I just got home from camping for a week at Horseneck Beach campground. The electricity is nice to have, but the privacy you had before is gone with all the campers at an angle. Some sites have a good amount of space but the waterfront sites are very small. Believe it or not, most of the campers on the waterfront are in tents, truck campers or smaller sized class C's or travel trailers. Only a couple of the big Class A RVs squeezed into sites on the dune side of the waterfront. A good many of the sites are small and cannot fit a large size RV. In my opinion they should have left the waterfront as it was, since there is no electricity there and generators cannot be used at all. There was no need to reconfigure the waterfront sites on both sides of the road. Still getting used to the one-way streets. The visitors parking lot is all roped off so walking your dog there is a bit of a challenge. They left a pile of old picnic tables in the back of the bushes next to the basketball court so you can't even walk your dog back there. There are only three trash dumpsters in the campground other than the one when you first drive in. Two are in the dumping station and one is at the very back of the visitors lot. All the big RVs are going to the sites on the lower roads where the electricity is, so it looks kind of crowded. They tell you not to park on the vegetation, but there isn't any right now; just dirt. I suppose the weeds will eventually grow and then you won't be able to park in those areas. The waterfront is all fenced and roped off so you can only get down to the beach through 3 or 4 paths that have the blue plastic walkways on them. The basketball court is brand new and looks great. Also, the grassy area right next to the basketball court is now all sand for volleyball or whatever. The fixtures where you hook up your electricity have a light on the top that goes on at night. It looks pretty when you look down the street; it's as though everyone has a nightlight. All in all, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. There is one good thing about it (the electricity) and several not so good things (loss of privacy, smaller sites, visitors lot roped off, no additional water spigots). Will I still camp there? Absolutely! I've been going there for about 45 years, ever since the second year it opened when it cost only $2.00 a night. It's one of my favorite places to be. Maybe next time the state makes improvements they'll improve the rest rooms. They really need it.

Would that be a striped bass or what we call a Rock Fish in MD. I use to fish for them in the Chesapeake Bay but only got Bluefish.
