This is our drive to the bottom of the Grand Canyon via Diamond Creek Road beginning in Peach Springs, AZ. This was an incredible journey and my video skills do not do this place justice…if you can get here you absolutely should make visiting here a top priority.
Getting an extra 2+ gallons of gas in a Jeep Gladiator | Overland Build
Переглядів 993 місяці тому
Recently discovered on a 8k mile road trip in the gladiator that you can get 2-3.5 extra gallons of gas in the truck after you get the first “click” at the pump. This is achieved by slowly nursing it in and letting the bubbles evaporate, also you’ll need to rock the truck as well to help it settle….the gladiator gas tank is on the passengers side, but the fill port is on the drivers side leavin...

Thanks. It is very helpful. We are a family of 8 who is seeing most of the contiguous US NPs before our kids are 18. We’ve done all the ones in drivable range and now we are hitting the west coast by flying. Due to our large family size, we need to not pay for extra baggage. My kids would also die if I tried putting them in a mummy sleeping bag. This is perfect, especially zipping two together for little ones against a parent on colder nights (we did this with our massive Teton zero degree bags in Yellowstone). I’ve saved this bag in my favorites. Now to find it used or on sale.
Hey that’s a great plan! We just finished 3 weeks and 12 parks using these bags and it was perfect. We had some 25 degree nights and survived with these and a large comforter/blanket lol… I’d say now after about 50 nights in it that it’s a solid 30-35 degree bag before you need to start supplementing. Packs down incredibly small so it would be good for your purposes.
@@AllAdventuresGreatAndSmall that’s good to know because I backed out again from buying them after reading some reviews that they couldn’t handle anything under 50*. Obviously, we use base layers and hats too.
@@nicolemyers4584 that’s good intel - there’s 3 of us in a relatively small roof top tent with a good base layer/mattess so there’s a good bit of heat right there. My wife was cold some nights in the 40’s and I was fine. Extra blanket in the coldest nights made it doable, but I think the other reviews are probably accurate, if you are using this solely and without a good mattress/base layer it’s probably not warm enough 40 and below.
I never want another knife with serrations on it again. I just ordered one with aluminum scales and m4 blade.
the net hanging from top of smart cap ….. is that home made or a specific product purchase?
Nothing specific, just a generic cargo net on Amazon, I did get a few sizes and ended up with a smaller one than I first thought so it would hold everything tight….
@@AllAdventuresGreatAndSmall thanks for sharing
That's a really cool knife
Thanks!
Hey man great build. I'm currently building a very similar setup in my Gladiator based on what I can find on facebook marketplace. Found an RSI Smartcap for cheap, has the glass slides which isn't great but I paid about half. Got a used frontrunner bed slide. Saw a Nomad Kitchen 2 weeks ago and on a whim bought it so that changed the whole plan and now I've got something like this. They're not as nice as they seem online, it's black paint not bedliner and they don't sand it so the cut sides are rough. I'm planning to take it apart and rebuild it, as well as replace the slides as they put a detent that stops it halfway on each part which is just annoying to close. Before I got the cargo slide, I'd been looking at buying the amazon kitchen you got; you can replace the pop out sink with a good stainless steel like Nomad has, they're cheap and will easily go into the opening on this one. I also have the same Yeti king crab boxes and dometic jug/faucet. However, I'm planning to integrate Toughbuilt stacktech into the bed as drawers.
This is great, thanks for sharing your ideas and work! We’re just wrapping up a total of 6 weeks in the truck on the road and I’m planning some revisions based on our experience…it’s a journey!
Excellent video! In part because of your clear explanation, I chose this exact colorway for my new Bugout.
Glad I could help! Thanks for your comment!
The scenery is just amazingly beautiful! ❤
It really is!
Well organized ! ! Just got a Mojave ! I'll work all my life to have a setup like yours 🙏🏼 lol .
lol it’s a journey. You’ll end up with something unique that fits your needs. It’s the fun of building these things!
Just bought this 20 degree bag and the super nova 40 for a summer weight bag. Great for dry conditions both of these. Also have a 20 degree synthetic LL Bean bag and got a Sea to Summit Long and wide Trail Head 30 for wetter conditions. They were all on sale and had rewards points that helped. Look forward to using. Best
That’s a great set-up!
Very interesting video.
Thanks for watching!
You can get a Spyderco Lil Native for half the price.
Very true. I think Benchmade’s tend to be an acquired taste, once you have it it’s hard to shake!
This version is awesome. Where did you find this beauty?...
I bought it in eBay, not sure what year this was made and sold through knife center, but now you only really see them on the secondary market…
This helped me with me and my new 551 Griptilian
That’s great! Thanks for your comment!
Sharp as a butter knife
@jsoutdoorz7390 You too? I was stunned. I tried the basics of slicing paper and shaving arm hair. It didn't do well at either. To be fair, I grabbed my Off Grid Knives little D2 neck knife. It did fine in the paper and extremely well on the shaving. I'm returning it(Contour)after 3 days as I also realized one half of the v-sharpener was missing.
