Ryde I.O.W Arcadia 2013 1080p
Переглядів 3,3 тис.10 років тому
Filmed whilst on a short break to I.O.W. Nothing planned just on my small camera. A little tour round Arcadia with Richard Booth, the manager of the arcade. Giving a little history of the arcade. Showing some parts that the public don't get to see in a normal arcade. Arcadia is one of the the few arcades that have the older classic games from the 80s and 90s

With thanks to every body at Play Expo 2013, Replay Events and Jamma . Special thanks to Martin the delivery man and all the people who helped set up the Jamma arcade. Finally thanks to all the general public who came and make putting on these events possible. Plus an extra special thanks to the parents who brought kids to the Expo. Many of whom have never seen an arcade like this before or eve...
Does this arcade place still exist
not what you see here just fruities
@@georgethehands oh that’s a Shame
@@meowplushstudios1194 Those games he had in there are to die for he had some real classics in there during its heyday.
Ah man, he looks well happy talking about them old machines. The staff I ever saw didn't give a crap :(
A small arcade at Wooster, Ohio USA had the sit-down version of Missile Command back in 1982 I believe. I loved playing that machine. It was great.
Hey Ant, how's things? It's Ryan from Replay :-D
nice guy Richard, shame he moved out of the larger unit.
£30 fore Wonderboy!
Awesome watch mate!! :D
Love the classic machines there
great inside video with behind the doors ect, I haven't been since 2012, is this place still there?
Jake Michell yes, closing down in a week or so
Josh3756 for good ?
yeah. they are opening a new, much smaller arcade with a few of their most popular machines just down the road
BarcrestArcades do you know what machines are not moving to the new premesis
not sure, will do a video on it when it opens though
I think I played some of those machines in the 80's on holiday. The Ryde arcade was so much bigger back then and there was a wall full of pinball tables. They had a Space Harrier hydraulic cab at the front that was so loud you could hear it on the beach shouting "Welcome to the Fantasy Zone. Get Ready! Auuugh!!!" The area with the stairs I seem to remember had a Party Time pinball underneath it with Vigilante and Op Wolf and, just near the stairs there was the great Tempest. The main arcade had Space Harrier, Outrun, Gauntlet and a walk through section where Space Invaders, Joust, Star Wars, I Robot and Battlezone were, there was even a black & white Sprint cab and a Nintendo clay pigeon shooting cab. There was another area that split off beyond Outrun where they had older cabs like Bombjack and Mikie and then the restaurant arcade which had a Super Mario and Spy Hunter that was so load your ears rang, they also had a Buggy Boy. I think they had everything in that arcade between 1982 and 1989 and I still miss it. Is there anywhere on the Island that has pinball tables now? I haven't been there in 27 years this year and I'd love to return.
last time i went Sandown pier had some pins. They also had a few older arcade machines too. Though that was 2 years ago i can't imagine too much has changed!
Sandown had a HUGE arcade that took up the whole of the seafront when I was there in the 80's they even had one of those fairground shooting ranges with wild west mannequins, there was one which you shot a target on an outhouse door and the door would open to show an old man on the toilet. Also the only place I've ever played the original Street Fighter as an arcade cab.
I would pressume that your talking about the old Hillbilly Moonshine shooting galleries: www.flickr.com/photos/16025290@N07/7741402456/in/faves-61214177@N02/
Yes. The one at Sandown had a load of action targets. Ryde also had some of those early carnival style rifle games (actual objects rather than graphics) I used to love playing one of those that was next to an early Nintendo clay pigeon shooter and Atari's I Robot. The machines should be preserved in some sort of arcade museum.
There's was also a "Zeke's Shack" (old Hillbilly Moonshine shooting galleries) at Shanklin when I used to go as a child in the 80's. Also a cockpit Spy Hunter just inside the entrance and cockpit Star Wars upstairs along with Return Of The Jedi among others.
Sadly i wasnt mentioned in the "top tournament players" . kinda weird really i sent a video to tony topping both roy and jeff @ 1.875million i faded just as i passed both players ..o well..TT'S been a friend to me since 2007 .cool video tho
:) Amazing.
Been there and played all those machines. Great times and happy memory's. Thanks
Well Guys it 2016, and i live here and still open and running fine with all the machines working :-)
tyfue 46 well guys, its now 2017 and this building is now no longer a arcade, they moved to a smaller building up the road :/
Absolutely gutted it has closed. Shouldn't be surprised after seeing how it had changed even since 2005 when I started visiting but still such a shame. I loved this place.
Its just down the road but very small, they kept sega ralley, time crisis 2, pac man 10p pusher, 2p pusher, 2 claw machines, and just loads of fruit machines and 18 area lol
No Outrun, Asteroids or Hard Drivin? Hopefully they'll show up in another arcade - I've seen that happen on several occasions.
Well i dout it as the arcade is full now :(
So sad. I first visited here whilst on holiday in 2005 and continued too until 2015. It was without doubt by far the best arcade on the island but over the years it seemed once something (assumingly) broke down, it was put in the "to be repaired area" and stayed there.
haha now that's cool
Great vid, and thanks for showing my Crystal Castles high score of the night (HAM) in the background at the end :-)
Nice one guys ;)
Great film Anthony.
Vics singing put me off
Nice video mate.
Sounds like you actually look after your machines, not like most arcades!
If any MPU3 or MPS parts available let me know
great stuff, i really enjoyed the video.
Brilliant, many thanks for posting. Didn't get to see this on the day!
Great talk tony , my highlight of the weekend
All to the sounds of Lemmings. Cool.
Thanks a lot for this Anthony, it is superb!
Superb, nicely done Anthony!
I can see me! Part of the Replay LAN team!
Great work Ant, you managed to capture pretty much the entire event hall there!
