More preparation for the big changes. Out with the old, in with the new in soon. Too much neglect lately but that should change. Big projects outside the greenhouse are nearly done so I can put more time into it.

    Thank you dear sir, you really saved me here. I lost a lot of time getting this setup and your video was the only accurate resource I could find online. Unf Shelly does not provide nearly enough information on DC wiring, which as a non-electrician, I always find very confusing and counter-intuitive, esp compared to AC wiring. What was most helpful for me in your video was pausing the video so I could see how your wiring was routed, which I replicated, and all worked perfectly. For my setup, I am using the Shelly to send DC power from my battery bank to a Bluetti solar generator between 8am to 10pm, basically as a DC power timer. Thank you again.

    Thanks for the video and good info. Im told thus akso helps increase the kH for a goldfish tank, is that thr case? Once the required level of pH and kH is achieved, should the bag be removed or can be left? Also whats the measure per litre or US gallons when addding this?

    • @penguinponics
      @penguinponics 5 місяців тому

      Typically there is only so far it will raise the pH meaning it'll be harmless to leave it. However if you have a smaller system and you're worried about any potential spike feel free to remove them. I'm running about 500 gallons of water so it's never been an issue for me.

    I like the size of the greenhouse but do you use it to grow until ready to pick or replant outside to finish growing then pick?

    • @penguinponics
      @penguinponics 11 місяців тому

      Some things start as seed indoors, others start as seed in the greenhouse. Nothing comes out until they done. And I would double the size in a heartbeat if I had any choice!

    When I hear how some governments around the world want to restrict farms and bring back covid lockdowns makes me appreciate the WWII victory gardens and the benefits that can make us all by not counting on our government by joining with our neighbours and create local produce and creating neighbourhood coops.

    Always love watching your updates! Can I ask the reason for your fans blowing at the plants? Is it for moisture control, pollination or to make the plants stronger? I am struggling with really thin leaves on my lettuce (not very enjoyable to eat) and about to install some fans too to see if it would improve things. Looking for ward to the next update

    • @penguinponics
      @penguinponics Рік тому

      You got two out of three. Pollination and making the plants stronger. Also cooling since the greenhouse can get quite warm. And it helps shed extra solar so it isn't just wasted energy.

      Yes. We built that using the yoga ball method. The blue tiles are just decorative around the base. It works pretty well but we tend to use a cast iron pan for reliability when cooking in there.
