Seriously, thank you for putting this up. I was not yet a fan, but I had way too many things going on in my life at the time. Still, I don't know why I didn't come across them until 1985. I was hooked by the first song I heard, but I can't remember which song it was. I was on my way to work, wrote a note to myself as soon as I got to work, then at the end of the day before coming home, I was at the record store buying my first Bon Jovi CD. I couldn't wait to get it unwrapped and into my CD player. After that, I started getting a nice sized collection of Bon Jovi CDs. As soon as I knew they had a new one out, I bought it. I grew up in the 70's, and I've gone through photo albums from those years, and our clothes weren't any better than this, just different. Not only were these guys smokin' hot, they wrote and sang the most incredible songs I'd ever heard from one artist/band. I still love the boys from Jersey!!!
Great, it's never too late to start, but Bed of Roses was not 1985. It was 1992, in Keep the Faith album.
@@ivanmifsud6972 Damn, I knew my timeline had to be wrong. I had to think of things that happened during the time when the song came out. I'm guessing I must have heard something before Bed of Roses but I still think that was the first of their albums I bought. I'm going to go back and correct my comment. Thanks for letting me know my timing was wrong. That was 7 years!! I don't know why I was that far off. Thanks again, I guess my memory loss is getting worse a little faster than I thought it was. It's so embarrassing.
@@survivrs no embarrassment intended!! I'd guess you started from Livin on a Prayer or Bad Medicine, not Bed if Roses!! I've been a fan since Livin on a Prayer but went on my first BJ concert in 2019!!! How's that for tardiness!?

Maria A. The R&R HOF came to them 9 years later than it should have. They were eligible in 2009 and got their first nomination in 2011, but according to Jon, the guy who ran Rolling Stone vowed to make sure they NEVER got in. They were first nominated in 2011, and I'll never know why they didn't get in then except for the reason I already listed. Finally they were nominated in 2018, and like many other people, I voted for them every single day until voting was closed. They had over a million votes to be put in the Hall, ahead of everyone else, the most notable being The Moody Blues who got over 900,000 votes. As for 40 years of marriage, you're off by a few years. Jon and Dorothea have been married for 31 years, 4 less than my husband and I. And it wasn't even a "shotgun wedding". His voice isn't what it used to be, but I don't care, they will always be my favorite rock band.

@@mariaaguila577 When you've got a face like Jon, you could go anywhere, wearing just about anything and pull it off. He gets so pissed when he hears the "girls" talking about how good looking he is, he wants "us" to appreciate the music he and the guys wrote (mostly Jon and Richie, but David can write great music also. I have to agree with Jon about their song writing skills, but being a woman myself, I'm sorry but I just have to stare at that eye candy while I enjoy the songs.

the date is actually April 1984. the tour w/Scorps began that month. so there you go. on this tour BJ opened for Scorps in America and Kiss in England. very, very fortunate and great management don't hurt either
But Scorpions kicked their ass off on 1984 tour when they touring with them that time
@@MattDubVR i'm sure they did and rightfully so. BJ didn't have any good songs in 84 and didn't hit their stride for another 2 years. Scorps were seasoned veterans and a full force during that year

Lucky Town and Human Touch are by no means fantastic albums but I still like to listen to now and again. There's no E Street Band present so I think it completely lets them down. Some good songs on those albums but by no means as good as the E Street Band era.

Izzy, I can remember being so "youthful" back then because I'm 3 years older than Jon, and as much as I love the songs they write, they can't just throw their handsome faces and bodies out the window. That is the best eye candy for miles, but I haven't aged as well as the guys in the band have. I wish Jon would keep his hair colored because I can never get used to the gray. That must be why I keep my own colored. I've still got plenty of brown, but too much white hair to go with it. When the COVID 19 is no longer an issue, I'm getting my hair cut and colored again. If things never go back to normal, I'll clip my own hair.
The only time I have ever saw them was on that tour they were about to start with the Scorpions . Great show !!
