I am finally back. I mean, after the sh*t show this year was, only now I can watch videos about Eurovision. This year I didn't get PED, I got relief. I am still not over about Croatia not winning, I was rooting for them so much, even tho Nemo was my 3rd. It's probably my problem because I get invested in a song so much and I am having hope it will win and I am devastated when it doesn't. But I want to congratulate Nemo, they were amazing. I still remember when I first heard Bambie Thug when they won their national final and they became my favorite instantly(they dropped to my second place after I heard Baby Lasagna's song). And let me tell you, their staging this year blew my mind. I was expecting something spectacular, but I was amazed. Their performance is a masterpiece. And Ukraine, your country was an absolute pleasure and the performance was so damn good. I am still having goosebumps when I hear it. I loved it before and it was my 4th place, but I am loving it more now. And finally, I hate politics and I hate when it's being involved in Eurovision, but after everything that happened this year, I really hope Israel will withdraw for the sake of everyone. Even for their own sake. I am actually glad Romania didn't participate this year. The countries I keep returning to this year are: Croatia, Ireland, Switzerland, Ukraine, France and The Netherlands(even tho I didn't like their song in the beginning).

Your comment on Malta is spot on. And sorry to break it to you, but SMRTV (the Sanmarinese broadcaster) is reportedly considering a withdrawal in 2025. Adding a potential boycott by the Netherlands, we will see 35 countries next year in Switzerland (I can't see any of the absentees returning, except Montenegro maybe). Yes, political voting sucks, which is why juries did more good than harm to the grand final results this year. And I don't think that televoting giants like 'Rim Tim Tagi Dim' or 'Cha Cha Cha' eventually not winning has anything to do with the televoting-only semifinals. I don't believe that juries would have given many points to any of this year's non-qualifiers. My preferred argument for bringing juries back in the semifinals is to encourage countries to send more professional and qualitative entries, because that way they can't rely on entertainment & gimmicks alone to get a decent result. Instead, the reason why the massive televoting favourite did not win overall for 2 consecutive years is simply because we had another overwhelming jury favourite, which was rarely the case before 2023. Sometimes the televoters get their own way (2018, 2021), sometimes the juries (2023-4), sometimes they compromise (2016, 2019). That is how the 50-50 system works. Whether that system is fair is another story...

We should've celebrated maybe arguably the best field in Eurovision in recent years. Joke entries, for lack of another word, were not all jokey, had something to say, and there were hardly any weak songs. If Norway can come last and If you're really bummed after some NQs (AUS, DEN and CZE for me most), you've got a decent field. It was a mess. But as long you're labeled "country name" politics are hard to keep out. Ukraine experiences something that we all empathize with, and Israël is doing things that can't not colour your judgement. Maybe you share a language and culture with a neighboring country, etc. Maybe we should not use country names, but broadcaster names.

I'm sick and tired of Ukraine being devalued at Eurovision after 2022. Ukraine's performance this year was great, the song, the costumes, the effects were all very good. Unlike most of the participants, it was really interesting to watch Ukraine on stage. Until 2022, when the whole world didn't care about Russian aggression, Ukraine was also consistently in the top 3. And now, for some reason, people's opinion is that everyone is voting for Ukraine "not for the performance, but for the country". If everyone doesn't care so much about the performance and votes only for the country, why did Ukraine take 6th place in 2023 and not the top 3 again?

Ireland are number one at the top, man... Ireland had the worst song and one of the worst performances. Instead of a regular song, there was only a sharp transition between styles and screams that made my ears bleed. I had to wait for songs from France or Croatia so that my ears would regenerate.

