Please tell me at which point did the Church of the East accepted Nicene Council??? i have heard some people say that Early Church of the East was not Trinitarian in nature, especially related to Islam topic.

The Assyrian Church of the East traditionally adheres to the Nicene Creed formulated in AD 325 at the First Council of Nicaea. The church, however, had a distinct theological and administrative path from the Roman and Byzantine churches. After the Council of Ephesus in AD 431, the Church of the East, centered in the Sassanian Empire, became increasingly isolated from the Western Church. Despite this, it continued to embrace the Nicene Creed in a manner consistent with its theological traditions, particularly its distinct Christology, which emphasises the disunion (rather than confusion) between the divine and human natures of Christ. In modern times, dialogue has reaffirmed that the Assyrian Church of the East upholds the Nicene Creed in line with traditional Christological definitions while maintaining its unique theological expressions.

@@jacobmathew710 Thank you for your question! It’s true that there are many misconceptions regarding the early beliefs of the Church of the East, especially due to its distinct theological expressions. 1. Early Documents and Beliefs: The Church of the East has writings dating back to early church fathers, such as the writings of Aphrahat (known as “the Persian Sage”) and Saint Ephrem the Syrian, both of whom upheld Trinitarian beliefs and the divinity of Christ. These documents show the Church’s adherence to foundational Christian doctrines, including belief in the Trinity. The association with figures like Paul of Samosata, who denied the divinity of Christ, is likely a misunderstanding. Paul of Samosata’s views were not adopted by the Church of the East, which instead embraced Nicene Trinitarianism, though expressed in ways unique to its theological heritage. 2. Influence on Early Islam: It’s often suggested that Islam was influenced by various Christian and Jewish sects, including the Church of the East. However, while the Church of the East was present and active across the Middle East and Persia during the rise of Islam, it maintained distinct theological beliefs and practices. While some theological ideas may have been observed or adapted by early Islamic thinkers, the Church of the East did not view Islam as an offshoot or heretical form of Christianity; rather, it saw it as a separate faith. 3. Sources to Learn More: For a deeper understanding, I recommend “The Ecclesiastical History of the Church of the East” by Mar Eshai Shimun and “A History of Christianity in Asia” by Samuel Hugh Moffett. These works provide insights into the church’s early theological development and its interactions with surrounding religions, including Islam. I hope this helps clarify the early beliefs of the Church of the East and dispels some common misconceptions about its doctrinal history.

@@Santosh.336 you're either ignorant, or you are a lier and a snake like your father the devil. Abraham was already married to Sarah when God spoke to him to leave the land of haran. I normally reply to people with love and respect, but when someone like you comes along it upsets me. It's 2024 and our church has done a marvelous job at teaching the Bible to our nation and then you come crawling out of your hole. Jesus also said: As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. The other sheep are everyone that is not a Jew who accepts Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. Also there is nothing wrong with Abraham wanting a suitable wife and someone from the family for his son Isaac, and not a Canaanite woman that worshipped other gods. God was happy for Issac to have Rebecca, because if God didn't approve it, He wouldn't of fulfill the servant's proposal sign, the servant that Abraham sent to find a wife for his son. Also Deuteronomy 7:3 states Nor shall you make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to their son, nor take their daughter for your son. Let's use you as a perfect example: the way you conduct yourself, it looks like if you have a daughter, you would want a husband for her who is an atheist or who practices other religions anything but a Christian. I pray that God will soften your heart and accept the true God Jesus Christ and His teachings which the Assyrian Church of the East is teaching for 2024 years.