Mine was pretty sharp, could be sharper out of the box, but it was usable…
Can you fit all fingers on handle, or does your pinky hang over the end?
Unless you have very very large hands you shouldn’t have any problems holding it
@jsoutdoorz7390 I received mine a couple of days ago, but thanks.
Yeah definitely can. Congrats on your new knife!
Great looking knife
Thanks!
Love the setup, keep it up 🎉
Appreciate it! Thanks for your comment!
That's a nice setup! I'm amazed at how much you can fit into that space. Do you find any issues with charging the jackery while it is in use? I'm just curious as to how that works. I think you have me sold on the RSI smartcap. Thanks for sharing. Subbed!
Who cares about the box. They knife is what matters.
Yeah just always good to know what to watch out for!
Is the pivot screw t8 or t10 and my thumb studs dont have the t6 hole to remove the box looks sooo real i think i got a clone 😢
👍👍
If Margot Robbie were a knife... So damn sexy. 😍
Just picked this one up! Like you the color combo definitely caught my eye and convinced to me to finally get a bugout!🤘
Yeah it’s a super cool combo!
Definitely love this color combo! Thinking of picking it up🤘
I concur with this statement lol
Awesome video! Such beautiful sights in God's creation. :)
Indeed! Psalm 19:1
I got one for 500 my my retailer they needed inventory space and sold it for me almost at whole sale price. I love it 😊
That’s awesome, I need that type of contact! Lol
Magnets for running wires is brilliant. Great job organizing your gear 😊
Thank you! I don’t have many good ideas, but every now and then…. Lol
I have a Coghlan's fero rod&striker and in my personal opinion the striker does not work I can get sparks off the rod with anything else but not the striker it comes with.
Hahaha I said the same thing I took a file to it but I just cut a hacksaw blade up and it always throws large abounds of spark
@@NOIS_inks I have a very cheap "Taiwan" folding lock blade and that throws sparks like crazy but not the striker that came with it. I took the file from my old leatherman to remove the "paint" and that was throwing a spark or two.
@@clarencesmith2305 I have a Leatherman sidekick that I did a plier delete on that file is killer for the farro rods that’s what my daughter uses as well it’s easier for her to hold than the hacksaw blade.
Yeah I have mixed feelings on those…I find you have to scrape extremely hard to produce anything useful
Love the setup and has given me some ideas on how to redo my kitchen. I've got a cabinet that I use in the back of my CRV but have been drooling over the Overland Kitchen for sometime now. I like that you sprayed it with the bedliner. I used bedliner spray on my roof basket. One question I have is I notice the slides on the kitchen drawers when you pulled them out, they looked black as well. Did you spray those too?
Thanks for your thoughts! Yeah I did spray them as well, not perfectly though. I’m actually planning an overhaul of the kitchen on the coming months and will be repainting it again as well. I’ll get a new video up once I do. The bedliner spray has been super helpful when something spills or water gets on the counter areas. Keeps everything easy to clean!
How is it better or different than the Bugout?
it isn’t a flimsy piece of shit like the bugout. you can’t bend/snap the griptillian in half. it’s also ten times more comfortable and just generally built more robustly. oh it’s also $40 cheaper too.
Hah! It’s not imo. It’s just different. Bugouts are the perfect EDC, only edge perhaps with the grip is that it feels a bit more substantial in the hand. If it’s me - I’m carrying a Bugout 99% of the time.
My wife and I love your set up ❤❤❤
Thank you!
Great damn near perfect
Thank you for your support!
Can we get a link to the lighting
Is the clip adjustable?in case for side carry?
Yes
Just picked up a mini adamas and couldn't be happier with the stability and overall build quality.
What roof rack are the roam boxes sitting on?
Awesome setup. I have the same Roofnest condor xl roof top tent. Did you repainted it and change the lock for it? Would you make a video for the your roof top tent? What do you used to paint it? Thank you for advance 😊
Now that is the proverbial '20 lbs of stuff in a 10lb can'. Well done!
What are u going to use for a stove.?
Hey! I have a double burner stove that pulls out from the kitchen set-up - check my other videos and there's a long breakdown of the whole kitchen!
It's never easy or cheap. But a great build. Well done.
'Promosm'
Great setup. I would love a parts list of what you used.
Good review, what is the going price now for mini?
Nice setup, thanks for sharing.
Relax time. Good video
Thanks for the review! In theory, you are supposed to be able to thread it in reverse (I wonder if there is a small burr that you need to overcome) ...if you wanted to make the sheath into a larger purchase/handle for throwing sparks. And 100% agree with practicing your trade. In an emergency, most of the time, we do not rise to the occasion, but we do fall back to our training. Train well, play hard.
I like it!! Great review!!!
Thank you!
Absolutely love this variation of 940!!!!!
Me too…probably my favorite varient
Nice setup 🤜🤛
Thanks!
Great Set up, Looking forward to seeing you out exploring
Thanks!
