nice you got atlas speakers set up though.
The locked mystery door is the utility company's side of the electrical entrance, probably the main transformer and breaker(s).
I'd suggest Andrew is being bummed deeply!
The background organ piece is the Toccata from Leon Boelman's "Suite Gothique"! Love this piece!
Yup, that's the one! It's a classic!
What sort of 32' digital voice was added to the St. Benedict organ? Why would anyone add a 32' stop to a moderately small organ without sufficient tonal foundation to support it musically? Is it a 32' contrebombarde or 32' contrabourdon? As I recall from having played and practiced at the St. Benedict's organ years ago, the Pedal division only had an 8' Principal as its foundation stop, one 16' Posaune, and an 8' Pedal trumpet (extension of 12 pipes up from the Posaune). A second 61 pipe 8' Swell Trumpet could be coupled to the pedal, and a 16' "prepared for" Swell Dulzian (never completed). If a 32' contra bombarde voice (electronic or pipe) were to be added, there should at least be a 16' Principal, and additional 16' 8' 4' reeds added to support it, otherwise it is not likely to sound as it should for lack of sufficient foundation on which to build the ensemble. Most 32' Contre bombardes are found in pipe organs of 45+ ranks in size. Most of those have a pedal ensemble consisting of at least 16' 8' Principal, 16' Bourdon, two 16', two 8' and two 4' reeds and mixture of 3-5 ranks. That would be way too much pedal for the size of the Schlicker organ at St. Benedict's Church. It seems that Herman Schlicker's design, which includes 16' Posaune, 8' Trumpet v. 8' Principal, 16' Bourdon and III mixture with couplerable 8' Swell Trumpet is just enough to achieve tonal balance with the remaining three divisions of that organ.
When you were walking up the stairs and got to the “fan room” what were those for? HVAC or was that for the organ?
Most of it was HVAC. Components for the organ are located in a different part that's closer to the organ pipes.
God bless you all there. Stay healthy & keep safe. Greetings from USE
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Life is certainly unpredictable. Blessings to all who helped and worked so hard. Gratitude for the protection we received 🙏🏻.
Is that Maria providing the background music? Very soothing.
Not this time, it's free background music from online - but she did spend quite a bit of time picking just the right track :)
Hello. I'm curious how much the system cost and did it include installation? Was the tall stack of electronics to the left of the controller part of the system also. I looking for a new system for the church I belong too. Thanks
Sorry for the delay! Easiest way to get a price would be to contact the Verdin Company directly: www.verdin.com/ They offer several different systems and total pricing for installation also depends on any additional electrical work you may need done (running wires, installing outlets, etc). The rack next to the controller is our sound system - so not linked with the bell system at all.
CONFIRMED GOAT!!!!
Couldn’t make it through first few seconds.
Awesome job Andrew! Thank you 🙏🏻
So heartfelt, thank you.
Beautiful! Thank you.🙏🏽
Thank you. These are lovely and wonderful
Well-done! 🙏
Thank you Monsignor Zapfel.
Thank you Colleen! May our prayers be answered, "if it be for the greater glory of God and for the good of our souls."
Very nice! Thank you for helping lead us in our prayer(s) to St. Benedict. Wonderful stories of belonging!

Great job Andy keep up the good work!
Great video thanks andy!
So excited for this new series with Deacon Bill! The windows are beautiful and it will be excellent to get an up close look and explanation. Thank you Deacon Bill for taking the time to do this series.
We are very excited too! So much information and beauty to take in!
Good job andy nice informative video i would like to hear more about the station of the cross certificate.
I can't believe my sister Rose sent me the link to St Benedicts. I am 75 and when I was in Kindergarden, our teacher, Sr Rosalita, showed us this underground space. What a memory to watch the church being built. Masses, while they were building, were in the School Auditorium (if it is still the auditorium?). I now live in Oregon. Thanks you for your website and you tube videos. I will have to watch Mass! God Bless you all.
Hey Dianne, welcome home (virtually 😊)! Thank you for sharing your memories, please comment on the other videos and share any other fun stories you have from our parish/school campus! We are glad technology has made the world a bit smaller and look forward to having you join us for Mass virtually (it's live-streamed on our website: www.saintbenedicts.com). God Bless you 🙏🏻
This is awesome and we're so excited to see what you guys do this year!
I will be watching.
Was there ever a real bell in the tower?
Not as far as we know -- there is a real bell in the school bell tower however!
Great job, Andrew!! Thank you !
Wonderful Andrew, thank you.
I love looking at the nativity scenes.
FYI, a little background information: The figures were originally created for the Canadian Broadcasting Company and then became surplus. Roger and I were attending a convention in Toronto of The Friends of the Crèche, a collectors' group, and the statues were offered there for sale. Fr. Joe had mentioned he was looking for something to replace the plastic statues which had been in use. We told him about them, and he negotiated and made arrangements to purchase them. Getting them over the border was something of an adventure, but nothing like it would be now.
Great, up close look at our beautiful Nativity Set!!
Very great behind the scenes, can you make more videos of the digital carillon (angelus, pealing bells; funeral toll) I enjoyed every minute of this bell video.
Awesome, I live around a mike from the church and can hear them!
Nice
Super cool! Thanks! I was very curious to see where the LE3 goes
Will we each receive our own remote? I can't wait for the Polish Christmas music. I miss it so much from the family Christmases of my youth (yes, I was young once).
Maybe we should auction off personal remotes 😉Polish Christmas music will definitely be featured so stay tuned!!
@@stbenedictsamherst what was the cost for the device and installation?
Thank you for this great video about Tiger's Den. While it is true the food is loaded into our vehicle, people at the 10 a.m. Mass always offer to help. It is very uplifting to see so may people participating in feeding the hungry, a corporal work of mercy.
It is truly a community effort but we are very grateful to you and Roger for all that you do!
That blooper was great! LOL
I liked once again thanks
Thanks for watching!
I always liked the rear view mirror so you can see when the bride arrives at the alter
thanks for showing thats very cool
Maria can you play Bach Sinfonia Cantata 29 or Rondo in G by John Bull? Those are my favorites.
I'll see what I can do! I'll pull out the organ shoes and practice a bit before performing either 🎵
Hi Maria and Andrew ~ how about the gym. the stage (which I believe was where mass was held before the church was built) and behind the stage? Thank you for the "Behind the Scenes!"
Hi Teri! Thanks for the suggestion! You are correct, the gym is where Masses were first celebrated at St. Ben's. We will add that to the list of places to see!
Who rebuilt the Schlicker console? The organ should never be played with street shoes!
Hi Peter, Maria here. I'm not sure about any console rebuild, we had some work done to replace some of the damaged ivory keys but nothing other than that in recent history. It would be great to modernize the whole console though some day!
Welcome to St. Benedict's parish, Msgr. Zapfel!
