This game is a masterpiece and I cannot wait for dawntrail. The ending to a 10 year story with so many twists and turns throughout the journey. So many foes that turned friends because the WoL met them halfway. In short, just as the song said the game has “Tales of love.” Much love to everyone in the FFXIV community. 🖤

The final walk somehow DIDN'T break me, if anything - the song gave me the courage to continue fighting (Plus, I didn't realise that the creatures were basically voices from the past - so I didn't give the quotes much thought - this, alongside my memory) I was also confused at the fact that the WoL resurrected the scions with no problem, thinking it was a "Friendship is magic" trope - but then remembered that despite their material bodies being gone when they fused with Ultima Thule, their souls remained and as such - the possibility of creating material forms wasn't completely out of the question

Isn't the line "tales of loss and fire and FATE" (rather than faith)? I thought the idea was that HW was tales of loss (for the dragons, esp. Nidhogg, but also of Haurchefaunt), SB was tales of fire, and ShB was tales of fate. At any rate, I've seen it both ways in translations of the EW splash screen vocalization, with explanations on reddit etc... does anyone have the translation from Japanese? Or maybe it's both in different places (fate in the Footfalls/splash-screen, faith in Close in the Distance). Any thoughts?

I wish FFXIV would end with this expansion, everything seems so well put together, it's a good ending for WoL. I wish we would get another FF online with a new beggining.

"Through you, we live" - This one got me. The first time I heard this song the second the melody came into full effect, after everything that happened to the WoL's friends, it broke me.

We've all been through a lot haven't we? IG and irl. This song reminds there's still hope irl. There are those who stand in defiance of the planet fading away. Much like the star itself.

I have never played endwalker and only recently started playing this game. The first time i visit other player's bar, this songs started playing. I thought it'd odd to hear English music in this game. Beside that's it's a really beautiful song. I have yet to play the expansion. I might return to this comment in the future to update it :D

This game both the music and story is nothing short of a damn emotional masterpiece

This song feels like it's as much about all the people you meet and eventually lose contact with in MMOs, with varying degrees of closeness, as much as it is about the events of the MSQ. FLOW feels like the insert song for Endwalker, but this feels like the insert song for FFXIV itself. Probably the most beautiful ode to MMOs ever.

"A smile best befits a hero" I cried so many times during this game but Endwalker was the expansion that not only made me cry but scared me to no ends. Especially this cutscene. I was so scared that my WoL was going to die. And then i realized... I was afraid of being alone and this game brought so much joy to my life. It gave me friends and it even gave me my partner, my soulmate. Eleven years I have been apart of this amazing world. I started back with ARR just on the heels of Heavensward about to be released. I'm so happy to have been able to take this journey as this game helped me to grow even as a person.

When people say that ffxvii was the best, I tell them that they have to play ffxiv. It's the best ff story that threw me in for a loop and tied all the paths together at the end. A sad and beautiful story that won't be replicated for years to come.

Wow, the Japanese and their choice of mythologies to choose from. They have a slight bias towards German ideology of the 1930s. Do they even know that Ultima Thule, the transneptunian objet was renamed because that name is unacceptable for western audiences?
