You just need to get your Drivers licenses changed to the new address and file any time this year. It will retroactively apply to the 2024 tax year

can you help with a question i have, so i bought my house in November 2022, i did not file a homestead last year but im trying to apply a late homestead this year, so my question is where it says "tax year (fill in your tax year)" would that 2023 or 2024? i did noticed the late filing for prior year box. but still confused wheter i need to put 2023 or 2024 on the tax year for the first line?
1.) This is a brand new community; Frisco is no longer like many years ago, limited lands available makes new homes in Frisco extreme difficult to find. 2.) Surrounding high schools are extremely good ( Take a look US news most recent ranking ). 3.) these 2 communities are close to national luxurious "Frisco Fields" community and reasonable distance to Universal Studio Kids Resort. 4.) These 2 communities are close to Mckinney H.E.B. which causes people's 2 hours waiting during Frisco ( first in DFFW metro ) H.E.B. open . Mordernized Kroger is very close. Future TomeThum store will be walking distance in this community. 5.) This is a master-planned community with amenity center. 6.) Frisco's real estate market shifts to the north recently. 7.) Even though northeast Frisco still have lots of traffic, but it is better than the west of Frisco. 8.) It is next to the most expensive and high-end area of McKinney. Actually, according US news 2024 ranking, the 2 high schools next to these 2 communities are excellent! If they are in Bay area, ( even in the border of Bay area) the near-by more than 30 years old single family home will be, at least, 2millions ( the same age Condo will be, at least, 1.15 million ). As far as I can remember, the near-by Kroger is the second most mordernized Kroger after the one in Prosper. When H.E.B. opened its first Frisco store in Dallas metro area, some residents in Dallas ( especially, in southern Dallas ) complain like this: Even we wait our whole life for H.E.B. coming to our neighborhood , H.E.B chose Frisco. Only gasoline/convenience saving to Costco, HEB, Kroger and Tom& Thum near-by can save you significant money!

I have a question in the Heir section. We re-financed our home. Do I write down the current deed of trust number or the one when we originally purchased the home?
I purchased my house in August 2023 and put the year as 2023 on the homestead exemption form. I already sent the form to Collin CAD. Was it correct, or should I have put the year as 2024? Thanks for the video!
So helpful thank you! I do have a question though. I bought the home with a boyfriend at the time..a mistake I know lol, we are now separated. Both on the deed but I kept the home. His drivers license address has now changed. How does this work out when filing for homestead? Do I leave him off the application? Hope that made sense!
What was the % ownership split when you bought? Did you apply for HS exemption when you bought? Afaik, you will receive the exemption in the same proportion of your ownership.
