Pusha T - DAYTONA (FIRST REACTION/REVIEW)
Ozma is a great album and I think has influenced a hell of a lot of bands !!!! I’m sure your a fan of other Melvins work but if you haven’t got the album stag i highly recommend it!!!!!!!! It’s my favourite Melvins album ! I have been collecting Melvins vinyl and cd’s for about 26 years and I have saw them live 3 times !!! And they have never disappoint me once !!!
Not mentioning chip differences, The proper way to compare the rat versus the flat iron fuzz is to make sure you turn the filter on one of the pedals in the opposite direction. Flatiron is set up like a white face rat, meaning the filter controls are reversed from a standard rat. Turning it to 3:00 on the rat is like turning the flat iron to 9:00. Those are the equal values. Turning them both to 3:00 would not equal the same settings.
Flatiron rulezzzz 🤟🤟
DUDE YOU GOTTA LISTEN TO MG ULTRA!!!
@JBBladersOfficial got through some of it, sounds fire so far 🔥
@@submarinemedia8316 nice man😆 your videos are really entertaining btw
Allen Thomas Moore Michelle Garcia Karen
Great Demo! I was wondering what the difference was. I have the Flat Iron and I like that it’s a more reasonable “Fuzztortion”. I do think it might shine with an EQ or EQ/Boost pedal after it, like the JHS clover
@Fostext what a coincidence, I just moved and that was the first pedal I messed around with. I got a couple amps but I put it through a Vox with the drive low enough on both the pedal and amp and that bad boy shimmers, but with balls you know? I got the clover too. Things pretty nice. Cheers brother 🍻
How do you like the fuzztortion? I never played it.
@@submarinemedia8316 oh very cool! I don’t have the Clover yet, but it’s going to be my next purchase. And I know what you mean, yeah the Flatiron has some good low end. And that’s cool you are cascading the Vox’s drive with the Flatiron’s. I’ve been experimenting with that as well, trying out 2 at a time, all with their drive low: The Orange Getaway Driver, The Wampler Tumnus mini, and the Flatiron fuzz. Cheers brother 🍻
First 3 secs was so fire i had to sub
@@Kolmeeraitaashiwaas thank brotha for watching
@Kolmeeraitaashiwaas I don't make videos much anymore, but if you looking for more like this I have a playlist call Suicide Saturdays, playlist full of this stuff. Cheers 🍻
Fuck yeah!!! Great album and great video!
I feel like what makes this album is the vocals. Like in most aggressive music, the vocals have a super menacing vibe, like you’re running away from the music. But I feel like machine girl (Matt) sings and screams in a way that sounds absolutely panicked and in terror. Like the singer is running for their life, away from some insane cosmic horror beyond comprehension. I also feel like the character in this album being in such panic makes it so that you, the listener, are the insane powerful being in this situation. It makes the album really invigorating It. also makes moments where Matt is being more intimidating like the closer feel suuuper powerful and triumphant, like the weight is off their chest and now they just get to feel like the fucking goat. 10/10 album. Even after shit like death grips and 100gecs and other modern hardcore had kinda lost its edge for me, this album still feels as deranged and insane and empowering as the first time I heard it.
Top rate Demo!!!
Thanks for watching my dude
This video is a few years old but definitely has me excited to try this pedal out!
Still one of my faves, I don't do videos to much on ped a ls anymore but I've been thinking of some interesting ways to use this. Might post just because. I'd get it get it though probably cheap on reverb. Cheers 🍻 and thanks for watching
I feel like you should try out Gemini, also by machine girl
Rare alt sighting
The other right...
awesome reaction man! the track うずまき means Uzumaki
Thank brother, and thanks for watching!
Awesome
Thank you 😎
If a good amount of money was in my budget rn, I would offer to buy this from you. I've wanted this for a few years.
I miss the hell outta this pedal, I sold it about 2 years ago 😭
@@submarinemedia8316 aww man...
Where has he gone?
Nice Akira tut!! :)
Did you have to pay any additional import tariff fees?
I dont remember paying anything crazy and this thing definitely came from over seas. Most of the ones I ever see on ebay do.
Ehx share on their site (in the description) that this is their take on a 🐀
I've got a volca drum and volca keys, love playing with them, but I feel like I'm missing one more volca to complete a trifecta of awesome. I'm torn between a volca bass and a volca samples.
Do the Volca fm, you love it and its got good bass sounds or ypu can input sounds from an actual Dx.I had the bass it's not that cool, I had the behringer 303 and it worth the extra few versus
Your Rat is missing its legs. Mine had rubber feet on the bottom.
The weird sounds at the end of the video are the "artifacts" they refer to in the instructions. I play primarily clean and even acoustic and I hate the artifacts they can be useful with fuzz/ distortion in a Hendrixian sort of way.
