Funny Table Tennis point - Last second save of the high ball that swung back
Interesting point from my Sydney Northern Districts match on the second (far) table, high-ghost ball that swung back and I got my bat to it just before it landed

A PIFR training flight from Bankstown to Bathurst, capturing most of the radio calls. The RNP 35 approach to YBTH starts from BTHSG, with one holding pattern at BTHSG. A harbour Scenic One from Bankstown. Heading into Parramatta, the visibility looked very low (rain in the area), so turned around and headed back via Prospect into Bankstown.

My cousin Vishnnu came visiting from Melbourne. Took him out for a scenic flight over Sydney Harbour in a Cessna 172 SP. We took off from the Bankstown airport (Sydney) and followed the route Bankstown Parramatta Hornsby Long Reef Harbour Bridge and back via Prospect. Here are the highlights.

This is part 2 of the below flight: ua-cam.com/video/ZBq7k-PCm64/v-deo.html Pilot in Command for this leg is Julio. I'm in the rear seat, out of view of the camera. This one is the leg from Sydney (YSSY), taking off from Runway 16R, thru Sydney Heads, Long Reef, Hornsby, Prospect and onto Bankstown (YSBK), landing on Runway 11L. Have captured all the relevant radio calls etc.
Bankstown to Sydney International in a Cessna

As airline traffic is low due to the COVID situation, Sydney airport has been letting GA pilots experience landing/takeoff at YSSY. This video shows highlights from one such flight, from Bankstown airport to Sydney, under VFR rules. Have recorded all radio calls including taxi instructions (you can see the ATC was very patient with us). Refer to ERSA for frequencies. The route is: Bankstown air...

Which flight academy?
Not thru a flight academy. I hired the aircraft privately on www.sydneyaircrafthire.com.au/
@@hansrd Thanks for the info.
My first solo was at Bankstown thank you indeed. Will always remember cloud ceiling lowered as it does there sometimes was at 1000ft bout to commence to short final was VFR asked tower for cloud ceiling 500ft they knew i was first solo vectored me straight in, before I broke cloud level on my right hand side I saw what maybe was a 747 at the time and the exit slope full run and climbing, in having said that it was many miles off coming out of Kingsford Smith Mascot what a sight 2 behold indeed. Memory that will never fade watching it pierce the cloud level and making its way out. Long reef Norther Beaches Collaroy Narrabeen on your left with two high rise towers Flight Deck and forget the name of the other one but there was on the beach only two towers at the time Dee Why then Brookvale then Dee then Manly on your right , nice way point it was at the time a huge golf course on the headland , the spit bridge another recognizable way point VFR. Thank you for the ATC and commentary takes me back a few decades or so. never flew into the heavy iron space at Mascot nicely done and again thank you. 2 much dirty air there even if vectored in , just me I guess.
Unusual attitudes in actual IMC?
You is pro dude😎
Good stuff mate
I landed at Sydney during my training in 1981. “Keep your speed up, there’s a 747 behind you.” 😮 “Take the high speed taxiway to the left.” Probably the most memorable event from my training.
Very good video, good work
Thank you very much!
That was very interesting.
Nice job
Thanks for the videos.. i am going to rent this plane soon and fly my 9 years old son for the first time ... :) any suggestion to fly this plane and the scenic one route?
FWC is a very nice plane. Very well maintained, IFR capable, with an auto pilot, and even has a BRS parachure. Enjoy your flight. I have done the scenic one route several times, here's a video with more detailed commentary and radio calls for this route: ua-cam.com/video/TKMHeceerFc/v-deo.html
We all went through this.
Amazing.
Very enjoyable video. I am surprised that you landed on the big runway, but i am so glad you got that opportunity.
Thanks 👍
How much for landing fees there?
I paid $132.86 all up. The detailed breakdown: 1) $60 Runway Charge. The cost is $6.59 per 1000 kilos, but has a $60 minimum. There's no explicit "landing" charge. 2) $0.39 Passenger & Airfield Security charge. The cost is $0.34 per 1000 kilos. The aircraft MTOW was 1160 kgs, so this works out to $0.39. 3) GST of 10% on the above 4) Multiple the above figure $60.39+GST by 2 as there are 2 flight plans, one for theleg going in and one for the leg flying out. The prices as of 2021 are here: assets.ctfassets.net/v228i5y5k0x4/1viJiqYujos0vpFcfQbdTo/e511a967130e61e5ab7f1e90d51dcc5e/Table_of_Charges_COU_Version_2.42_-_1_Jan_2021.pdf
Worth it for the logbook entry and experience! 😂
must like this one
Thanks 👍

Cannot hear, audio is very low. Can you do more videos on IFR training please. Thank you
Hi, yes I had tech issues with the Gopro on a couple of videos. Had to get a new gopro. Here's a later IFR flight to YBTH, with all the calls: ua-cam.com/video/bs1n5k5GEzA/v-deo.html
Nice clear video..This looks like a nav training flight, although i don't know of any flight schools at Bankstown that use a 172. May i ask how long it took to get to Bathurst, thank you
hi, from memory it took just less than an hour. This was a private flight on a rented 172. The plane is available here: sydneyaircrafthire.com.au/
