USS Appalachia NCC-1723 Reveal, Star Trek Blender Fan Animation.
Not sure I'll ever finish her model, but the Appalachia is definitely closer to being fully realized.
Played around a lot with lighting and compositing. The scene is lit a little more like a real space scene than a star trek studio model but tried to balance it.
Music by Jerry Goldsmith
Made using Blender 3d and Da Vinci Resolve

Star Trek Blender USS Enterprise NCC-1701 Warp Exit and Flyby Test Shot
Переглядів 8132 місяці тому
A shot of the Enterprise dropping out of warp and approaching a planet. The cargo ship in the background is a Durance class cargo tug. I've had the Durance kicking around for a while as one of the first models I ever tried. I figured she deserved to make an appearance at least once. good but the enterprise is too well lit look at the motion picture for better light dark sections
Love that lower profile ' compact' look and feel . Job well done!
Excellent work, subscribed 🙏
That means a lot! Your channel has been a great inspiration!
THIS is what a Starfleet starship should look like for a Star Trek series that is set 10 to 15 years before the original series. The design respects the visual canon.
Graceful
Nice! If the belknap class had been TOS!
Looks like a TOS version of a Belknap class Strike Cruiser
Very much so, I love the Belknap! I made her as a kinda prototype that leads to the Belknap's development.
You baste this class on the belknap class unfortunately using a crappy JJ Abrams saucer section. If you had read the belknap description that you based on the belknap's were never put into operation during the original series time era they didn't come into service until the refitted movies era.
It's definitely inspired by the Decatur and Belknap classes, but not supposed to be one. I do have one in the works though, so she'll make an appearance soon. This is my own experimental creation just to see how she would come out, and so I could test different parts and see what I like. The basis for the Appalachia is as a technology demonstrator that would lead into the Belknap's creation, so she's more TOS era like the Decatur concept class.
CALM DONW! So what! It's a cool design. More importantly it's NOT REAL,
🤤DADDY'S FACE DURING AND AFTER THE SHOW.
Sad that the Belknap Class wa s forgotten.
I've always loved the underslung Nacelles for some reason
I'm surprised that someone has created it in 3d! I have the Starship Design magazine that has that, and the refit, on my bookshelf, but not many remember it...
The refit-era Belknap was my favorite until the Akira and Duderstadt came along. I really like me angry little spaceship. Kinda wonder how you might undersling the nacelles on a Duderstadt, rather than have this boxy spine they jut out of. Maybe a bit like a Franklin.
@nicoferguson1215 She's always in the back of my mind for ships that are different enough to stand on their own but not too far off the beaten path.
@deoradh Love the Akira to death. I like most of Bill Krause's designs, but the Dunderstadt just never clicked with me. Were you thinking the Nacelles would come out of the secondary hull instead or just angle downward?
A very nice design!
Many thanks upon you!

seriously wicked stuff man, obviously I am no animation or graphics expert, heck I'm not really into star trek even, but this looks amazing!
Perfect music for that moment. It's great to get on at the ground floor with a channel and see it grow.
Many thanks! I do this hoping the Viewers have as much fun watching as I do creating.
The exit angle, the flyby, everything was perfectly executed. Mad props!
Thank you!
Absolutely gorgeous work! What about making the rear nacelle bulbs glow white when it hits warp?
Many thanks! I'm not sure yet if I'll do that for the Enterprise, as I want her model to be as screen accurate as I can make her (just personal preference). I'll try it though and see if I like it. However, I do have other ships in the works that would definitely be more apt to have glowing effects at the end of the Nacelles, so I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the suggestion!
Agree with making the bulbs glow before going warp, I can understand wanting to make things screen accurate, but don’t forget lot of those things were due to budget constraints of the time.
Can you make those rear engine bulbs glow white? That would look very nice! Great job! Love the original Enterprise!
Thank you! There's a lot of aspects of this shot I think I can do better and may do a redo. I'll definitely consider adding that if I do.
THATS AWESOME
Camera work is a bit "battlestar" I prefer my trek more majestic. nice model tho. Try the Baton Rouge class from the Spaceflight Chronology. that makes an excellent precursor design to the Connie.
I definitely agree about the camera work, going for more traditional trek style in the next one I think. I'll check out the Baton Rouge, thanks! I can almost picture her but I can't quite remember the details.
That is a nice looking ship.
no it isn't.
@@sarcasticstartrek7719 Yes it is.
@@skyserf no. most fan creations are crap, and this is one of them.

@@sojourner. Same here.
Nice... I like the two styles. The Kelvin-esque ship goes well with the Prime Connie. Can't say I cared for the 1960's radio pings a la JJ Trek, or the silly bobbing , weaving, focus, unfocus, focus camera shots, but that's obviously all subjective. It DOES look good though. Kudos on the models!
I totally get what you're saying. I'm a huge fan of the TOS era stuff and the calm camera handling, but I also like the cinematography of the JJ Abrams stuff at times. I'm honestly just trying stuff out to see what happens. Thanks for the feedback!
Love to see a longer version. Maybe with both ships coming out of warp, and then both ships going off into warp speed.
You'll definitely see more of both ships so I'll see what I can do!
Daddy approves. 😁
This...wouldn't happen to be based on the Decatur class from the *Starship Design* magazine, would it?
Good eye! It's a mix of that and a TOS era Belknap inspiration. Honestly just wanted to see how it turned out.
@@thealbatrossstudio5859 considering i have that particular issue, and reread it every few months.... well, I would certainly recognize her
I don't know why but the underslung nacelles always tickled my fancy
@@thealbatrossstudio5859 agreed, along with the thicker neck
I love the little touch of the impulse engines powering down as the ship transitions to warp. Nicely done!
Thanks! I was hoping it would be noticed! It felt like the right thing to have happening.
Awesome! Love the panorama of the Enterprise.
Bravo!
