European Spallation Source (ESS) is a multi-disciplinary research facility based on the world’s most powerful accelerator-based neutron source, currently under construction in Lund, Sweden. ESS will enable scientific breakthroughs in research related to materials, energy, health and the environment, addressing some of the most important societal challenges of our time. Every year thousands of researchers from all over the world will make use of the facility’s unique capabilities within materials research and life science. ESS is a research infrastructure with 13 member countries from all over Europe.
