I don’t think I’ve seen anybody do this but a door gunner kit would be cool
@@bentleyhiben2979 that could be a cool idea, I’ll have to check that out.
Make the ww2 kit bruh
@aydenwarrior9653 I ain’t got stuff for ww2 lol
@ u said u was going to make one
@aydenwarrior9653 did I?
@certifiedhistorynerdyes u said you were doing a medic kit
@aydenwarrior9653 oh yeah that was a while ago. As I’ve said in my recent videos it’s not one of my priorities at the moment. I probably won’t do it for a while.
I think advisor kit would be cool
Again it’s a recon platoon
I know where you live
I like that HANSON rig at the back
I would say it is the best I have seen other than Brent’s video of sog but where you get your gear!
@@HunterG-v3t so the gear is original, either from surplus storage or EBay, the ruck will be replaced with a new reproduction that’s coming out. And that’s really it lol. My fatigues are repros from Hessen antiques, Moores Militaria is another good place to get them and any Nam stuff ya need.
I have got 12 from Hessen in my cart😂
For the kit
Ok
Ok, So here is my Constructive Criticism. The Jungle Boots are Too Shinny. You could signal Russian Empire with how Shinny those boots are. Since they are reproduction, for a Better "In the Field" Impression, Stuff them up alot, and Don't shine them! Other than that, Your on Point Young Trooper. Looks pretty darn good. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
@@torycsummers7328 I don’t shine them. I just had recently polished them, I use a cream based polish that doesn’t shine. I haven’t used them much since I polished them. But yes I agree, usually they getter dirty pretty quickly during event lol. I just don’t wanna keep them dirty so they last a long time.
the rucksack needs to be higher on your shoulders
Yeah I probably could’ve tightened it a bit more. It’s not a good repro either way I might be getting a better one soon
You do what you want, I'm just passing on a bit of knowledge i learned the hard way.
@@rustyshackleford9588 yeah I do agree though. I don’t use this kit much so I’m still figuring out where everything need to be
I need a discord invite
if u want repro gear to look real go rub dirt and wash it a few times for a more accurate fading,
@@FrfrfrGrr true, but there really ain’t quality Nam equipment really don’t exist. And original is just better
Awesome VIdeo!
How do I join your group
@@Deltareenacting well where do you live? We’re a Houston/ College station Tx group
@ northwest Mississippi
@ ah, yeah well unless your able to come to Texas for reenactments I don’t think it could work, right now we mostly just have Texans in the group since we don’t travel out of state. Sorry man.
@ Texas isn’t a far drive for us especially Houston
@@Deltareenacting well we mostly do stuff on college station. I have a discord for my group. How much of a kit do you have?
Top impression.
@@soldierstudios7316 thanks man! Still needs some work
I've read about this organization before and a lot of the members of sog actually came from our state
@@ClancyWoodard-yw6tg oh cool!
@@certifiedhistorynerd I mean don't get me wrong they had members from all over the country but a lot of them were fellow Texans
@ oh yeah sorry misunderstood the comment lol. Although most of the Recon Team was Indigenous members
@@certifiedhistorynerd yeah that's true they were montanyards and nungs
All i would say is of course youve washed the uniform because of the paint but it they get dirty and wrinkled they woukd look great even though you can reenact a replacement even they got dirty
I need to learn the loading drill better 😅
Eleven days later…⚡️
CHAT GRACEN DIED!!???
Love the hat, love the gourds
Good looking rendition. I like the hat.
Lookin GOOD pard !
Very interesting kit you got pard ... Yes, Lookin Good! Just stay well and safe and have alot of fun ..
By the way, love your content&channel. Keep up the great work.
I found an original Og 107 special forces utility uniform dated 1963 and it has colored patches. That being the special forces airborne patch with the ranger rab above it on the left sleeve and on the right it has a Macv-sog patch. It has the colored named tapes, above the white last name tape it has the colored vietnamese parachute wings(basic). Below that on the right pocket it has a black&white recondo patch. And above the black&gold us army tape on the left side it has the master parachute wing(white) and above that it has the combat infantry badge 1st award(white&blue). And below on the left pocket it has the south vietnamese special forces LLDB patch(colored). And finally it has the south vietnamese captain rank horizontal between the two name tapes and on the collar it has captain rank(silver'white-ish)on the right side and the cross rifles(gold) on the left. Rank is sewn on and not metal pins. The last amazing note on this Og107 utility uniform is it fits me pretty well and im 6'4 194lbs. I also have the original beret with captains rank embroidered on the 5th SFG flash(it fits too).
Left left left right left. The whole set up looks sick. Thanks for recording this
I've always wanted to know what drill did they actually follow were they doing like the standard US military drill of the era or was it like a combination of like the Mexican army and US drill
@@ClancyWoodard-yw6tg so the militia was drilled in mostly a translation from the French drill, some US drill as also used, Mexicans used French drill but the Texans were drilled by their own commanders not the Mexicans.
