjustments & adapting is absolutely part of the game. Is there any way you can leave this video up for a while? Too informative to delete it. Thx for all that you do.
Thanks! Hopefully some good comes from it. I am encouraged by how the adjustments seem so far. I will keep this video up until next Wednesday. Definitely one people should watch if they want to know how I've adjusted.
These are so helpful. Thanks for putting out videos and sharing your strategies and thoughts.
Thank you for the kind words! I am glad you find it useful.
I definitely considered cashing out before and during the KC win on Monday. I probably should've, if TB goes for two there, I prob lose the last leg of a 4 leg.
Yeah that's a tough one. To be clear, strategically-driven cash outs may be a good idea, but playing parlays that you know you'll hedge isn't optimal.
player prop is not a easy..what happens when u cant hedge out of yr player prop and it closes early..
I generally don't hedge out of player props. Make plays at volume with CLV and you'll win over time.
@8rainbets sounds like oddsjam
@@mindset3413 There are other top-down betting tools, but none have the analytical power and customizability of 8rain Station.
Isn't the problem that when you post a public bet it might not be picked up by someone on the other end? Maybe I'm misunderstanding things.
The bet that is offered might not be taken. But the price discovery in market maker settings is more efficient than when one entity (the book) is determining all the prices. The price information has great value to us -- but like everything, should be used in context with everything else.
@@8rainbets Thanks! You've got a good channel with so much good info.
@@cur244 Thank you so much!
Im gonna join that shit just to beat the people at the top 🔥🦂💯 Already beat the people on betstamp....... May aswell go conquer whoever the best is over there
Best of luck! Especially since people can delete picks on Pikkit so you never know how honest they are.
@8rainbets damn 😔 Well the people that know me know im legit, I just want to beat anyone from wagertalk, sports memo, or anyone with a sports betting youtube channel that's documenting their picks on there 😌
This was great! Thanks for the content!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the comment!
by the way, really love your "university" videos
Thank you for the kindness! I often worry that those videos are too long and boring, but some of the topics really need deeper dives.
For me they are knowledge, thanks
they neeed to have decimal odds!
That is something we're working on. I promise we'll have decimal odds long before the US converts to metric.

Hey man, I’m kinda new to this in the fact of taking sports betting more seriously instead of casually. I just have one question for you. I see that fliff has a lot of good value on it. So I started by putting in $25 in starting earlier this week and now it’s up to $60. I have read the terms and conditions for it but I guess I’m looking for some clarity on it. It says my redeemable balance is zero. Now in order to withdraw I would have to have at least $75 in there. Would that be correct or am I missing something?
Fliff is known to change the terms, so I am just not sure the answers to your questions. I haven't run into this myself. Maybe someone else who sees this thread will be able to help?
Great video. I think you covered the concepts well for those new to exchanges. Exchanges are significantly better when they have liquidity. Outside the US the only legal exchange worth using is Betfair as it has the liquidity. One issue with most exchanges is the liquidity is low till just before game time. For example in horse racing the liquidity only appears in the last 5-10 mins before each race.
Thanks for the comment and additional context! Good stuff!
My current favorite is @BetOpenly only 1% juice but @PlayProphetX @KuttBet @BettorEdge are also pretty good on fees/juice and have pretty good liquidity✌️
Parlays can really boost your profits , but you need to know how to use it wisely.
Absolutely! Well said!
Where do I go to find out more about the program or the tool
8rainStation.com has info and links to everything.
yea i really like the long videos id love a video about how to manage my bankroll to make sure my positive ev bets actually profit

Forreal! It's just like a data conferece lol
Lol - it really is a bunch of data nerds at the end of the day.
Great video. Its great to see someone stress the importance of needing to research the accuracy of the no-vig odds and the probability. If there is no confidence in that, then your Positive EV play is worthless.
Thanks - I'm glad you found the video helpful!
Learned a lot man thanks!
Happy you got something out of them!
Love the shorts just as much as the long forms and live stream. Will watch whatever you put out there to continue learning as much as possible. 👍🏽
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching them!
Thanks for making them!
I am glad you've enjoyed them!
No worries, love the live streams!
I appreciate it. I actually enjoy the livestreams, so those should continue no matter what other crazy ideas I get.
You need to know the trend of the sharp line, and you need to know who is sharp. For example, Pinnacle isn't as sharp on college football due to limits on that sport for that book. Bookmaker and Circa are much better for college football. However, Pinnacle is very sharp in many other sports.
There's an aspect too of Pinnacle getting international action but lacking US customers. NFL and pro sports are more global than the bazillion college teams.

