i run at 68 degrees i personally havent had them lower what i would do is just run 2 tanks and have a stable population in 1 tank and slowly lower the temp in the second myself

@@ellaaqua I've tried tripartite already idk if it's the combination of low temp and hardware but it won't grow

@TemperateTanks Aww man, I hear you. Sometimes things just don't stick. I bet the moss will grow in nicely.

its been a little while since but i do have a little experience with scuds from memory i know ur pretty much giving up on moss if you get them, ca bomba hornwort and any other filimentous plants are targets 2. i dont know if you've had issue with them munching on thick leaf plants like anubias? im not overtly worried tho because i dont plan to run moss since the big tank is going to be a primarily hillstream loach species and i need bare rock and ill have fish in tank

but u know all of that can go out the window and they may nuke my tank lol

@@TemperateTanks hahaha 😂 yeah they are in my experience a major pain, i actually payed for them in the beginning… to feed my apistos, they are a decent food for fish. But mine has munch on my anubias coffeefolia, and theu stripped my horwort, and water wisteria to the root. The water wisteria was a beautiful plant, scuds enjoyed it immensely.

@@pelhamsaquatics yyeah that can be a pain in the rear end i also feal that it probably has something to do with the species of scuds as well im sure some are probably more herbacious then detrivores then others even in my lake im sure theres 4 or 5 species
