I work in a funeral home as well! Though I'm not pagan my coworker is and is looking to open a pagan funeral home and cemetery, and I diving into research as I hope to eventually work for them. Including all number of practices and burials Im working to learn. I'm non-religious myself but im very passionate about respecting and enthusiastically participating in spiritual practices involving death, genuinely an honor and its something I love participating in. Very detailed. This year I have gathered props such as mask, scales, plush heart, calligraphy plume (gifted, in essence, by perhaps, the intention of creating a character such as Anubis. It was synchronistic how I chose that calligraphy ink pen plume). I also have the scarab beetle token/charm as gifts to people who want to learn about the concept. I appreciate you dedicating and illuminating us on the subject in regards to your belief system and how elaborate these strings of conscious exploration takes us to devine spaces. I am intrigued and it might be an explorative avenue

😊 Re the candle - since you said you believe that all things have their purpose and candles get used [I'm the same way], chances are good that that special candle came to you because one day there will be a solid reason to use it. It might be 10 years from now but it's got a use lined up. You'll still have the little gift tag and it's memories after.
