What makes Ellende so special for me in general is this unconventional, almost ambivalent interpretation of black metal. Besides all the typical musical styles like tremolo picking, blastbeats and so on, their music and lyrics contain all the darkness and angst that black metal is known for. But besides all that, there are also many elements that break with these conventions. One of them is the rather clear and warm sound. Then there is the use of certain instruments and textures, synths, layers and so on. And from time to time you find riffs that even have an uplifting effect and feel like moments of hope. Everything comes together harmoniously and creates something like a musical valve for all your inner pain.

And it´s the same with P.F.´s drumming. Sure, there are all those genre-typical elements, but they really stand out. And that's because he combines all of this with a lot of creativity and feel - e.g., you'll find syncopated ideas, super tasty fills, influences from various genres and much more. In addition, he has this natural understanding of when there is time to shine and when to serve the song. And lastly, imo, his strongest skill: Dynamics!
As I've previously mentioned, there's nothing more important to me in music than creating emotions. And the best way to realize this on drums is to have the ability to play dynamically and to have a feeling for when and how to place your notes and accents. P.F. has mastered this and continues to inspire me!

There are many organizations and associations that do incredibly important work! Whether it's raising awareness and doing investigations, the rescue and liberation of animals or the resistance against the countless forms of human cruelties through petitions or other proactive operations.
They all deserve every form of solidarity and support. That's why I thought about it for a long time and finally decided to dedicate this fundraiser to a different kind of animal welfare:
Animal Sanctuaries
There is a (far too small) number of animals that have fortunately been rescued from their personal hell and brought to such a safe haven. Where they are given the opportunity of a real life.. a life they deserve, independent of all the speciesism that still characterizes large parts of our society.
Being someone who has faced quite some abysses myself, I feel like a deep emotional bond to these animals. And so, alongside all the suffering, I can also draw attention to something what is like a glimmer of hope for the innocent.

Once again, of course, there are many sanctuaries that deserve every possible support..
I chose @landdertiere because they are doing a great job of explaining the whole idea and raising awarness for their work, plus they have a certain reach, which hopefully helps the smaller sanctuaries to become more visible.
