Full-length outings of Remote Control (RC) ground vehicles & various boats, with and without modification. Mostly with.... ;)
If you want to see how an RC vehicle does in the real world, this is the channel for that.

JORC2550114 Power Stroke Garden Run
Took Powerstroke out for a run and found the snow had frozen into something like a sub-zero slushy.

Hero8 is set to Narrow view. A left-to-right oscillation persists the duration of the video. This is a replacement Used Hero8, where it may be a hardware issue. Or, it might just be the snow-covered trail.

You Tube's Auto-generated thhumnnbail stinks. I don't understand why giving us three choices was discontuined. I expect it has something to do with clickbait profits, but regardless, it stinks. DJI OSMO ACTION 3 set to 4:3 and strapped to base of Tx.

Happened to me for Bilstein 4600. Got ARB /Emu spring hoping they fit as they look similar shocks. Measuring the thickness and sorting the springs revealed have 0.4, 0.47, 0.57, 0.67. I needed two not 4 so I managed. However I lost about 7 mm travel when compressed full.
Awesome! I tried a couple of my own designs, unsuccessfully, back in the mid 90's while I was in the Navy. Seems the North Atlantic couldn't do without me, so I never achieved much success. I gave up. It looks like you have quite a rig, and I must say I'm more than a little bit jealous. LOL
There is a lot about land yacht design that is different than a waterborne craft. It relies on the steering wheel to hold course, where one cannot balance the sail, if if there was a jib to work with. And land yachts are unforgiving of variable winds and need a smooth flat surface. But they are loads of fun, where you can run for hours. It's like fishing. If you have a place to run, then a Bat 2 Land Yacht might be for you. The Bat 2 is an elongated & taller version of the Bat 1 in this video. The Bat 2 has a broader operating range. There are other products on the market, but I have to recommend www.modellandyachts.com/ The short story behind the Bat can be found there, too. P.S. You should be jealous: I was 4F so I never got caught up in any of that duty nonsense. ;)
still love the land yachts! thanks for sharing!
my pleasure. especially since thanks to this video I realized my mainstay was slack. winning!
beautiful run
👍
beautiful trail!
I am lucky to have it nearby. It is not very technical, but it's a nice walk. :)
Very very nice crawling, got to get my defender to crawl this nice. Mine is to top heavy 🤣🤪😜☮️😎✝️🙏🏽
I think top-heavy is realistic, and makes the driving fun to do and watch, so it is funny to me that UA-cam just added two suggested replies, one of which is "I find that lowering the ride height helps with the top-heaviness! :)", where the second one has the same level of insightful brilliance & insulting condescension . :P Enjoy the trails!
Hey there, my wife and I just moved to Alexandria Va from California. I have a Maxx slash and an axial scx24. I’ve been trying to find places as well as people to connect with that are into the rc hobby. I’d love to get together sometime. I have made a few rc videos myself since I have been here.
Welcome to the East Coast! I see that you found that high-tension lines can host bashing zones beneath them. And that one never knows what one will find in what I call the scrub woods that pepper the area. ua-cam.com/video/aH0Cknsta0E/v-deo.htmlsi=xNLMcNJSKLRR_ZZx There are active groups, but they tend to be out around Manasas or Fredericksburg, where there are shops that host events & outings. I need to get out to some of those events myself. The neat thing about Alexandria...in addition to Jones Point Park, the best asphalt lot in DELMARVA if not beyond...is that the brickwork can be perfect for an SCX24 (especially once you convert to brushless for the slo-mo action). p.s. Jefferson Manor Park might be reasonably close for your bashing purposes. The parking lot is tiny, where there are parking restrictions in that neighborhood because of the nearby subway station. But, I have always found parking. ua-cam.com/video/Pv-_IAdVOJE/v-deo.htmlsi=Km4zGUBcbDYVUSSY
Awesome climb @ 3:00. Nice 👍🏾🔥
And that was the 'easy' part!
nice run!
great footage
Thanks. This clip came out reasonably well, but it does not capture the steepness of the slope. I need to work on that.
Success!
Great run through the rocks!
I was glad that I got out there. :)
very nice
very cool truck and run!
right out of the box, even!
Excellent little performer!
very nice!
love this truck! 😁
very nice!
Everything is better when it's wet!
so cute!
it’s a family. 😊
very nice
pretty cool
That was a drive by!🤘🚀👊
I have never seen something like this before, thanks for sharing!
RacerRob (below) discovered them, and I have been delighted with them. The operating range is narrow (12-18 knot winds, w/gusts of no more than 20ish knots), and the surface reqiurements are stiif (flat & smooth the lot in the video is pushing it on boht points). But I can spend hours just going back & forth. www.modellandyachts.com/page/494737750
nice stuff!
Indeed: the Serpent GT is the first, and pretty much only, RC where I feel fully in control.
Looks like a great place to race around.
It is! It is hard to find asphalt in good shape in the DC Metro area, much less asphalt without cars all over it. I am very lucky to live near Jones Point Park, and that the bridge was built with asphalt under it instead of dirt.
