Good morning Don The back does get hot, but not so hot that it's going to damage the wall where it's hung. The heat rises upwards, and the fireplace gets very warm at the hot. Hope this clarifies a bit. Best Regards, Sara

It will make an unclean combustion, since it ceramic logs. It can make a bad smell :) So that's why we don't recommend to place it on top of the flames. :)

Si le problème persiste malgré ces précautions, il pourrait être judicieux de faire vérifier la cheminée par un professionnel pour s'assurer que le brûleur fonctionne correctement, et que la combustion du bioéthanol soit efficace. :)

@@BioFireplaceGroup hi,imagifuel deep forest I’ve taken the ceramic logs out now as I think they were the culprit Perhaps I had them too close to the flame 🤷‍♂️ I’ll try it again tonight on full ,see what happens 👍

@@theboozycyclist1096 yes, we don't recommend to have ceramic logs directly on top of the flames. So if they were very close to the flames, it could be the reason. Let us know if it continues :)

Hi there. Sorry to hear you're not satisfied with your Cocoon. It's a great fireplace and we love it at the office! Did you get the tools that comes with the fireplace to lift it out? How about the extinguishing tool? What bioethanol fuel did you get? The quality varies from brand to brand, and we ALWAYS recommend to get a bioethanol fuel with an alcohol percentage between 95-97.5%. That might also be why the flames only flicks a few inches above the rime of the opening. Hope this helps you a bit. Would be a shame if you couldn't enjoy this beautiful fireplace. @@fitbody69 You put the fibre cotton inside the box, if you already have a bioethanol burner. But as I said, the ceramic cotton is typically already inside a bioethanol burner when ordering one.

@@grassblade2 All fireplaces will have a orange flame. So, the flames are going to look real. They can be a bit blue at first, but they just need a couple minutes to get started and get that real orange flame.
