You can check your fuel petcock by sucking on the vacuum hose just un hook it from the carburetor and take the fuel line off the petcock if it's working fuel will flow from the petcock when you apply vaccum to the hose
Its not a choke. Its an "enrincher". It basically dumps extra fuel into your engine.
@@benzee1 choke enrichner what's the difference it does the same thing. if you can find the difference between them please let me know thanks for paying attention
Enrincher adds extra fuel. Choke cuts back the oxygen.

Dude im falling asleep.
Maby you should see your doctor I cant do any thing for you my video is on shocks not sleeping disorders
I suspected the chokes on these bikes were a problem. The day after I bought my 1300 in 04 I set the choke like I always have in three other hondas and by the time I got a 1/2 mile up the road the bike was running rough. I misjudged what was going on and set the choke more, by the time I got to work 3 miles later it was barely running. I called the shop and it was taken to honda where they showed me the badly fouled plugs. Of course, it was my fault completely according to them. For the next couple of years, I didn't use the choke at all even through the winter here in Portland yet the plugs would eventually foul. I replaced the carb for another reason and the problem lessened a lot. I'm going to give this a try, thanks for the video.
i would just ignore the ignorant ones verdell they are not worth the energy!
Yea I dunno...I have an 04 1300, has the choke and the airbox is intact. Mine starts right up every time. Don't wanna go down a rabbit hole if I don't have to.
Some have this problem not all if it's good dont fix it .some have a defective choke when you push it in it all the way in it doesn't stay maby get a stronger choke spring .if yours is ok dont worry about it it seems to be certain years 2006 /2005
are these bikes not supposed to have a snappy throttle response? if i roll slowly onto the throttle on mine it runs great but if i snap the throttle fast it has a huge hesitation in it...
Mine is snappy you may need to adjust your carb it may not be getting enough fuel or too much check your plugs if they are bone white you need more fuel if the plugs are black you need less fuel the right mixture should be tan to (dark brown is best try this first check for vaccum leaks /vaccum diaphragm in top of carburetor for pin holes
Check your intake to carb seals tighten as needed also let me know how it goes for you also remove your petcock to check water or rust in the tank or clogged tank filter
@@verdellparentaaawink268 diaphragm inside carb is good... i know im burning too much fuel as its all i can smell when its running... i think the intake to carb seal is good as its as tight as i can get it... the AF screw is 2 turns out... its got factory intake factory jets factory pipes... i did the choke delete like you as well thinking maybe it was getting stuck open a little but no luck... the only thing i can think of left is to hose it down in carb cleaner while running and see if it revs up at any point...
@@angelusmortis3256 you might check the float and float needle sometimes the float needle can get varnish and not seal right or a flake of rust can keep it from shutting the gas off also try setting fuel mixture to 1/12 turns I live at sea level higher altitudes require less fuel ..when you disconnect the choke cable make shure you put the spring back in to push the choke needle in tight ( just disconnect the choke cable at the carburetor and put everything back like it was. disconnecting from the choke knok will not work

question ,i had recently bought a 03 vtx1300 and went through the fluids and when i changed my coolant fluid i had to remover the tank and noticed my fuel valve would not shut of so i will have to replace the petcock but is there any disadvantage of having it stay on all the time??? besides when i need to remove the tamk its a pain trying to cap the petcock! thank you, also previous owner installed the cobra pipes so you think maybe the 200 main and 58 pilot was installed ?? im know it had to be rejeted!
The petcock works by vaccum when the bike is running it let's the fuel flow. when not running the fuel should not flow. You should check the vaccum hose going to the carburetor for any leaks . The jet size 50/200 sounds right for the cobra exhaust I am running a 58/198 later I will change the 198 to a 200 jet size
Ok so my question now is I'm going to do the choke delete asumjng sI allready have the 200 main I will just change pilot to a 58 ,am I correct, thanks for the response usually others don't bother.

At what elevation is this adjustment happening in. I think this was done to the bike I just purchased and it's running super rich at 6000 foot elevation. Here at this elevation we usually lowered the main jet 10% (ish) for optimal performance. Never do we increase the jet size and bypassing the choke is a new concept....? What am I missing? Please educate me! Apologies for my ignorance, been riding fuel injected bikes for the last long time and now just bought an old 2006 vtx1300, back to the carburetor.
The only reason I deleted the choke is because it is a factory defect it leaks when it shouldn't causing it to run rich. I'm at 18' above sea level when i made adjustments and using a larger jet. You can turn your air fuel mixture in 1/2 turn till it gets lighter color on your plugs if you still have the choke push it in as tight as you can get it use a zip tie to hold it their till you make your carburetor adjustment your air fuel mixture will change the color of your plugs black is rich white is lean you want to adjust till the color is tan or a little darker ..adjust ride check the plugs till you get it right then take off the zip tie off the choke if nothing changes your choke is ok if it runs rich you can put the zip tie back on or delete the choke if your plugs are tan or more you shouldn't need choke to start the bike but maby a few shots of fuel from the throttle
Hope you are doing well I'm messaging you because of your videos from 2 years ago on the Honda VTX minus running rich no matter what I do would really like to hear from you and see if all the things you did with the jet kit and getting the air box really did work in the long run thank you for your time
Thank you still running rich delete the choke adjust the carb check the color of the plugs black = rich .white = lean adjust till tan / dark brown using mixture screw
Your so boring 💤 just get on with it stop going over the same thing all the time boring 💤
What are the benefits of the jet kit? Asking as a total noob
More usable power you should use a good hi flow breather and an aftermarket exhaust a good exhaust can run up to 600oo + or -THE AIR FILTER up to 50oo+ the jet kit is around 30oo not counting labor and tuning it's not cheep but when you got a nice sounding pipe's and you can feel the power it's worth it and you can defently feel the change it makes . my bike used to sound like George jetsons car lol before I put a jet kit and exhaust now it sounds and runs like a beast .noob or not thanks for asking _
What's the best place to buy the diaphragm to make sure it is OEM? Thanks for this great video by the way.
Buy from a honda dealer if you can thanks for watching
Does this carburetor have an accelerator pump?

