I love sharing the things I love, be it music, movies, shows, food, whatever. So, this is my venue for that. Right now, I plan to mostly do reviews/reactions with my oldest son. I hope to have other guests as the channel grows.
This is something that's fun for me, I'm not pushing for a certain number of subscribers for some made up deadline. I would certainly love to make a living someday off this channel, that would be a dream come true, but that's not why I'm doing this and I'm perfectly fine with that never happening. I watch and create what I feel like. I won't pander to my audience or chase trends. However, if what I like aligns with what the audience wants...well, that's just convenient lol
I really want to turn people on to the things I love..I really hope you guys check out the stuff you're not familiar with. I have excellent taste in media, trust me lol
P.S. I'm a complete noob at this, please be patient as I work to improve the quality of my videos. Thx!

LRB and jam on toast reaction, does it get any better? Great song and video guys.
H E A D P H O N E S are pretty much required on a first listen to Close To The Edge. Either that or you have to have your home speakers cranked so loud that conversation is impossible. There's so much ear candy packed into it, it has to have your undivided attention, or else the moment is lost, in my opinion. I definitely applaud the effort, Dad, but maybe he'll hear it again in the right circumstances...
I need to check with him and see if he’s ever gone back to listen to Yes. I know has Roundabout in some playlists but Close to the Edge doesn’t work in playlists lol
Absolutely incredible masterpiece of a song and a brilliant reaction 👏
Australian band.
Tnx for posting. Long time LRB fan & this is a classic. Seen many reactions as I have an interest (being Australian) & great to see a home view shared; dad with a love for it & old time vocal, jazz & riff and son patiently supporting :) What comes through is the bond between dad, son & love of music and respect to share.
Love your enthusiasm for this righteous song. Your son needs something a little stronger than pizza to appreciate it tho. Btw, I’ve posted some covers of Journey songs on my channel . . Who’s cryin now, send her my love, lights, mystery mountain . .
I was listening to Abraxas pool again on UA-cam (I no longer have the cd ..ugh lol) and saw this. I wish more people would react to them but they wouldn’t get any views probably lol ..I enjoyed doing reactions but it’s too much work when everything gets blocked lol 🤪
@@Jihavoh777 so I’ve heard. Check out Jamal’s reactions, particularly to Dio 🤘
@@SixStringSteve I’m bad about watching reactions where I don’t know the music. It took me 3 months to finally listen to Ren and now I’m obsessed lol .. Jamal used to be a favorite, lately I’m liking Michael Goyette, Doug Helvering, and charismatic voice.
Maybe you could put your tv in your next-door neighbor's window so the picture wouldn't be so huge.
Can you please react to Georgy Porgy live in 1990? Great vid :)
Figure I'd be the first commenter on this album: I have a CD of this, and it really is an outstanding effort, to the point I don't miss Carlos! Perhaps the reason I'm the first is the fact that album seems to be a real sleeper? Whatever the reason, appreciation to you for featuring this!
I try to get people to listen to it and since no one has heard of them they never want to but I’ve never had someone I’ve shown it to say they don’t like it. I recently got into Azteca, and tried to do a reaction to their first album (it was blocked) ..I like them better than Santana also.
Great work Dad.... he'll appreciate it when he get's a little older....
The kid looks bored, totally uninterested
Finally someone reacts to the Original, full version of the song... By the way the drum kit Michael Shrieve is playing is here in Nashville in the Musicians Hall of Fame... Y'all come see it sometime.
The Mike Shrieve show.
I think it is great to introduce classic prog to a new generation. I will say that when listening to music for the first time, it is REALLY important to just listen, with no interruptions. And don't set it up - no need to talk about what is coming their way, when it was made, etc. Just let them listen and evaluate.
Portnoy remained for the next three albums after Train of Thought; Octavarium (2005), Systematic Chaos (2007), and Black Clouds and Silver Linings (2009). He left in 2010.
Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I intend to do Octavarium next, very soon
Sadly not sure if you're aware Tawny Kitean passed away May 7th of this year. Sad
I was not. Thanks for the info.
music is freedom
You should not react for the first time to Music while driving.. you can't focus on it
These days when I want to listen to new music that’s how I do it whether I’m recording or not. I’ve already listen to Train of Thought a few more times since my reaction. I can’t imagine anyone trying to appreciate DT in a single listen lol
@@Jihavoh777 Yes, their music grow on you after each listen
Little fart at 1:00 lol
Sounded like a wrapper or something. It’s amazing how loud noises are on the iPhone mic. If I ripped one you’d know it for sure lol
@@Jihavoh777 lol anyways, great reaction man!
@@cleversonluizcorreiadesouz5959 thanks, I truly appreciate it
Excellent music!!
Awesome video 😊
You’re biased lol
@@Jihavoh777 lol
Awesome video! Love it!
Thanks, man .. can you tell me why so I can keep it up?
@@Jihavoh777 Driving and listening to music is my favorite thing to do! Love the music too
@@SeanFerree it’s the only way to do it lol
@@Jihavoh777 I agree! Nothing brings me more joy than popping in a good CD for a trip. I like CDs even though they are old school 😁
@@SeanFerree I don’t like the hassle of dealing with CDs lol .. I’m kind of thinking of taking a trip down Route 66 and doing some album reactions. A chill day of driving and music.
Sorry, but this kid clearly (based SOLELY on this video - haven't watched any others) doesn't have an ear for music. When those harmonics hit in the finale I am always blown away. He couldn't stop picking his fingers. Pay attention to Dream Theater. They are one of the most important bands to ever exist and you can learn so much from listening while simultaneously enjoying. I'm glad dad really knows his music, he is badass.
You know, now that you brought it up I need to ask him if he’s listened to Dream Theater since then. I’m always surprised when he tells me what he’s listening to. He was listening to Yes - Roundabout a couple of weeks ago and I didn’t think he was really all that invested when he was listening with me.
@@Jihavoh777 we can only hope he learns the ways of prog to become a master like his father before him!
@@thedaywerevolt hahah
Now that’s a good father.
I think if you guys face the camera and improve the sound quality and maybe use headphones, you'll be very successful. Ah, I see you did change it up, but I still think the sound quality wasn't very good. Sorry you stopped.
A lot has happened in the past year. The boy has been busy with virtual school lately, but I’ve been wanting to get back to reactions. I think I know a lot about music but there’s still stuff I haven’t dived into.. been thinking about starting with Grateful Dead.
Good selection to get the young lad to hear. One of there best they did. It really sounds cool in headphones.
Yeah, we weren’t really equipped for proper listening yet. Still aren’t, we still discuss returning to do reactions lol
Of course Yes is amazing. You have to remember you were probably high when you first heard it.
Lol that’s not my scene, really, but if I ever tried getting high I wouldn’t mind listening to some Yes while doing it lol
Their airport code in Canada, because there is only 1!?
Why live and not the studio recordings?
I think the live ones sound sonically better than the first three studio albums. Plus, I think they’re so amazingly good it shows off they pull the tunes off anytime, anywhere.
based son
Poor kid had to put up with something he can't even relate to LOLOLOL.
Hahaha 😂
70s prog kids like me grew up having patience and relishing details and subtleties. Also the music of the era was often more intricate, complex and like an atmospheric journey bc of of the post psychedelic mindset we experienced. I loved it, like experiencing a long beautiful film or reading a wonderful engaging book.
I love Dream Theater!!!
ok when are you going to get to Pink Floyd
They’re definitely on the To Do list. I really want to do Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here and The Wall in their entirety.. so it’s been hard to get the quiet, uninterrupted time AND get Mr Xbox to sit down for long enough lol 😆
I always like this song and it is cool that they still play it. That said, I like the album version better.
The album version is Nostalgic for me, but I like the modern sound of the live version. Hard to pick a favorite.
Watching it on the TV the fuck
I hated doing that, but I was forcing myself to just start making videos .. I’m still learning, but we’re not watching on the TV anymore thank Christ lol 😆
Son kinda perked up at the halfway mark. I think he'd like heavier stuff. Try "The black dahlia murder - I will return".
