In this video I illustrate the best ways in which any trumpeter can possibly and easily play lip trills. Take that horn out of the case and let’s get started. Happy practicing 🤗

What mic are you using?
❤❤❤
You are the only guy that actually made get those notes out. Thank you soooo much 🎉🎉
Why half of the song missing?
beautiful
🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️
I made 1st trumpet in high school but eventually quit playing and decided on a different career path. To get those high notes out, I pushed the mouthpiece so hard that my lips started to bleed against my teeth. That was the end of trumpet playing for me. On the other side, there is music theory for those born without the gift of music. For those born with the gift of music, music theory enhances one's natural gift. Those not born with the gift are forever stuck to music sheets transcribed by others. At 70, I see this with my daughter, who can play and improvise on anything she hears. This happened for her after two years of piano lessons at the age of 15, she was transcribing and improvising anything from classical to jazz and her execution of the piano just got better after that. Think I made the right decision to put down the trumpet! 🙂
Nice!

Warm and tender flugel - beautiful phrases and feeling - what a joy this was to hear!
nice playing! the bell seems heavily dented - do you find it affects the horns tone ?
By what I heard here, not much!
Oh it doesn’t really influence my sound but I would really want it fixed to…. However I haven’t found someone who repairs dents specifically in the area where I am…
I would buy your album. 🔥
Nice, reminds me of Stan Getz on saxophone, but even better, because it's a flugel 😀.
Oh yeah Stan is one of my favourites…👍🏽 thanks 🙏🏾
Oh yeah 😃definitely… Stan is one of my personal favorites… thanks 🙏🏾👍🏽
Wow!!
Magnifico
Sublime 👏👏👏
Lovely 🌹
Thanks ❤️
Trills between middle e and g achieved by aperture control? Speed of air ? or tongue level?
OMG.😭 So the only to play like that,I have to learn to sight reading ,or it's possible to learn improvisation with another method????
Ofcourse you can learn to improvise using another method… which is playing through hearing…. But sight reading would make it a lot easier… especially if you can sight read while hearing….
Datz cool can we link up
Daaaayum so cool. Great job
❤️
That's sounds sick 😎

Ohh hell yeah…🔥🔥🔥👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Bro I wish u knew how great you are ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for appreciating 🙏🏾
your supposed to make fricative β when playing the trumpet not a trill like ʙ oh i hear waht you mean now
Thanks for your great suggestions and your kind and simple way of explaining. Could you please tell us something more specific on the right embochure pls?
Well noted…. Gonna be talking about embouchure in one of the next videos…. 👍🏽
Bro dont stop on this... keep going.... Keep going. You help many of us here incase you didnt know❤
Thanks bro 🙏🏾 👍🏽
i can play great pedal C, i can do pitch bend on all notes below C5, I can play high C too, but I got lots of lip pressure when going above high C (highest I can go is G6, but really really tight and not usable), I did try to shape my tongue higher, air stream faster and more focus , but still doesn't work, any tips for that?
I had the same issue on my horn and didn’t care at first cause I wasn’t using all that high range in my gig playing but when I needed it I came to realize that when practicing high notes, you have to rest nearly twice as much as you play…. It’s good you have the discipline, keep to that but remember rest is one of the major factors that’s going to help you improve your range day by day…
Some times all you even need is just one day off the horn then come back the next day when you’re fresh and try increasing that range again…. Please tell me the results of this…. 🙏🏾
More of this my friend 😊 In depth for us ordinary human beings 😊🙏❤️
Glad it was of help to you ❤️
Great man and continue this wonderful work.🙏
Thanks for appreciating 🙏🏾
Awesome solo! Great job by the band! How did you develop your velvety tone at your age?
Oh thanks for appreciating🙏🏾 I develop my tone by constantly practicing long tones, lip slurs and also listening to great jazz masters while playing along there solos…. 👍🏽
@marvintrumpeter1013 ok I see, thanks for taking the time to reply. One more question. How about if I want to develop more than one sound shape? For example, Lee Morgan's sound is miles apart from Harry James' sound. And I love both players' styles.
so much sweetness :)
Thank you ❤️
Greetings,I'm from Zambia,is there anyway you can help me do improvisation on trumpet..there no jazz trumpeters in Zambia
