I think you’ve misunderstood the concept of a commonplace book - it is a collection of knowledge (like information about different art styles eg. Pointillism; who were the most well known artists of that style, was it prominent in a certain period, did it evolve from another art style? Or leadership - what personality traits make a good leader? Or research on mental health/happiness - there are lots of research papers on what does make people happy so compiling the findings from those papers would build a great commonplace book. The journal you are making is more of a brain dump with your thoughts/ideas/things I want to read one day/things I want to buy one day rather than knowledge gleaned from others on a topic you will want to refer back to later. I am ADHD and I think brain dumping is awesome because I can never remember what I was thinking so having one place to scribble thoughts down rather than on random sticky notes that get lost is brilliant to keep track. The ADHD thing is called body doubling where you have someone else working alongside you (they don’t need to be doing the same thing, just the fact they are doing something productive influences you to do a productive thing you need to do).
