Good luck James, tough marathon that, did it in 2022, surprisingly hilly!
Just what I didn’t want to hear 😂. I’ll make sure I get some good hill training in beforehand. Thanks for watching mate.
Best of luck with the new training block James. Gives you something to work towards as we head into 2025. 😎🤘
Cheers Ben, looking forward to staying motivated. Wishing you and the family a great Christmas mate!
Just to finish in that heat is amazing and 3.52 brilliant time, must have been brutal. I did the half and that was hard enough lol😂
Thanks Danny, I think the heat did play a part in the second half, I’ll use that as my excuse 😂 Well done on the half mate! Hope you had a nice trip too.
Amazing work dude, looked like a warm one 😅😅 Cracking video!
Thank you, was a bit warm🥵. Just signed up to Southampton marathon which should be a bit more manageable with the heat 😊
@@Ijustkeptrunning you're a marathon machine 😮😮
Marathons are supposed to be hard work 💪 Great effort. Nice to see some sunshine.
Thank you, could have done with a few more days in the sun for sure.
Great running James! Thanks for taking us along for the ride. The weather looked superb. 😎🤘
Thanks Ben, weather was great, and managed to dodge the storm back at home too 👍
All the best for Lanzarote, hopefully not quite as warm as GC was last year.
Thanks mate, Apparently it’s going to be another heat wave. 🥵
Good luck with the race 💪
Thank you, looking forward to get out there ☀️ 🏃🏼♂️
Trying to find comfy, grippy trail shoes shouldn't be so difficult, should it? 😅 I have the Asics Trabuco Max 2. They're very cushioned, and have decent grip on all surfaces, except really deep mud. My only problem is i get blisters after more than 20km. Let us know if you find some good ones! 👍🙂
Cheers Mark, I’ll have a look at those. It’s a minefield out there looking for the perfect shoe. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Good to see you back on the tube James. Can't believe it's been that long since your last video. Best of luck with the marathon. Hope your head's alright mate. Stay safe! 😎🤘
I know, I’ve definitely been slacking over the past few months. 😂 Cheers mate, can’t wait for some winter sun too!! Congratulations on your epic run recently too! Unbelievable !
Any idea how many participants overall for the spring marathon ?
Was that Compede? It's the devil! Get sterile needles, tiny alcohol wipes, fleecy web and KT tape. And you missed the last Check Point! My one chance at fame 😂
Nice video. Criminally low views. You back this year? If so I may see you there. Loved King last week, roll on Stones in three weeks.
Great to chat on RTTK this morning and hope the run went well 👍🏻
Great chatting to you too, it was going well till the hills in the last 15k 🥵😂. Otherwise it was a great race. Good luck when you take on RTTS
Another great marathon, looked like a great place to visit and looked a tough marathon 😅
Great run as ever 👏🏼 I now want to do it (the half) just for the post race snacks, and beer and blue lagoon afterwards! 😁
Thank you, you should definitely do it, the blue lagoon is the perfect incentive to get you round faster 😅
Great Running James, the views of the marathon looked epic. no PB today but you spent most of it alone and had a blast. Keep pushing :)
Cheers Bradley, I was definitely lucky with the weather and I was pretty pleased with the time. It’s all going in the right direction for a PB one day soon 🤛
Top running James! Even though it wasn't a PB you still put down a cracking result bud! 👏🏅
Thanks Ben, that PB is just on the horizon, I know it. Enjoyed it all the same though.
Just subbed to the channel! Congrats 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks Rich, hopefully I can recover in time for the next one 😬😂
Well done mate! Nice one getting the sub 4. Lovely to share our brief time together at the station barriers and good luck for the next one!
