I miss when it was just go up and talk to someone or have x amount of characters already to recruit someone. I just finished the spiritual successor Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes and it legit takes like 6 hours to recruit the character from cooking battles.

Yes since while the Temple of the ancients is a REQUIRED DISC 1 area this BEST weapon of his can't even BE gotten UNTIL MID DISC 2 to begin with.

Suikoden I legit had the most easiest characters to recruit till it evolved in to each of their own mini quests to find them in the latter games. I'm not against it tho, I kinda like it tbh cause it adds more depth and backstories in to their lives and how they came to be in the Suikoden world. It adds a bit of a breather from the main story line where you just want to explore the world and meet people.

Aww maan I remember playing this back in 2008 and never getting the complete 108 SoD. Some of them are hard to see cause of the fixed isometric camera view, I literally had to mash the X or O button when I'm the in edge of the map, box, alley, corridors etc. to see if there's a SoD character hiding there. It's like playine "Where's Waldo" inside of Suikoden V haha. Great tutorial btw, thanks for creating this video tutorial guide. I'll have to replay every major game in the franchise from I to V again, and try to recruit SoD characters haha.
