The ball on levers is a safety feature. It is so it does not stab you. In many racing disciplines the rules state that you must have it.

Enjoyed the video. I have a 2023 701 riding on very rocky dual tracks with good hills. I see you run very low pressures . Do you have rim locks ? I haven't been brave enough to run that low without rim locks

More followups are that I rode hard with a 890 and even a fast very experienced but cautious 690R rider, and this bike 100% kept up in some cases was faster and more consistent. I have gotten air hundreds of times on this bike and am floored with its performance - specifically the suspension. I actually see pretty much no difference between the 890/901 and this bike other than maybe a little more lower weight placement on the 890s, which I personally don't feel at all. The bike feels balanced and like a dirtbike even when fully gassed, when up (I obviously feel it when lifting it). The only time I notice its size and lack of knobbies is when braking, or when it's fallen over. Generally you need less knobby on bigger bikes when it's dry as the weight adds traction. Cheers!

Yeah, still have mine 19000 miles later and love it still. Fun on and off road but still really heavy when you're hitting the rough stuff.

The ball on the end of your levers, is to stop the lever penetrating your body in a fall. It's a legal requirement in many countries.

I had a 2009 c4500 4x4, one of the last ones that were made. Unfortunately California made it impossible to keep these on the road due to the emissions diesel stuff. I had it for sale at $65,000 with a 12ft flatbed and 6 inch lift kit. The best offer i got was $24,000 so i sold it to someone in Arizona. Then a few years later the DMV said they made a mistake and it can still be registered. Wow too late.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on....