Been thinking about getting some road racers and drift cars but it's got difficult to get to race tracks as I have bone cancer and I am sometimes limited to driving them outside my residence
Yah. Every time I test run a racer on the road in front of my house I am reminded how dirty it is, providing poor grip and lots of debris in the tray. This VRE (commter rail)) lot is one of the few good surfaces to run on, and even then one has to pick a patch, where the corner we run on is not used much. Turbo racing makes 1:76 RWD racers and drift cars that are a load of fun. When I got sick and could not go outside for awhile, their racers scatched that itch, where I bought up all the Hot Wheels track I could find for running them on. Turbo Racing does sell a track for drifting, but it is a bit small for racing. I also have some Turbo Racing RWD trucks and find they run great on all kinds of surfaces, though not everythingeverywhere (so tiny!) . My cats go crazy for the truck when it runs around under a piece of kraft paper. :)
👍
It took Red a while to realize he was running a different course!
Ditto, and that was with the video! :P
👍
cool 🙂
The great thing abot great handling is that it enables great racing. Not just seeing who makes the most mistakes...though there is still plenty of that here. ::P
thumbs up
nice speed!
And nice handling to boot! www.serpent.com/xcart/cobra-gt-rtr-ep-1-8-ser600045-.html
Your garden is awesome!
Thank you. I have to get the rest of it back up to speed, as there is quite a bit more of it at 1:24th scale. :P
Love your sweet little bridge!
'Cobblestone' Bridge provided 'Design Toscano' (ua-cam.com/video/sqjC4T0XfW8/v-deo.htmlsi=vQzk9rMEei4a7YXA).
Garden? Looks like you are near a river or something. Lol Lots of water around. ;) Looks like time for a new motor as well.. Bummer
I do live only a few miles from the Potomac River, but this is just a couple 'retention ponds' in my yard that would be called "puddles" in any other part of Virginia. But it is enough that I find myself inspired to make a run whenever they fill up. :) p.s. I have been putting off putting in the lights, so the new motor was deserved, in more ways than one. I thought I was going to go brushless, but the RCAWD 55T was so easy I swapped it in. Winning! :)
Looking good brother
Thank you kindly. It took me decades to realize it, but rocks make the best mulch.
I think the new motor is an improvement. Also truck bed tonneau is excellent
Very nice this rc, we don't often see it on yt, great test 👍
There is a certain satisfaction in wind power that one has to experience to fully appreciate. These rc land yachts are a great way to experience that without going 'full boat'.
Really great, but it must be complicated to pilot, right?
To a sailor, it's simple. To most of us, it can be counterintuitive. The difficulty level is set by the playing field: the wind in the Washington DC metro area is never steady, neither in intensity nor bearing. Which is why the red tells (from a bag of kibble) help so much: you can see what is going on out there.
@@JoeOvercoat I think it must be complicated to lead, afterward with training it must be great, but the beginning must be difficult. I once tried this sand yacht (that's how we say in France) on a beach in Normandy but frankly I had a lot of difficulty maintaining a correct course and several times I almost turn around. But it was a good experience 😊
So it turned out you had a screw loose the whole time. Looked like a beautiful day for it
Yah. I thnk on a better surfaace (like under the bridge) I could have gotten some volleys going. And the Bat 1 sail is an efffective storm sail for the Bat 2, though I think it needs another pass-thru on the boom.
wow. this is fun to you? wow.
Hate it when that happens. lol Usually mine end up in the mud or water. lol
Yah, it mght be a good time to swap in the colored nuts I got for that case, along with some Loctite.
Cool stuff dude. Nice driving out there
🤣 at 2:10
Well. It sure seems like a real tank out there. lol
It is that. I don't think I could flip it if I tried, largely by design, the X-Maxx power package notwiwthstanding. But I was considering going to a bigger pinion...
Nice run❤
wow this thing looks great!! Your weathering work?
Fair RC did all the hard work. And while figurine fitment is always problematic, the exploded view in the manual told me all I needed to know to open the cab (but photograph the wiring first!). They do have a listing for the 4X4 version, but it is pre-order (as this one was) @ www.fairrc.com/products/rochobby-1-18-magnum-rtr-rusted-mod-rc-truck?_pos=6&_sid=be86bdb7b&_ss=r p.s. I think the 6X6 configuration needs a stronger steering servo, to overcome the downhill weight on the front wheel, especially on the right wheel when trying to turn left across the downslope.
@@JoeOvercoat That one looks good too. Wow. Seems like a decent price as well
Nice. :)
Looking good man. I have big plans for my Basecamp Scxc10 iii. Looking good out on the yard brother
Consider a DIG to get the 'turn on a dime' performance seen in this rig. p.s. Getting out & about reminds me that I just need a few more stones...
Nice looking rig brother. Great trail run
