Fujifilm X-T5 vs Nikon Zf – Real-World Comparison for Street, Travel & Documentary Photography
In this video, I dive into a hands-on, real-world comparison between the Fujifilm X-T5 and Nikon Zf-two cameras that have been making waves among street, travel, and documentary photographers. This isn’t just another spec breakdown; this is a review from a professional photographer who has actually used both cameras extensively in real-world shooting conditions.
I’ll cover:
📷 Handling & Ergonomics - Which camera feels more intuitive on the streets?
📷 Autofocus & Performance - Which one nails the shot when it matters most?
📷 Image Quality & Colors - Fujifilm’s film simulations vs. Nikon’s color science.
📷 Low-Light & High ISO - Which camera holds up better in challenging conditions?
📷 Lenses & System Flexibility - Which ecosystem offers better options for travel & documentary work?

I used the X100V before the XT5 . It’s a great camera. I had big love to it , but the AF there is not very good . Everything other than that is perfect .

I bought the Nikon Zf recently. The screen and the lack of aperture rings on the 40 and the 28 are my biggest gripes. Also, the auto exposure changes when using auto ISO in aperture priority is a bit slower. It doesn't respond quickly according to changing light. It's beautiful to hold and inspiring to shoot with. It just lacks a good, weather-sealed 35mm f2 with an aperture ring. I love it though. I hope Nikon doesn't abandon it and continues with the firmware updates and some compact lenses.

I use the S lenses when weather requires me to. Got used to work without the aperture ring. Didn’t notice the exposure change to be slower . Perhaps in specific scenarios. I find the exposure to be quite responsive. I do wish Nikon to continue with it too.

The Zf has a more gradual change of the exposure priority because by default, the Zf is set to matrix metering, which does an excellent job of preserving highlights. You can simply change it to perform more like a Fujifilm X-Series camera by changing the metering method. I’ve grown to enjoy the gradual change and I rarely reach for my Fujifilm cameras at all nowadays.

Hi, greetings from UK. I loved your photos! Just the inspiration I need. I'm travelling to India next month, for 6 weeks. I'll spend a month in Rishikesh and ten days in Varanasi. I have spent a lot of time travelling India on many occasions, though only once to Varanasi, 22 years ago. I had a cheap Canon digital camera, point and shoot. With a 32 megabyte SD card. It would be full quite quickly, than I had to find a shop that would copy the photos on to a compact disc, so I could erase the SD card and take more photos. Those were the days! Unfortunately I accidently erased most of the pics I took in Varanasi before I burned them on to a CD. That sucked. But it will not happen again! This time I have a Canon 5D IV, a 35mm f/2.0 IS USM lens, and a Sigma 24-105mm art lens. And two 256GB ultra SD cards plus 1TB SSD to back them up. And a Gopro Hero 12. These are the days! There is no country in the world as photogenic as India, and no city as photogenic as Varanasi. I hope when I am there I can take some pictures half as good as yours. I can't wait to try! I have booked a room close to Dasaswamedh Ghat. From 20th to 30th October. If you happen to be in Varanasi, give me a shout, we can meet for a chai.
