    My engine just went, probably from the shredding of the belt, clogging the oil pickup; or it could have a broken tensioner arm. Low oil pressure and engine knocking. The standard powertrain warranty is 60,000 miles or around the end of July 2024 for me, (Whichever comes first, (July came first) It had 59,700ish miles when it went on September 9th 2024. They came out with an interim engine fix in June so I drove it, before I was not driving it. It is in the shop and looks to be around 5 weeks from now for an engine replacement, but needs to go back in when they receive the part(s)? They are waiting on for the recall. (Expected Q1 2025, recalled Q1 2024). It has the extended warranty that the original owner purchased that lasts until 80,000mi or July 2027, whichever comes first, not sure how that plays out with an engine replacement mileage wise but when it gets close to the mileage or date I am selling and do not plan to get a ford ever again. Probably Honda or Toyota, something reliable like that. We will see.

      I hate to hear that happened to you. Toyotas are one of the most reliable vehicles on the road. But do your research, as they’re starting to see problems as well. I’m asked all the time what vehicles I recommend and I don’t have a good answer. We see a variety of issues from multiple manufacturers in our shop on a weekly basis. Nothing seems to be build well anymore. I wish you the best on your situation and thanks for your comments.

    The White protesters claim "Palestinians" are oppressed, as they believe the West has oppressed and continues with minorities, but this ignores three thousand years of Jewish history on IL land. Violence, like October 7's attacks, they justify as resistance, ignoring Israel's careful targeting of only terrorists, avoiding non-combatants. Such narratives twist reality, potentially justifying atrocities, leading to future violence even against the West, caught in the same rhetoric of oppressors versus the oppressed.

    It’s nothing to do with them unless they want it to be. Zionists choose to allow their Jewishness to be hijacked by an ethnonationalist ideology. The first antiZionsts were Jews. The first Israelis I met were antizionists who’d left permanently to escape a noxious culture. Conflating Zionism with Judaism is the double standard they should scrutinise.

    Many companies market an image that targets the insecurities and vulnerabilities of some men. The difference between the companies, however, is the degree to which they do it. And the difference between men is the degree to which each man falls for it. It stands to reason that the more insecure and needy the man, the more attracted he will be to the image of personal power, ruggedness, strength, toughness, coolness, masculinity, virility, and rebellion that is advertised to him. A man who is represented by who he truly is rather than by an illusion or image of himself is a powerful man, because an illusion or image is not only artificial, it's weak. A powerful man is independent of props, façades, and groups. Some men are attracted to an image to the level that the image becomes a significant part of his identity, and some men lose the ability to clearly distinguish between the image and himself. This is what Harley Davidson counts on. And because the image has become his identity, abandoning the image becomes a kind of death for him, and there's no better way to control a man than by fear of death (and by not letting him realize that you're controlling him). The degree to which some men have reacted to Harley Davidson's recent proposed actions and decisions reveals the degree to which these men have felt threatened, yet these men don't realize the real reason why they feel threatened. I tell ya, Harley Davidson's marketing tactics are absolutely brilliant.

    I'm impressed by Harley Davidson's clever but simple marketing. Since its inception, Harley Davidson has marketed an image that targets the insecurities and vulnerabilities of some men by presenting a product that gives those men the illusion of personal power, strength, toughness, coolness, masculinity, virility, and rebellion. These are primal traits that some men want more of, and Harley Davidson knows how to provide illusions that convince those men to buy Harley Davidson products. Loud pipes, black leather, chains, "interesting" costumes and accessories, tattoos, boots, beards, and beer don't embody greater power, but they give some men the hallucination of it. You will read what real power is later in this post. Harley riders are rolling advertisements to the men whom Harley Davidson marketers want to target, and those marketers have engineered this brilliantly, as explained below. Some Harley riders might believe that the riders, themselves, created the lifestyle, the attitude, and the identity that make up the image, but the image was actually engineered by Harley Davidson, the company that sells the products. Want someone to fall for an idea? Then make them think they came up with the idea themselves. Any sense of individuality or rebellion that Harley riders have is actually conformance to Harley Davidson's marketing plan. Harley Davidson has put its customers exactly where they want them. Riders reactions to Harley products and the engineered image and are what Harley Davidson wants to know, because the marketing team plays off of those reactions to adapt their marketing strategy. "Go Woke, Go Broke?" Remember, Harley Davidson isn't a person, even though the business might have been named after real people. It's a company, and executives at Harley won't be harmed if they are fired or resign or if Harley goes broke. Not only have they already banked their salaries and bonuses, they'll just move to another company. Their success (yes, success) with Harley will still stand in their favor. When a company goes broke, it doesn't mean the executives lose their shirts. When a single person, a board of directors, or other C-suite executives at a company can elicit such a dramatic response from thousands of customers via a decision, action, or other flick of a pen, that's not only success, that's power. When they can cause an uproar without breaking a sweat, that's power. Whom do they have power over? The followers. Genuine strength, power, and identity aren't dependent on an external business or product, and genuine strength, power, and identity stand independently on their own and don't need to be displayed for validation. Have you figured out yet who is really being played here, guys?

