It blows my mind that Louis Armstrong performed in the original Jimmie Rodgers recording from 1930, alongside country's first star, and 40 years later he was performing the same song with Johnny Cash, one of the genre's last big stars.

Two of the very greatest performers of the twentieth century, together. Both larger than life, both probably THE representatives of their genres.

Such a beautiful voice. Very calming, peaceful, and brings you to tears.

"Rose" is arranged like that because it's cut out from a medley. The whole performance is actually "Spanish Harlem/Rose". Those "Rose" lyrics were interpolated into the Spanish Harlem Arrangement. It isn't a stand-alone performance of the song.
