What product is this? I’m from Florida and just moved to East Tennessee and need to treat my truck
Used oil works great
Rick Fennel Undercoating. ducarlecom.bigcartel.com/
I used to do that in the past. I just find this stuff holds up longer with less maintenance year to year.
@@trevorober2384 i wouldnt use flat oil though, id mix it with sand or something
@@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 used oil and adysty road is what I do
Wow! Never seen an old Chevy or GMC pickup with out rust up to the windshield and gas tank dragging in the northeast.! The 1990’s usually dissolve after ten years.😅
@@billbenetz9022 to be fair, I rebuilt the cab 2 years ago but holding up well because of the maintenance.
Good Job 👍🏻

@@BlakWiseCracker thanks!
Where did u get them or did u make them
Made those from 16 gauge sheet metal I had. I think I even used 14 gauge too but ya all hand made.
Great short ur video helped me with a hard screw from my truck that didn't wanted to come out I bought a grinder from home Depot and i did exactly how u did in ur video took me a while but it worked finally screw came out thanks 😊😊
Nice, I’m glad it helped. Thanks for checking it out.
@FullRange4x4 yeah didn't know how to grind but am learning little by little thanks to ur video finally cut the screw I had for a while thanks again 😊 👍🏻
Would this work for 8-10" scooter tires?
I’m not sure, the tractor tire was 10” I think?
Ive had one of those lil "Fakita" grinders for a few years, and beat the crap out of it. It just keeps going 😂 Filing cabinets are a great way to get free/cheap sheet metal. Youll feel pride at the end knowing you built it, instead of buying the cab
Ya, that grinder works pretty well. I have gone through a few cabinets over the years for projects. Even used my old breaker panel for the squarebody. Ya, I enjoy saving these rigs as I come across them. If I didn’t take this truck it was going to the scrap yard.
I gotta do this soon🙃might soak mine in oil for a couple days beforehand though
I never tried soaking in oil or penetrant. If it’s really rusty I would but nothing a hammer & socket couldn’t fix.
@ hell yea dude🤣 I just bought a 79 dodge w150 and im thinking about posting some videos on it. Front left wheel bearing is also bad so im hoping the stubby shaft doesn’t have grooves on it
@@jaxon.frandrupnice. Post em, never know who you can help or if you need to look back on it for something. Ya, hopefully no grooves but I will days I definitely ran my squarebody like that without issues for a couple years till I sold it. Good luck.
I have a 90 k1500 just rebuilt my drums and i had hell with the break cable..the springs are much smaller than this and i didnt have a drum break spring compressor kit..i was fighting it with needle nose vice grips and a flat head screw driver...after watching informative videos on youtube they did the break cable last and i did as well..my brother mentioned to do the break cable first and use the tool kit for the springs..he has a old bronco..so im gona try that i still have 1 more side to go
It’s been a while since doing the break cables on a drum set up but ya, I do agree doing it first. Thinking about it, it makes sense since the drum shoes and hardware sit in front of the brake cable stuff. I have a 79 F150, I’ll have to make a video assembling the drum set up on the rear axle. Also, before I had a drum brake tool I only ever had done it with needle nose pliers and a flat head screw driver so you should be good either way.
Did the check engine light go off right away? Or after a couple of cycles
Pretty much right away for me.
@how high does your oil temp typically usually reach? At ideal mine goes up all the way till 220-223. Is that normal?
@@YeezyVickmine did as well. I believe that is normal but I would double check. I actually do not have that Jeep any more but I’ll check the new one we have.
@@FullRange4x4 thank u so much . I changed thermostat yesterday but the engine lights still on. Hoping it’ll reset on its own.
Nvm. Check engine light just went off! Thanks for your video and your replies!
What hight is it?
8’ walls, the peak is 10’ something, I forget.
where did you get your replacement pump. i have same problem but cant find replacent. can u help me ?
@@kurtparker6587 I got mine from homedepot. Actually showed up when googled. Not sure if you have the same but here is the link to the one I used: www.homedepot.com/p/Twin-Cylinder-Oil-Lubricated-Belt-Drive-Aluminum-In-Line-Air-Compressor-Pump-040-0430/203350087
So did this fix the issue ? Interesting i wonder if this is my issue is old rubber lines by the axle
@@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 yes, this did fix the issue 100%. I have experience the same on a truck & wrangler I had.
So how much did you oay for this and why did you buy something in complete peices versus something whole ? Like you saw my Jeep J10 truck.. i got for $800 and you know how bad mine was.. but it was (complete) well minus 40% of it being rotten thag i had to fix. I bought it in its rotten state because i couldnt afford the $4-10k ones. And even those would be rotten maybe not too this extent but still bad. Like you i am broke asf.. But it all worked out in the end. Even i though would be weary of one in tital dissaessembly Jiat curious how you ended up with it. Is it a rare model you cant find or ?
@@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 this was my brother’s truck he got for free from a farm sitting for years. He disassembled it and life changed, offered it to me for free or he would scrap it. I couldn’t let it get scrapped. At the time I also had a 77 GMC I was working on/driving so I was not looking for a project. I am ok with the reassembling the truck piece by piece since that’s how the GMC was a one point. Plus I know everything good & bad lol. Life happened as usual so I really don’t have a budget. I am just trying to do what I can with what I have as I have time. I hoping to get the personal stuff figured out soon so I can accomplish more.
@FullRange4x4 same as me do what i can with supplies i have. Was just curious how you got it
@ yes sir, no problem at all.
Do you have the rest of the vehicle ?. Not sure ive seen it ? Bed frame axles engine etc ,
Yes, I do actually. The bed is gone because it’s rotted but that’s about the only things missing. I do have the motor now. This is the introduction to the truck. Ford F150 Project. Introduction. ua-cam.com/video/gkiN9O6G0Yc/v-deo.html
nope they are redundant in my eyes. just hold it up there with a couple magnets or a jack and wood it’s sheet metal you can bend it and fit it with your hand
@@NcikTrunbull-v1q that is what I would normally do.
My shop has a chimney installed by the guy from the 70/80s. Tile line cinterblick chimney.. for a wood stove. But.. the walls of the shop are litterally touching it. The framing etc. Im sure with the tile and blocks itll be fine as i can go outside ny house and touch the bare tile from my stove and its just semi warm But still im not sure if its a good idea to use it lol. Just what i need to burn down a 100x50 foot 70 year old oak barn.. and my shop I need to call some chimney inspection company and ask them. Odd thing is it was never used. The tile is clean so its veey weird
That would be pretty nice to use, chimney inspection is the way to go in my opinion. I’m not sure what I’ll do for sustainable heat just yet.
@FullRange4x4 get a stove. Cut a hole in your roof add a flue pipe. And since your ground is gravel you dont have to do anything special to it. They sell nice little wood stoves in tractor supply
@@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 my only problem I don't have any budget for it. The heat situation will have to wait till next fall is my guess.
@FullRange4x4 heat master barrel stove is $117
That that fucking sucks. If you cabt get it from the ceiling inside. I would tack weld a bearing puller or get a dent puller something like that on it. Pull it out and bondo paint smooth. Did it kink the cabin though is the question.. do the doors close ?
@@jeepsblackpowderandlights4305 ya, my brother got a nice dent puller I will try when I get to this area for repairs.

