Beautiful.

I first heard the Pontarddulais Male Voice Choir under unusual circumstances in about 1962-ish when I was a student at Swansea Uni. The Uplands Pub, a popular pub with students, all quiet until a coach-load of the choir dropped in for a drink on the way home. Unbelievable----, the only time I've heard popular songs sung spontaneously and unaccompanied in four male voice parts. That was 62 years ago and I've lived in the US for 60 of those years, but I still remember that evening !! Ymlaen y Bont.

My cousin, David Davies , now passed on , is in the second row. RIP David a true Welsh Man. Beautiful singing.

Perfect beauty is hard to find in this world, but these men have achieved it. I have loved this song these seventy years, this is the best version i've ever heard, certain it is there can be no better. But if only they would sing all three verses!

Fantastic, far and away the best rendering i've heard yet - no fancy showmanship, just plain down-to-earth damn good music! The old,and best, tune for the line "Pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad". And that wonderful clanging piano really make your version perfect. If only you'd sung all three verses!

I used to enjoy your visits to Canada as a young man. We always had 1 or 2 of the members stay with us in Ottawa. When we went to Wales to visit the hospitality was returned. Many of these hymns bring back wonderful memories. God Bless you all.

I first heard a Welsh Male Voice Choir at Capel Dewi when I was 12 years old. Since then I have always been moved to tears by the emotion that Welsh Male choirs have put into their performances. It was Mr Evans of Banc Y Darren who arranged for a local choir to sing for my late mother. I have loved Welsh music ever since. Whenever I listen to a Welsh Male choir I think of her and how I wish she was still here to listen to the music she loved, and I learned to love as a result of that experience. I have loved Wales ever since, and have spent more than 25 years holidaying in Wales. Diolch yn fawr to all those who made my mother and me very welcome and happy. You have no idea how much good you did for us as a family. When I finally go the hymn will be Cwm Rhondda in Welsh.

A joy as ever

I don't know why but despite there being too many voices to thoroughly understand all the words, this is now one of my favorite interpretations.

My wife and I were privileged to attend and listen in to a rehearsal of the choir last year. We are long term friends with Phil* and Sylvia Gill and it was through them that we asked for an invite. One of the most memorable evenings of our life. I assumed we would sit at the back and listen but we were put right at the front. Such power and pure quality. Made me wish I was Welsh and not just a lover of your country. Thank you so much. * Joe Gill's boy!