@@certifiedhistorynerd oh okay so it was really like a combination of various different schools of drill
@ kinda. If the officers were US trained then they would incorporate some US stuff but otherwise it was the French manual
@@certifiedhistorynerd Hi there! Just wanted to clarify, the Mexicans were using the Spanish drill from the 1810's but slightly modified. Most drill manuals of this period were derivative of the Prussian and French drills of the late 1700's so it can look very similar sometimes, it's easy to confuse them.
@ ah gotcha, thanks for the info!
Seems to me the soles on the SM Wholesale ones are better quality, though.
Yeah but looks wise they ain’t that accurate, not horrible but you could get better. Moores has the best most accurate ones repro wise
I'm so happy theres finally a video on this
As a texan i find this awesome and you're absolutely right Texas militia during this period they were using the same rifles that they used to shoot at coyotes and put food on the table
@@ClancyWoodard-yw6tg yeah it’s really interesting, I’m a Texan as well, what part of Texas are ya from?
@@certifiedhistorynerd I live in Baytown which is going towards Mont belvieu and anahuac
@ oh sweet, I live on the other side of Houston in the Katy area. Have you ever been to the San Jacinto Battle ground?
@@certifiedhistorynerd I've been there before it's just been a long time because I grew up across the ferry in Highlands
@ cool! I haven’t reenacted there yet but do plan to
The lace, in the liner, is horrible ! The colour was white and the way it goes through the leather is totally wrong (only use the holes which are at the end of the tongues and bind them with the lace !) !!!
@@HarryCowl I have the helmet away a few months ago, I got a long time ago and now it’s not my problem lol
Someone lost their dawg on the nam battlefield 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏
The collar disk are supposed to be on the top part
Nope, that is an enlisted jacket, there is no braid on sleeve, collar brass is enlisted , quartermaster corps, , no stripe on the trousers, the cap is a field grade officer's cap. Collar brass is in the wrong place.
Oh man, I wish you would put McRaes's Vietnam Era Jungle Boots to the test. Running through rivers/creeks, how fast they dry, ect. Would be fun concept for a video.
Yes that would be, but those jungle boots way to expensive and not really accurate.
@@certifiedhistorynerd Its 2024 where all the boot prices are more jacked up than in previous years. That rep you got in the video costed around the same, yet you say this, lol. Imo, I always prefer a better functional jungle boot rather than get tunnel visioned on the stuff. So, I'd just like to see them stacked up to the ones in the video. I hear they're the best from all the old vets I speak with over at the VFW.
@@Sam-Icy my mistake I was looking a at website that had them listed for $200. However as I said these boots aren't accurate, though the idea is cool I don't really feel like spending that much money for something I'm only gonna use once.
Field jacket has 1st Cav Division patch
Yes I talk about why in the video
You probably just misspoke, but its 1st Battalion 28th Infantry Regiment.
It was very common for all riflemen to carry two belts of 7.62 M-60 rounds for a total of 200 rounds.
Have you tried using a butt pack adapter that moves it from your belt to up on your shoulders?
You don't see those get used really at all, but I do think they are better
You guys look really kool. Good impressions.
Yea your Middle Helmet liner is called a "P64 Helmet Liner" ie Pattern 1964 , so the 63 could actually be the Date inside there.
Việt Cộng Và Hàn Quốc
I may be incorrect but i think your missing the m1956 butpack thats a m1956 rig still looks great same uniform im building just a few more ammo pouches
The buttpack is not needed, I do have one but it was mostly ditched after 1967/68, Especially amongst standard infantry. Soldiers started primarily using rucksacks insteed, however you still do see some butpacks. However Rucks weren't always used and would be most likely be dropped when you came into contact with the enemy. but early war the buttpack is seen a lot.
@@certifiedhistorynerd cause I'm making a uniform that looks almost the exact same as that but without the scarf and I'm putting 4 ammo pouches I'm getting a butt pack for it
@@UNITEDSTATES1944 Alright! well depends what you're portraying to dictate if you have a buttpack or not. The scarf I have is for my specific battalion. now with the 4 ammo pouches I haven't really seen that. I do know that later on they got a little creative with web setups and I've seen more than two canteen pouches and one time 3 ammo pouches but 4 may be too much. If you have photo evidence then go ahead but from what it seems most soldiers, especially later on, didn't wanna carry a lot on their equipment and opted for things like bandoliers.
@@certifiedhistorynerd I was told soldiers would get to carry as much ammo as possible I was told some would carry 4 pouches
With bandoliers
Nam war?. 😂
Love it
Your kit is outstanding! Particular mention the scarf, that Bowie is awesome!
