I have a theory of my own. Here goes: It is pretty obvious that the master of the valley's purpose was to force the Tricos to capture children, bring them back and get rewarded for it. But what happens to the children? I believe the life of all the kids were sucked out from them gradually when they where inside the Tricos. (The green cocoon where the kids were harvested imprinted tattoos on the kids body and when they flashed, that is what triggered the life-sucking process i am referring to. An example of this is that whenever the boys' tattoos were flashing during the game, he would become immobile and at times looked like he was out of energy because he couldn't move). The symbols ejected from the ''guardians'' had that purpose, to suck the life out of the kid. This energy would become essential for the master of the valley. The energy provided by the children's lives would be used to feed the Tricos as well as providing new ''guardians'' to the valley. The guardians are the metal soldiers who guard the tower in which the master is acommodated. What was the end goal of the master? Maybe it has something to do with the sarcophagus at the very base of the tower. Maybe inside it lies the man or the being responsible for the creation of the whole valley. It was buried alongside the mirror (which is essential due to the connection it has with Trico and how it is used as a key to travel across the whole complex within the tower). To me, the tower's surface was the one crumbling, not because the building itself was going to fall, but because the magical spell of the master of the valley that flowed alongside the entire tower was broken. So now, the mirror might be completely useless within the tower and only connect with the Tricos; the elevator, the fan, the gates, all of that won't function anymore within the tower and to prove us that, the outer layer of the tower's wall crumbled. Personally I think the boy is the last guardian, not Trico. He was the last kid to get captured. He was the last ''guardian'' to look over the master of the valley, only he wasn't following his orders, he destroyed him. He liberated the Tricos and freed his own people from the constant kidnapping of the ''chosen ones'' That is my personal theory, would love to hear your thoughts on this. Great game!