I wasn’t sure how he would react to heavier stuff. So I’ve been starting him off easy lol. I might check that one out, I haven’t heard it myself
Son looks very disinterested.
I bought this DVD almost 20 years ago and wore it out. Watched it everyday for weeks.
I’ve only seen the one in Japan when Kevin was with them, and I had the Scenes DVD, forgot the title.
DT has been my favorite band for around 5 years now. They have so much music to digest, never gets old
Can you react Liquid Tension Experiment Rhapsody in Blue live in L.A
I love LTE, but never heard that one.. will for sure do it! Thanks 🙏🏻
Great job! 😊
💕
Please reaction a old man 68 years, make jumping +200.000 personas en Argentina, its brutal video great crow. NUESTRO AMO JUEGA AL ESCLAVO - Indio Solari - Tandil 2016 ua-cam.com/video/NFIxXbGlEM4/v-deo.html Regards
That was a cool song. The audience was crazy! Wow 🤩..I’ll think about doing a reaction of it. Thanks for the suggestion. I enjoyed it
@@Jihavoh777 I am very happy, Indio Solari is today the living history of Argentine Rock. you can react to "jijiji" where you can see "the greatest pogo in the world". This video has 52M views. ua-cam.com/video/5tHNjWdFRUU/v-deo.html Cheer up!
Red spent more time looking back at himself in the monitor, than a 16 year old girl, getting ready for her first date.
Lol 😂 ...I’ll have to go back and watch. Maybe he was keeping an eye on the phone..for now, it’s just propped up against some random object on a flimsy TV tray 🤣🤣
They're still playing it live today. They've had many changes in band members, but I saw them recently in Fort Lauderdale, FL. BTW, I don't think your son liked them and was just saying so for you pop.
He usually tells me if he doesn’t like something. I’m sure he wasn’t crazy about it though lol ..we did Whitesnake - Still of the Night (it was blocked) .. he gave it a 5 ..I think that was a generous thumbs down lol 😆
A buddy and I took our sons to the Snakes and Arrows and Clockwork Angels shows- Needless to say, we were all blown away! RIP Neil Peart I feel bad for anyone not able to have seen them live
I always wanted to see them but it never worked out.. same with Dream Theater, never caught them live.. nowadays I hate concerts ..such a hassle and so costly lol
Jihavoh Yeah, come to think of it, that last Rush show a little over 7 yrs ago was it for me too and I likely will never see a big concert again. You’re really right: Too expensive and too much of a hassle
This album is complex and the level of understanding you have when you hear it for the first time effects whether you instantly fall in love with it and claim it's a Masterpiece as I did when I heard it at 12 in '74, on my older brothers superb quad sound system, or not be prepared, or able to accept the grandeur of YES I'm a dad with a 23 year old Son. I empathize with you. RIP Chris Squire. Play Siberian Khatru from YESSONGS, then Yours Is No Disgrace, and Starship Trooper of course, or ALL of Yessongs would be recommended. Steve Howe is why I have played guitar for 40 years Remember this is just 5 guys!! The solo at the end of Siberian Khatru is EPIC especially Live, It's a Journey
Greatest song ever.
Good dad.
Haha thanks 😂
Great album - Steve and Chris are awesome on this, but poor kid - you really dropped him in the deep side of the pool. Something like roundabout or starship trooper may have been an easier introduction.
Biofilmz I was thinking of trying Rabin era Yes for the next track, maybe Shoot High, Aim Low, or Changes
Just attempted to do a reaction to Roundabout (as well as three others) and somehow had the camera on time lapse instead of video...🙄😡🤬🤣🤣🤣 #EPICFAIL
@@Jihavoh777 ha ha -i'll look forward to them coming out some day!
Biofilmz I posted one on my social accounts (Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook) but just as an example of our failure lol .. I think I’ll redo them with my daughter since they won’t be true reactions with my son a second time lol
