Hello Chinthi! It was great hearing your story and thank you again for all the work you do for Pro Bono. There must be so much to think about on a daily basis and it's a good thing you're a night owl! You and Andrew seem to make a great team and this certainly helps make things run very smoothly on Pro Bono.

What an imaginative way to reach across generations to provide support and encouragement while sharing knowledge and skills. It sounds like a wonderful program.

As Andrew said, for a translator a text is just another text to translate, but it makes a big difference when you know what's behind that text and the scope of the work of these organisations that aim at making life better for so many people who have faced hardship in so many different ways.

What a great organisation Elaine works for! What you, your volunteers and donors do is truly amazing - keep up the good work!

I love this interview! I have a sister who decided to start a new life in the U.S. and healthcare is an important topic. As a member, I hope that we can continue collaborating with this wonderful organization for many years.

I really like what Frederic Hache says about ProZ Pro Bono: “…it was an incredible collaboration because you managed to translate [the video script] into a lot of languages and not only that but also to find incredibly generous volunteers who agreed to put their face on the movie and this is really rare and precious, this is the kind of thing that makes a difference… that gives me hope in humankind…”

Hope I will get a chance to be involved in translating for Wikipedia one day. It must be a very interesting assignment.

I wish there were more people thinking like Duane Elgin. I was real proud to take part in the Choosing Earth project.

"49 years ago, they already knew" about our dwindling resources. I'm so happy to know about this client, Duane Elgin, and his book Choosing Earth --beautifil title. It's a critical translation project, exactly the kind of book that I would love to translate into French.

Getting to better know and understand clients is a great thing. James and Andrew raise the problem of languages, all the more important for a project that spreads medical knowledge and makes things understandable to most people. Beside linguistic skills, pedagogy may also add its pinch of salt though.
