I couldn't seem to find exactly what I was looking for at the stores so I made it myself. Thanks for watching and thank you for all the support and subscribes! I have more tutorials recorded that are awaiting editing. Take care of each other :-)
woven fleece blanket from selvage scraps
Переглядів 1,9 тис.5 років тому
I love those chunky merino wool blankets and they inspired me to make my own sewn version. It was challenging to make a sturdy washable quilt with scraps but it all worked out great. I love the fun texture and it has a great weight to it. My daughter says it is the warmest blanket ever. :-)
reverse applique messenger bag

The simplest version of reverse applique. And for fun I made it into a purse! Hoping to make a more complicated design in the future :-) enjoy

Lanyard pouch / Neck Purse
Переглядів 2,6 тис.6 років тому
This is a simple pattern for a "neck purse". I suggest making it longer than you need it and trim it to fit or make the non-vinyl side an inch longer. I was in a rush to get out of the studio, so if I missed something feel free to ask!
DIY bell bottom
Переглядів 7116 років тому
Make your skinny jeans into flare/bell bottoms. In this tutorial I show you how to make your own pattern, create the panel and finish the project. I upcycled ripped jeans and silk ties but the options are endless.

Looks awesome! So much talent packed into such a short video!
Let’s not exaggerate. LOL. Thanks for watching it!
@SewScentsible you're too modest!
Perfect to the point teaching. Didn't waste my life with extra talking and has a clam voice for teaching.
Aww that’s so nice to hear! Thanks ❤
Nice❤❤❤❤
Are there measurements for different sizes available?
Interesting idea! I only tried the one size. My kids just grew through it. It went from nearly touching the floor to just being a jacket. Thanks for watching!
What are the dimensions?
I love when you say, it's pretty simple. Gives me hope
You’ve got this!
Measurements would be very helpful, instead of just saying “the length of the fabric” or “this much” maybe try saying 40” or about 2 inches etc. so that people can fully understand how much fabric they need from the get go.
I mean… it’s a nine year old post of a recorded tv segment- you’re barking up the wrong tree for that. You can, however, look up other videos where people have done this project and then get your answers.
Hi thanks for reaching out! The length of the fabric on the fleece is usually 60 inches. But you could attach two pieces together to make any length that you desire! Thanks for the question!
@@cbkqmom yes it is very old, isn’t it! I still work at the studio part time but I have not been as committed to creating sewing video content. I’ve got some ideas but I’ve been recording them from home. I do miss the three camera set up! Maybe I’ll make the memorial pillow video at the studio.
Perfect to have here in Florida during summer months. I will be making a few. Thanks
This is ideal for my great grandson. He just started playing with cars. Shared your video with my daughter and grandson. Thank you
Wonderful! I hope it keeps him entertained! ❤️
It’s so cute
Thank you!
Thank You! So practical and easy!!!
I’m glad you like it. Thanks for watching!
I’ve never seen that tool before. Beats pushing a safety pin through the pocket of fabric. What a time saver!
here is a link for the vinyl. Thanks so much for supporting the channel www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015QDB9KK/ref=as_li_qf_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=sewscentsible-20&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B015QDB9KK&linkId=02b7efe67e855c0cedd14ea8d034401e
That is the coolest tool! Where would you get one?!
Thanks! They are really fun. I bought one for my daughters scrunchie making business but I soon saw the uses for so many other things! Here is the shopping link. WOW! the video quality is horrible! Maybe I need a redo! LOL
I couldn't see a thing
Take the writing away so you can see what you're doing
Nice combination of scarf n hood which is good for winter. So cool.
Love the collar! I want a cape for myself but of course I’m making one for my little angel
Did you ever make one for yourself?
@@SewScentsible no! It is something I might get to this winter. Thank you for asking. You reminded me.♥️
@@pattysherwood7091 I’m interested the difference between toddler and adult. Please let me know if you get to it! ❤️
great video
exactly what I was looking for! Thank you