Just 1 more thing: Before the Show I was in Favour of letting Israel participate, I was hoping they would be a bit thankful that they could still take part. But nope, they just used it as a Propaganda Platform and their Press Delegation harassed other artist. After all this Im kind of done with them and would not mind if they get removed. I usually avoid talking about political stuff (except at Issues where I really fully support 1 side, like with Ukraine). But this topic I will avoid aside from that, its way to complicated and toxic. Amazing video, love to read your comments! :) <3 (I watched your video 2 times, first one for the first impression, the second one while writing this comment xD) Still need some time for my updated ranking, because rn I feel like I'm still too emotional, so here just some of my thoughts: Albania wasn't as bad as I thought, some of the camera work was pretty nice and this song always sounded better live than on studio imo. But understanable NQ and I'm glad this year's qualifiers/non-qualifiers proved a bit that diaspora/neigboor voting isn't enough to suceed in the contest, not even in televote only semi finals. In general I don't want juries back in the semis, we could've missed out on Serbia and Slovenia this year! Also as the semis have smaller viewership it kinda reflects the opinion of the fandom better if it's only televote Help, I didn't notice the sand out of armpits thing 😭 "And he really did something we have never seen before - got disqualified" I shouldn't have laughed as much as I did xD In all seriousness, I don't know exactly what to think of the whole thing, too much is uncertain. Also agree with your comment about the staging and song, don't really get the hype Glad you also liked Spain, the atmosphere yesterday was amazing and I'm glad they didn't come last (no big 5 country in general) I expected way more love for Georgia (also Austria, Malta and Finland), but maybe Europe is growing tired of basic gril bops? (and also obnoxious joke entries?) Would be a great development imo. I need both, and both in the final next time please😭 Aiko came 11th, what a shame, I glad they didn't invite her tho, she would've been booed Pleasantly surprised by France, deserved Top 5 finish, more than Italy last year Armenia has been delivering bangers almost every year and they almost never miss with the staging (this year they make - together with Czechia - the best use of the stage), either them or Czechia are the next first time winners imo I like Mustii's staging, but then again I also liked Sennek's so I'm probably not the right person to judge xD (I liked the contrast of the cheering crowd in the background and her standing there looking completely disconnected, like she was in another world, everyone else hated it tho xD), just Eliot's staging was really terrible imo I think Silvester lacked energy, because he performed right after israel. He didn't go into detail, but he said somewhere that it was a horrible experience to come right after them. During the rehearsal for the final he was also seen runnig of stage in tears apparantly, and I mean there have been several artist reporting that the israeli delegation harassed them and it's definitely something that could fck with you right before you go on stage, would be a shame if it's true :/ In the end I really loved Slovenia's performance and staging, it sort of has the same effect as Georgia 2015, I think they're in my Top 3 now :) Crown the Witch(es)! Nemo is one of the best winners we've had so far! I just hope all the Balkans that were rumoured to return don't pull out now that Croatia hasn't won (Switzerland is quite expensive), but overall this win is really great for the future of the contest Norway was robbed and I hate that I saw it coming, also one of the reasons we don't need juries in the semis, Norway was already borderline and with how low juries placed them in the final (overall I also think the juries felt more professional this year tho), I fear we might have missed out on them otherwise Could not have said it better for Ireland! I woud like the event to be less political too, but if anything it's the ebu that has shown their political side, beginning with israel not being banned for the countless political songs they tried to send and now not facing any consequences after harassing other artists, and imo artists have every right to be angry as letting israel participate actively endangered them and made their experience worse. Also, in the end a lot of songs will always be somewhat political as they reflect the mood of society and I think as the ebu it would be smart to stop pretending like there's nothing politcical about the contest and just listen to the public's view on all those politcal topics (if there's a country where the participation will only cause huge trouble and harm then don't let them participate), otherwise they would also have to let Russia perform. Which would obviously be terrible. Agree about the new voting system being confusing, also the fact that the big 5+ perform in the semis. What I DID like tho was the recap in reverse, they should keep that! I like your list. My favorite from March was Switzerland, even though his outfit was bad and also camera and directing of performance. But the song is amazing and his vocals. Also I agree for Ireland and Norway. So actually those were my 3 favorites.

This year is so brutal. I just have to place songs in my ranking as NQ that I actually really like. I don't think I've ever had anything like that, otherwise there are always enough songs that don't interest me. And on Thursday I hope the most for Megara, they deserve it so much, but it will be very difficult for them to reach the final and for one reason: it is San Marino.