Hey bro please make detailed video of how to do ev betting please take it as my sincere request bro
I have a bunch of videos covering this already. Just browse the UA-cam channel. youtube.com/@8rainbets
Everyone is trying to sell something in this industry, personally I don’t trust anyone.
That's a good place to start.
What’s your opinion on the Oddsjam accounts on twitter that promote arbitrage (arbfather, arbthief, that Brian guy etc.) Do you think they’re legit or do you think it’s a front
I have seen tweets where they say "you can start arbitrage betting with only $100". Yes, anybody can start with just $100, but they dont tell you that you will need lots of money to keep doing it.
I am not sure of any individual's legitimacy or not. I do wonder about motivations, and what they are trying to sell. I don't understand fame for the sake of attention -- my focus is on selling a software product, which necessitates a certain amount of public-facing activity. If I was making $1k+ every day betting, I'd shut the fuck up, personally.
But isn’t yield a better metric?
Yield is the "units" of value assessment. Return on investment takes into account the actual dollars risked -- and if you really want to get into it, should also factor in the time you've invested in making the bets. Yield can potentially be useful in evaluating a strategy -- but our EV and CLV calculations are more precisely suited to those evaluations.
Is the wash/balt 1qtr over 9.5 an alternate line or is it the current line? I see 10.5 currently
It was close to the main line but I can't recall. Wouldn't be surprising if the line has moved since I recorded it.
@8rainbets thanks for quick reply. I saw 10 on MGM and 10.5 on DK, so, yeah, maybe you have become a line mover!! Thanks for great content. Keep up the good work!
@@mjfm4 Thank you for the kind words! Heaven help us all if I'm moving markets! But thanks for watching the videos - I appreciate it!
You explained nothing. If you wasted your time making this video.
Words are hard for you. I understand.
What are the books you’ve written please?
Dataleadershipbook.com is where you can find the latest, and I am proud of how it really makes the data leadership concepts accessible to a wide audience. The first was similar, but geared more towards a data professional audience. It is no longer in print. It was published in 2019, right before the pandemic. Terrible timing.
It's crazy how much ppl judge sports bettors based on short term variance
The good part is their judging me does nothing to me or for them.
🥱

Thank you for the info. I 've been playing straight Bets. Some people say don't play parlays. Im understanding the math. So Thanks for the info. My friend told me the way to go is Postive EV Betting.
Glad you found it useful! Positive EV betting is definitely an improvement over the ways most casual bettors approach it, and it can put you on a path towards even bigger advantage gambling opportunities! Good luck!
Great video. Love the education.

Great video, Train! ROI is such a misunderstood concept in sports betting and you have really made it make sense by thinking of the ROI being based on every dollar you put into play. I wonder if the amount of one's bankroll used for arbitraging would lead to a different calculation (because of the guaranteed returns)? For example, over the last year, my arb profits have been about 3% of my total dollars made on those bets. However, if I instead think about it in terms of betting, on average, about $1000/day on arbs, then my arb returns are nearly 900%. I should probably raise that average amount per day to achieve the type of compounding you demonstrate, but I often need to harvest my winnings.
Thanks! The return on arbs works the same way. You need to include both sides, as that is the capital you are locking up to get the return. Typically, dollar for dollar, arb returns are going to be lower than +EV plays at risk. But you get much more consistent returns, as long as the books are honoring the bets and you don't end up getting stuck only being able to get one side in too often.
So you're saying your really losing the amount of money you would have won on single bets
On the legs that you were correct on, yes. You "pay" for the parlay by losing your entire bet amount even when you would have been paid on single bets. But you gain downside protection so you don't get slaughtered when you lose all the legs. It's not free, which is what people often fail to realize.
That's pocket Change.
It's amazing how many staggeringly rich people have the time to troll old videos.
wow how insightful I have never heard this take before
I appreciate the comment