    The funny thing is most shops use the same "quality" parts (you buy as a consumer) at autozone, oreillys, etc. They just add the, minimum, 20% upcharge to go along with the $125+/hour labor rate. Yes, they warranty THEIR parts, but not yours even if they're from the same supplier... mind you it's not the techs fault, it's management stealing your money...

      @randyjustus I get the jist, but that question gets really old. I'm not someone who compares auto parts to food, so it's apples to oranges imho. • @Kingswood7189
      @Kingswood7189 23 дні тому

      @Charlie-dv7ev educate me, cause last I checked, that's what the hourly labor rate was for. It doesn't make any reasonable sense to upcharge a part for reason of service beyond the labor rate youre already being charged, especially if you could have bought the part yourself from the same supplier. That said, if it's a specialty item or something that's out of the customers reach, I'd probably consider it the price of convenience. I can't just buy a new keyfob and program it myself, so if there's an upcharge on that keyfob, it's not something necessarily readily available to me (and yes i paid $4xx for a new keyfob, cause i didnt have the capabilities to do it).

    • @Charlie-dv7ev
      @Charlie-dv7ev 23 дні тому

      @@Kingswood7189 Last I checked, you don't own a shop. The labor rate alone will not cover overhead. Shops get their necessary profits from labor AND parts sales. It cost a ton of money to operate a full scale repair shop with top talent the demands top pay.

    Their implementation of the DEI approach has undoubtedly been followed by hiring these soft populations. The result? A bastardization of what was once a lineup any true American would have been proud to own. The 1%er shift, should it occur, will be the most impactful as the true red-blooded American rider will follow suit.

    One thing I can say about HD...like everything else in America...if this is America...HD is fucked-up. After all, HD stock has gone down every year since 2014. It's a loser. No controversy about that. Just think...citizens are responsible for the condition of a country. Majority of America citizens must be fucked-up. After over 6 decades of riding my last purchase was in 2009 for a new Heritage Softail. Still ride it, still like it more than any I've owned. During all the years I never give a shit about the companies nor the riders or their opinions about a damn thing. My money, my ride and I'll decide the roads I ride and who I ride them with. No controversy about any of that either.

    What the hell happened to us? People are so thin skinned its crazy. Who cares what these companies do? If I like the taste of a beer I'm going to drink it. If I like a bike I'm going to ride it. You are not the brand, the brand is the product. My issue with Harley is that the bikes got ugly and WAY overpriced. 20 years ago nobody knew who the hell ran Harley or what a board of directors even was. Buy an old bike, support local shops, mind your own business, don't be a pussy and think for yourself.

      Speaking of reality, I'm impressed by Harley Davidson's clever but simple marketing.

    There is no controversy. Old-school middle-class Harley riders are on their way out. Upper class, six-digit professionals are on their way in. Harley Davidson is now a boutique motorcycle company. Keep your blue Jeans, T-shirts, price-bickering, foul mouthed butts off of Harley Davidson property. We want the place presentable for customers who actually have money.

      This is what I think is happening too. Its a familiar business model. They have been trying it with Jeep for years. Used to be Jeep as a brand made cheap affordable suv and jeeps. Now they want us to think of them as a luxury brand like Mercedes. The wagoneer is over 110k! They make a much bigger margin on these overpriced"luxury" vehicles. Problem is, they arent a luxury company, and neither is Harley. Both companies have priced themselves out of middle class budgets, where most of there buying audience is. They dont want us anymore, but thats an issue they will fix or they wont, sink or swim. Well said man.
