Mercedes don't have Laser lights, only LED. Lasers are upto 1000 times brighter than LED.

@@geoffbullock8280 Audi has laser lights + MATRIX LED which is superior to BMW's implementation. Laser doesn't necessarily mean the application allows for luminance levels to exceed exponentially than LED headlights. There are regulations that would prevent a laser headlight to be "1000 times brighter" than a LED headlight.

@@samfoxley8972 That's because laser is being used as a spotlight and that it can produce more light for less energy consumption per unit, making it a good application. That does not make laser always inherently brighter than other LED's. There is a video comparing a laser BMW and a MATRIX headlight and MATRIX clearly had more light output than the laser headlights.

It tracks the cars until they are so close, that it can't turn the headlight more to the left and then disengages the left high beam. The laser beams will go off earlier, but the led high beam stays on until the car on the left lane is too close.

It's been a while, and can't remember exactly but it was a lightened single-mass flywheel at maybe 7kgs, with copper clutch plate. No ITB:s on the engine. Standard m52b28tu DISA (dual length runners) intake with idle valve control removed.

It is best to use M30 engine clutch or E34 M5 clutch with lightened single mass flywheel because they are hub sprung (have those little springs in them) so the clutch rattle is not horrible during MOT car inspection, and they are capable of holding any increased power from headers or ITB.

Yeah, due to the single mass flywheel my car sounded like it had a broken gearbox on any rews below 3000 (horrible gear rattle), this was a race car, not built for street, so that did not matter so much.

BMW option 552, not sure, if it is still available. Our car is 2020 model.

The engine had bigger injectors without actuator insulation, it's the injector noise, that can be heard on the video.

Used an old setup, that did not work so well, also you're right, a bit too much of the loud pedal on the exit of 3rd turn.

Converted the car to Megasquirt 3 and it's temperature sensor took the place of the single sensor mount in the cylnder head. Tried to take the temp from the radiator, but that did not work for some reason. Thus the dashboard needle did not work. I used the reading from MS3 instead.

They are not Laserligt -versions, no. Maybe the naming has changed, the option was "Adaptive Led Headlight" (option 552) back in 2020, when we ordered the car.

Yeah, they work really well, only on some situations on a tight right hand turn on highway speeds, the right side full beam turns off a bit slowly and can momemtarily blind the oncoming traffic.

No, These are Adaptive Led headlights (BMW option 552), which is the second best headlight option for the G05 X5. Lasers (BMW option 5AZ) are better, but these are also really good. The Lasers were about 1400 Eur more expensive option here in Finland and according to the BMW sales representative, give about 100-150 meters more full beam range, which we considered not worth of the money, so we chose the Adaptive Leds.

Wow in Australia we get adaptive LED Headlights standard but not with Adaptive High Beam and Laser as $2k optional Yous certainly do the trick Is it to me is the only reason you would get laser lights other than a slight style difference okay there a little bit brighter but they adaptive High Beam to me was the biggest selling point

Not 100% sure, if I still have the right tune, but try changing the second trigger from Rising edge to Falling edge. ALSO! If the engine runs badly, does not seem to respond on any tune etc, try Ignition input capture on falling edge, did not have that and it took 4 hours in the dyno to figure out.
