Having dog allergies while raising a dog is rough. Even a little lick can set off my symptoms. People without allergies are pretty lucky-it’s hard wanting those sweet dog kisses but having to be careful...

All dogs are different, but every dog I know has liked being gently stroked on the head. They like being gently rubbed or scratched behind their ears even more. I think a LOT of it is how the human's other body language and tone of voice comes across when these things are being done. Most dogs also like belly rubs, but they let you know when they want that kind of petting by rolling onto their back.

This is complete BS. My dog intentionally "pets" his own head in order to get me to rub his head...... he absolutely LOVES his head rubs.

I find this really hard to believe. Sometimes I think things like this are posted just to make others think you know what you are claiming is truthful and not just your opinion.

Doesn't this depend on when you start petting them on the head? If you start when they are puppies would they not then be conditioned to understand it as an affection indicator.

Tennis balls are very bad for dogs' teeth. Google it...some of the dyes used in tennis balls are even toxic. The Kong balls are much much better for them and non-toxic!
