Cool video. I know this is random, but I would be very cautious about modifying or removing the stator on the hand crank siren. I took the stator off and removed the bars in the middle of the ports, and it caused it to blow up and slice my hand. Stay safe!

I wonder if that's the battery backup kicking in? Full disclosure, I have no idea what happens when the mains power gets cut on an AC/DC configuration siren that is actively sounding. But it's an interesting thought.

I think that’s awesome they put the thundermod tone on these. It’s more proper imo as the Vortex/4004’s are closer to thunderbolts than modulators

It's more of a power interruption than anything else but that pitch fluctuation is wild. 0:07 also that slight cut in the audio isnt the siren being cut off for a moment, it's just that the audio was cut off somewhere

For anyone who wants context: This happened just after 5:30 AM on the morning of Tuesday, May 28, 2024. I personally woke up to the power flickering and then the sound of wind and rain, went out to the living room, saw how bad it was, and started filming. I filmed for a good 20 seconds, but about a minute later we got issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning with hazards of 80mph wind gusts, which then was followed by the activation of the Outdoor Warning Sirens in the city of Carrollton. The activation and warning were well too late, as the storm had already been hitting for a couple minutes, and it seems that Carrollton only set the sirens off due to the warning, which makes sense considering the time of day and that there could've been a chance they didn't go off, but schools canceled classes and people were severely delayed after the 90mph winds did damage all across Carrollton and most of it to my apartment. However I dont believe anyone was hurt but the peak winds were 95 - 96 mph in The Colony, and those same winds died down only a little bit before hitting Carrollton. This was basically a bow echo (derecho but a lot smaller).

Please excuse the thumbnail, I wrote Alert and not Attack, also as you can see from a comment below it's not unusually short, but just a 90 second alert which is the new norm for Dallas. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Hey, just so you know, this signal is Attack and 90 seconds is the standard test length in Dallas. They did 3 minutes in 2020/21 but switched back in 2022

I don't hear Thunderbolt 1000/1000T from Dallas. It's been only active sense the year in 2009. In 2010 they had 2001-130's that's installed and it's begin to active those sirens in dallas.

If you turn your volume up all the way at the beginning, you will hear the ambiance of a Thunderbolt 1000/1000T from Dallas. I was in northern Carrollton when I filmed this, so that's just to prove how loud those things really are. Despite them being inactive, there are a few departments out there that still use them lol And yes, i know Farmers Branch has similar sounding sirens, but there is a pretty noticeable discrepancy between Dallas' thunderbolts and some of FB's whelens. In this video you can almost perfectly hear the ambiance of one of the tbolts. I dont know how it was possible to hear it, but yeah.

If yall are wondering about the house and that door closing and opening by itself, there's an explanation to that. This house is my grandparents' house. They moved in to that house almost 40 years ago iirc. While the house is most certainly not haunted despite its age, it is very old, and is slowly collapsing. The room I filmed in at the start is the living room. The walls look like that because they're obviously wood. As for the door, that is the bathroom. It is usually always left open with a lamp on in there. Next to the toilet is a window which has a screen but is always left open for various reasons. Now this wind almost reached peak winds, with the peak winds being 59 mph, and our area only got one mph less. The wind was strong enough to move the door open and shut. While the environment looks ominous and haunted due to the lack of lighting throughout most of the house, I can promise you that this house is most definitely not haunted. I can tell because I have had some paranormal experiences. If you want to, I'll tell you about them. But let's not get off topic here. Anyways, when I shine the flashlight at the bathroom, you can see colored handprints and barely readable text. Well the handprints are just something I did when I was much younger. FYI, I didn't get ahold of some paint and put handprints all over the walls; I was allowed to. As for the text, it's just a "tradition" at this point.

Ya really it might alert ⚠ you and any one close enough to hear it. but its more of a toy so don't expect any one to truly be alerted . who would you expect it to hear it when a dangerous E-F 2-4 tornado is heading in your Path. .