Aon of a biotch😂😂😂 didn't see that coming great vid need aome more like this
my vtx1300 is running rich fouling plugs and has heavy intake straight piped performance exhaust...do all i need too do is rejet it bigger ? if so why is it running rich?
Re jetting will only make it run richer try some new plugs try not to use the choke too much when cranking too avoid flooding if it's still running rich you may need to go up on the jets one number and delete the choke
@verdellparentaaawink268 i got new ngkr plugs so i found out it had 215 main in it so i put 185 back in helped little now plugs still seem black tho
your choke was stuck open!! screwed halfway out
Not screwed out or stuck open thousands have the same problem it is a factory defect if it was screwed open or stuck I would have known I am a professional mechanic and have owned hundreds of carburated cars and motorcycles borne and raised in a family salvage buisness gave me a decent edge over the average mechanic as a mechanic for 45 yrs your guess was my first guess and it was wrong lol
Is it possible to do a cable delete I don't ever need choke and I have a 58 main and 202 pilot jet kit on it.
How does the 202 pilot work for you how is your mid range pull
Yes you can do a cable delete you will probably never need it after installing jets and the choke will never leak and cause plug fouling
I have the talon p with a red dot. I am shooting JSB 20 gr and my range is between 10 and 30 yards. I keep it on #6 power. I am getting on average 40 ft/lbs and 898 ft/sec. Hi, excellent job on filming and explaining everything in such details. I'm new to carb bikes and my 07 VTX 1300 cranks strong but it won't turn over. New spark plugs, cleaned carb, petcock working good, new battery, all fuel and vacuum lines in good shape. On the same day bike ran good before stalling have tried everything but no luck. Can a bad float needle valve cause this problem? Thank you in advance..
Check for spark...check the rubber diafram on the throttle slide..check the accelerator pump..check the intake to carb seals...spray fuel or starting fluid in carb and see if it will start over that will tell you if you have fire at the plugs ...pull a spark plug and see if it is wet that will tell you if it is flooding if it is it could be float needle or float ...check the vaccum hose to the fuel petcock without vaccum it will not deliver fuel to the carb..it could be a lot of things you have to troubleshoot and eliminate posible causes till you figure it out..once the are running right they are one hell of a bike..thanks for watching and commenting
@@verdellparentaaawink268 Hi, Sprayed gas in the carb and bike did start. I once again tested and clean petcock, carburetor but still no fuel going to the carb. Thanks great review. I have two questions. From what I understand AEA was not very reliable in the past but quality control is much improved. Which models or production periods should you avoid? Second question is what do you think of this gun as compared to the guns that have the large air tank under the barrel? Is there any advantage? They are probably more expensive.
The semi automatic seem to have the most problems with the right pellets around 20 / 25 grain seem to work well..the more mechanically inclined you are the better....they are phasing out the older models and offer the select fire models they offer more options and cost more...with these guns it's more operator error due to lack of information and testing by the manufacturer you may get one that works or not but their are a lot of UA-cam videos to guide you
@@verdellparentaaawink268 Thanks. You might want to consider this idea. Since you know these guns mechanically and can repair them, you could make videos of how to repair AEA airguns or how to freshen them up if they’re older. It might draw a large a lot more viewers on your UA-cam channel. One last question, what’s the difference between the AEA HP SS plus as compared to the none plus model? I think you can get the plus in 22 and 25 caliber so all I can see thats different is the tank.
@@surreallife777 I hope this isn't too late if you were considering a purchase. The difference is in barrel length, but also the tank is also bigger on the plus. I chose the HP SS Plus 30 cal. It is semi auto with a 10 inch barrel and a slightly bigger tank. I think the non plus only had an 8 inch barrel.... I also agree with you about the idea of the guy making videos showing the how-to along with discussing the problems.
@@erict3728 Thank you. No I haven’t purchased one yet. I’ve seen some HPSS air guns that have a circular tank air tank. Are these guns the same but more expensive? What’s the advantage of these circular versus the standard air tanks? If you can remove the circular Air tanks after they are empty then you can carry a couple of extra air tanks with you then you don’t need a air pump if this is how they work.
I need the get the Talon now! Wow! My hp ss .25 cal was stolen out of my car last week
I'm sorry to hear some scum bag stole your hp ss they are nice gun ...they do have a serial number and cost over 500oo a felony...to bad you didnt shoot the thief with it...the talon is a great gun for a single shot and never gives a problem but the aea I'm in love with the semi auto they just came out with the aea select fire model model..would love to get one
I’m sure I’m just dumb, but can someone please explain to me what the purpose of disabling the choke is? Could you not just leave it connected and not use it? What’s the gain for actually disassembling it?
My choke is still their it's just disconnected at the choke it shows this in one of my other videos ..the reason its disconnected is fuel leaks past it when its fully connected and pushed in so some are defective...when you disconnect it you need enough fuel to make up for no choke you need a jet kit so it will crank and and run like it has a choke...thanks for your question