The body cart is essential 💯🛻
@@ScottysVise about 5 mins before this video, the cart broke, the cab rolled off it, and I didn’t get it on camera.

@@JesusIsGodfr thanks! Will do!
Real Pro Tip- Never use undercoating. Get Rust-Oleum Epoxy Mastic (DTM) in whatever color you like (smallest amount is 2 gallons total but you can mix small amounts) and coat both sides of the metal. This stuff is as tough as powder coating and will seal out oxygen to prevent rust for a lifetime. To coat the inside of a cross member after welding, turn the bed up on one side, put a rod or handle in from the top, attach a rag to the other end that will loosely seal and pour some epoxy mastic in from the top side of the cross member. As you pull the rag up the interior will be coated. This stuff is the ultimate rustproof but only goes on with a roller or high pressure sprayer. I use a roller.
Good stuff. Thanks for sharing the tip.
Nice job! You gonna add a hinge in the middle?
@@ScottysVise thank you, yes, I still have to finish the hardware end of it but pretty happy with it so far.
27:13 I hope your block wall there is core-filled, so that whatever anchors you put in there will get a good grab. Thanks for the video, I'm putting up a much smaller 12x12 x 8'H Versatube in a few weeks. I'm gonna run my roof metal "vertical" style over purlins, which should give better snow load capacity, from what I've read.
@@terebrate they are not core filled. I still haven’t done that yet. This one is much heavier and does better with wind. Thanks for the advice though and checking out the video. Yes, I heard the same about the vertical style as well. I’m in western PA and it’s been years since we have had a good amount of snow. We will see.
@@FullRange4x4 I've done a lot of building stuff, and masonry, and am accustomed to imagining/evaluating "what could go wrong" or be pulled-apart if enough force is applied. Looking good tho, carry on.
