Conrail's Lucknow Continuous Welded Rail facility tour - June 07, 1990. This was one of the tours during the Penn State Rail Symposium, which was held in Harrisburg, PA, that year. Process includes unloading bolted rail off inbound train, unbolting and removing joiner plates, cropping off the drilled holes, polishing the ends for the welding process at 7:40, grinding and polishing finished weld, and then loading back onto an outbound rail train. This facility closed shortly after NS took over in 1999.
