Colkegan Bottled-in-Bond Single Malt Whiskey
Nose: The nose of this whiskey builds into deep notes of caramelized pecans, with very mellow mesquite smoke; ripe peaches and clove follow. Toffee and toasted oak cannot hide in this exciting Bottled-in-Bond whiskey.
Palate: A velvety texture, with the palate matching the comparatively (to other whiskey’s made by SFS) darker color of the whiskey. Lovely fruit and floral notes such as yellow raisin and lilac, with notes of slow roasted acorn squash. Hardy caramel tones and mesquite smoke follow. A stout warmth lasts long after the initial taste.
Finish: The lasting warmth of the palate feeds into buttered toast, with nut brittle notes teasing one into another sip.
Color: A deep tawny color, like that of a rich fall cider.
100 proof.
1000 bottles produced.
Bruichladdich
Eighteen Aged Years
£150.00 50% ALC./VOL.
Matured exclusively on Islay, primarily in ex-Bourbon casks and a small number of wine casks, The Bruichladdich Eighteen is the epitome of Bruichladdich's signature unpeated house style.
Full bodied and beautifully fragrant, notes of honey, butterscotch, and citrus orange open on the nose, with a medley of tropical fruits and toasted mellow oak lingering on the palate.
J.T. Meleck's Single Barrel Program was launched in October of 2022 with picks dropping at Nunu's Market and Champagnes Market in Lafayette, LA. We decided to launch this program after discovering that some barrels were not like the others. They were meant to be enjoyed separately. Whether it be the nose, flavor or finish, we knew these barrels were special and need to be shared with our fans. Select groups or retailers are invited to our distillery for a tour & tasting where they choose a barrel that will become their single barrel pick. Each pick varies in flavor, yield and proof, making each bottle unique. No barrel is the same so each single barrel pick is its own experience. Personalized stickers are present on each bottle identifying the group or retailer who picked, the bottle number, barrel number, proof and ABV. Aged 4-5 years in new American Oak 53-gallon barrels with proofs having ranged from 118.2-123.9
Found North Batch 010
Description
Batch 010 embodies our vision for Canadian wheaters - old corn and younger wheat. While corn deeply benefits from decades of aging, we find that wheat quickly ages out of its unique buttery and minty profile. Because bourbon is made by combining the grains before distillation and maturation, wheated bourbon producers are stuck constantly compromising, either over aging the wheat or under aging the corn.
In contrast, Batch 010 uses a combination of two 23 year old corn components and a 19 year corn component as the foundation of the blend. Making up 66% of the whisky, these super-aged corn components provide the thick, viscous structure and the resonant layer of brown sugar and baking spices that come with age. This structure compliments the vibrant buttery quality and luscious mintiness from the 29% 8 year old wheat, achieving the ebullience of wheat and the elegance of ancient corn.
Batch 010 features a new component and a new grain - a 9 year old malted barley aged in New American Oak. Even at 5% of the blend, the malted barley brings oiliness and rich layers of semi-sweet chocolate, creating a new dynamic within our conception of a Canadian wheater.
Lady Bird
TEXAS HONEY-INFUSED COGNAC-FINISHED BOURBON | 114 PROOF
Like all of our bourbons, Lady Bird begins its life as our distinguished Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey. Master Distiller Donnis Todd selects barrels of this nectar that already display notes of honey, and delicately infuses them with Burleson's Texas Wildflower Honey for an additional 8-9 months. The liquid then ages in exquisite French Cognac XO casks for an additional 3 years, resulting in a harmonious blend of unparalleled flavor and elegance. This double-finished masterpiece reflects the perfect balance between sweet honey notes and the rich complexity of cognac.
The Holladay Ancient Cave Collection is a series of bourbon aged in experimental barrels for a secondary finish. Every expression of Holladay Bourbon begins the aging process in a new, level-three-charred, white oak barrel where it ages for at least six years in Rickhouse B or C. Once the barrels are of age, a select few are chosen from the first floor to be dumped and re-barreled to experiment with different taste profiles that come from secondary finishes.

Single barrel scotch does exist. The proof difference from your sample compared to the batch release bottle could be many things, including just pulling from one spot. Top top is higher proof than the bottom.
@@dus10dnd yes I should have said compass box single barrel. And yes you are correct, that’s why it needs time.
High proof rye aged in secondary barrels have always been my favorite bottles. I agree, rye can cut through those finishes so well.
@@nathanmummert8813 I’m really loving them. Thanks for the hang out.
Great list. I havent tried any of them actually but sounds like a great list 😆. Thanks for the video ~
@@WhiskeyBank all great bottles

Great video Randall - I recently had a Hard Truth Sweet Mash Rye SiB pick and it is amazing! After listening to Bryan, I need to plan a trip to visit, the distillery sounds amazing! I will certainly be asking for representation in the stores I go to. (Including that Toasted Coconut Rum…)
@@CA_Scotty amen brother.

When you touch the bulb, your body can act like a capacitor, allowing a small amount of electricity to flow. Also your sweat has alot of salt in it which increases the conductivity.