If you use a walking foot it will go through better

Great tutorial...tfs!
Thank you for this video. I made one & am going to make another one soon. My neighbors were taking pictures of it when I wore it,
That is wonderful! thanks for sharing!
Love the weaving technique! Very creative. Thank you
Never seen one put together that way, but it's a great idea ... needs longer scarf part for my taste, too. Using solids or an all over pattern {that does not have to match to look best} is an idea you might need to think about ahead of buying and/or cutting your pattern out. Great video cute ... must try it.
Jo Ann McCraw great ideas!
how wonderful, and how easy to understand what you're saying as your doing. thank you! For me, i would have pressed the seams and the "fold in" opening where you inserted the hood. But well done and thank you for sharing!
Cut the back and the front at the same time. I'm actually making one right now.
Wendi Jackson Yes I do the same unless there is print on the back. I just finished another one of these quilts and I was so excited that five of the shirts were 1sided. Definitely a timesaver. That’s great that you are making a quilt right now, keep sewing ❤️
when folding over the waistband iron it down before sewing to make it easier.
great tip!
Great tutorial, hope you bring out more tutorials
Can i ask what the round metal discs are on your table
Scrappin Dipity Wish I had an exciting answer but those are just part of the table. It is the studio table and it has all kinds of different configurations that they can go in. So they unscrew the discs and make different kinds of tables.
Would using iron on backing on each piece of t shirt material stop it from bunching up
Yes! It would help with that. You can find fusible webbing for $0.99 a yard at Joanns that will get the job done. I use it on my Memorial quilts(with closed seams, not fringe edge) and it works will. The only thing with this fringe style... if you use the webbing it will come undone in the dryer and reattach itself randomly(fringe part). Fusing webbing is time consuming and more costly but if you make a traditional quilt it is very useful. I'm sorry I didn't see this comment sooner! How did your quilt turn out?
Great video ladies so enjoy it and very helpful! Thank you very much for sharing!!! Just Subscribed to your channel... Liz x
Love the Apron and little 'catch-all'. I had an idea: Use a decorative plastic liner and it would make a cute plant pot cover for herbs, etc. on the window sill. Thanks for the inspiration! Karen
sounds wonderful!
use a walking foot and you don't have to stretch and pull the fleece
Loretta Lemon great idea!
Fleece hooded scarf pattern
I love your personality! Especially when you threw your leftover fabric to the side of the studio. Subscribed!
Hey Heather I have been looking for a decent hood video for weeks and yours is just great! I was wondering if I were to add faux fur to trim the hood how do you usually go about this process? Do i make the trim and just sew it right on?
I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you! How did it turn out?
Thanks Nancy! I do have a ruffler and I've used the basting stitch for my daughters dresses. The ruffled edging would look wonderful too! Thanks for watching! If you make this apron I'd love to see a photo.
Thanks for doing this tutorial. You did a great job. I would use a ruffler foot to make the ruffle or sew a basting stitch and gather it (the old way) if you don't have a ruffler. I think that would be a time saver.
Thanks for saying that <3
I just love this. My grandson has lukemia and im thinking of putting one together for him with all different kinds of things he enjoys. Thankyou so so much.
I'm so sorry to hear about your grandson. That must be challenging in many ways. I hope everything works out promptly. I love making t-shirt Quilts, I hope you do too!
I wish there was a love icon to click for this. This one is so much easier than the pattern I have. Thank you!
Wonderful!
do you use a stretch stitch on your machine and a ball point needle?
I used a polyester thread and a jersey needle. How did your project turn out?
Love the hood and scarf but would like the scarf to be longer but very nice work.
sixpackbinky yes, I thought the same thing after using mine a few weeks. That is what is so great about sewing, you can alter it to your own needs. Thanks for checking out my tutorial.
I love it!!! Thanks for the tutorial!
Gayla Pawloski thanks so much, happy sewing ❤️
Why wasn't the fleece cut with a rotary cutter?
If you use a rotary blade, the fleece fibers will get stuck in the self healing mat. You can rub them out with an eraser. Thanks for your interest!