It’s awesome just bought one… you will lose hours with this. I have no idea what I am doing and I still think it’s amazing
Getting mine today. I only wish I'd ordered it during lockdowns (as some did). Would've been a nice way to spend the hours and I would be fully up to speed with it by now.
This is why i love so much this pedal, i don't know any other that kind do this kind of stuff in the glitch world of pedals, neither on boutique stuff i've heard this before. It's like the FFT synth engine of electro harmonix and vocoders, this kind of effect it can't be classified very simply.
The Rat is one of my favs for bass. Sounds like I need to give the Flatiron a try...
This is really nice. I guess I have to get on it with using mine's send/return.
how do you feel about this album now?
It's actually aged very well and it's a pretty easy listen 🎶
Sound????
Thus video has sound my friend. Or by this did you mean how does it sound?
please use a microphone headset to amplify your voice. at times, it is difficult to hear what you are saying. I like the way you demonstrate the pedal, that's excellent. it would be even more excellent if I could hear what you are saying. thank you.
Thank fir the tip, I'll see what I can do!
Really great video. I don't mind all the yapping. It helped me realize that I need this for more simple stuff. I like the tracking abilities on the swell. The polyphonic is fun. Anyway, nice job.
Thanks brother!!! in the process of revamping so expect way more gear soon.
Flatiron fuzz has been on my radar for some time. Loving the low end and it keeps the clarity. Ugh, I guess I'll be buying another fuzz pedal!! 😜
I thought I'd be getting rid of one of them but even though that have a nice filter, each one has a different tone. Rates a classic, but I actually really like the flat iron with just it and an amp nothing else.
WFLGRL is another album of the artist’s, my interpretation for mchngrl vs wlfgrl is if you’ve listened to wlfgrl, you could definitely hear elements of that album (mainly dnb rave stuff etc) in the beginning and it merges with elements from BIYAAHEYSF pretty cool if i say so
I think this pedal really likes its own particular power supply. I've heard it doesn't perform quite as well in a daisy chain.
I haven't had any problems with or without the daisy chain.
9 minutes and 43 seconds imo is the perfect cold glass of water in between dumbass and bullet hell the composition of this album is awesome
This is the first video ive watched of yours and this is great. You should listen to gemini its a lil chiller
Same band or is this a different group?
@@submarinemedia8316 its still by machinegirl, its a litlle bit longer and is more ambiance/vibe than arrogant but its still a great project
Whered you get it?
Sorry for the late response. I got it Amoeba brother 😎
Great idea running a loop trough the box while turning the knobs but the sound itsel sounds very thin.
to answer your question, no you didnt. manufacturers will do their own versions of a popular circuits, and usually make their own tweaks. on top of that, even same brand/model pedals can vary from each other because of component differences.
Great video! I recently bought one of these, and I mostly play bass, but I can see a lot of practical applications as well as all the fun noise.
Awesome I’m glad you liked the video. I’m gonna be doing a redo of this video, and go deeper into the effects. Stay tuned my dude
Thanks so much for posting. This was a big help. Korg’s manuals always keep things mysterious for some reason.
No problem brother!!! I’ll be doing more gear and favorite album Friday’s stuff soon so stay tuned!!!
Awesome. So nice to see early Melvins getting some love. Every drum hit is like getting punched in the chest.
Right? The guitars Tones on those early albums are insane. You are so right about those drum sounds by the way. I love how the last track on Bullhead they just kill you with that epic drum solo🔥🔥🔥
@@submarinemedia8316 you might dig Joe Preston’s (ex-Melvins) solo project, Thrones. It’s just Bass and drum machine. Super heavy and weird. ua-cam.com/video/XacI2AknauM/v-deo.html
@@Plastic_Chamber I’ll definitely have to check this out. Especially if that shit is weird!!!
video starts, looks at his shirt, looks down at my shirt "dude sick, samesees!"
Late comment, but you don't actually need to hold function to switch between layers
Helpful. Thanks.
You welcome 🙏🏾
Soo what happend ? You enjoyed the qy70 so much that you never uploaded a video again ?
Ehx rules !
Reading the comments I'm starting to think the difference is in the rubber feet not being on the bottom of the Rat? But I agree the Flatiron seems to be fuller, fatter, and on my wishlist!
I just wanna call this guy up & explain to him where the Goldilocks zones are in this pedal, haha, I'm sure it gets better, but I had to give up outta frustration, plus I'm looking for external clock triggering info, & I don't think he'll get to that.
Share these goldilocks mate. Not an easy pedal to dial in, especially with all the secondary settings too
Nice demo man!