Great video! I found the first 18 miles to be good but from Hove it was vile! Just waiting for the finish line, but those roads up and down Hove were a killer. Something about seeing all the runners ahead in one straight line made it nasty! Still would do again! Unbelievable experience
I hear you there, it was gruelling near the end. Well done to you for getting it done too 👏👏 Thanks for watching
Cracking run out there, it was an incredible day 🙌 we’ve just subscribed, keep up the good work and good luck for your next marathon 😅
It was, bit windy, but otherwise a perfect day. Thanks for the sub and followed you back 👍
Spoke with you in the waiting room at Haywards Heath Station, well done on a great run
Great chatting to you, hope you had a good race, and didn’t struggle like I did near the end. 😅
Good run, i pretty much cramped up where you did. Its that long ass road towards Hove (through the residential house's) that killed me
Yes, I saw a lot of people stretching out around that area too. That was the point of the race I gave up on the PB, and went into survival mode 😂 Well done to you for Sunday too 👏
@Ijustkeptrunning that was my first ever marathon, I felt OK until about 18 miles then my hammy, calves and ankles started really hurting. Amazing experience though
Top run James and well done for capturing the atmosphere. Nice to meet you on the walk to Preston Park. I set out way too quickly for the hills then struggled at Madeira Drive. Still happy with a 3h58m finish and learned something (mainly that marathons are flipping hard!) Looking forward to seeing Reykjavik - enjoy!
Great to meet you too, So glad you managed a good time on your first official marathon 🎉🎉. Hopefully catch you at some future marathon events, that’s if it hasn’t put you off for life 😂
Nice video and well done mate! I am also in the blue wave and I finished 3:50. We are very close.
Thank you, and congratulations to you for Sunday. You probably passed me at some point when the wheels started to fall off for me 😂
Well done, I did the marathon as well, it was my first one. Wondering how hard it felt compared to others?
It was definitely a tough one out there 😅, congratulations to to for getting it done on Sunday too 🎉
It was tough around Hove. Seemed to go on for ever! My 14th marathon and I’d put in my top 3 in terms of a mental challenge - the other 2 being a marathon in the empty Saudi Arabian desert in 2002 and one in the drab suburbs of Belgrade back in 2006.
Nice video and well done . I also finished Brighton yesterday was certainly tough with the wind.
Thank you, hopefully I captured how tough it was at times. Well done to you 👏👏
Congratulations James! A great effort! Any ultra’s this summer?
Thank you, Yes I have actually, I’m doing Race to the King in June (50k coastal) How about you?
@@Ijustkeptrunning that should be a good one. I’ve signed up (provisionally) for North Down Way 100m in August. Let’s how my training goes. Rest and recovery and have another great run in Iceland 🙌
100 miles, kudos to you for that, I’m not sure I could do that distance yet. Maybe one day. Good luck in your training if you do end up doing it .
How much do you weigh? At times, to me, you look like a "Big Boy McCoy" type of fella =FAT! At other times, you look fit. Which one is it? haha
Well done mate! Rest up and smash it again in Iceland
Thank you, yes a lot of rest over the next 2 weeks is definitely needed 😅
Cracking run James! It might not have been a PB but you still put down a superb performance mate! Huge kudos! Look forward to the next one mate! 😎🤘
Cheers mate, I’m pleased with the result, especially as the training didn’t quite go to plan.
Epic racing here, you might not have got the PB but with the issues youve had and going off too quickly still smashed it. few more weeks until the Reykjavik Marathon and see how you get on. time to recover and go again
Cheers again Bradley. If you offered me that time before the race, I’d have snapped your hand off, so I’ve got to be pleased. Now a bit of R&R before Iceland 😊
Nicely done 👍🏻🏃♂️ Hopefully you recover quickly for the next one!
Thank you, I hope so too! 😅
Great running James 💪
Thank you Harry, now time to recover 🥵😅
Good luck. All the hard work is done. Enjoy it 👌
you've got this James. im looking forward to seeing the race on the weekend. wishing you luck for sunday
Best of luck James. Enjoy race day mate! 😎🤘
Can’t wait to run this. Great briefing. I’ll check the details for parking and arriving
Great training! You’re killing it! 🤓
Training going well. Best wishes out there.
Thank you.
Smashing it 💪
Thank you 🙏🏻
Another solid week ticked off James! Race day is closing it mate. Super exciting. Enjoy the taper now bud. 😎🤘
Thanks Ben, I have to say, it’s a bit of a relief to be on the taper now 😅
Great running! Looks like trainings gone well, best of luck at Brighton
Cheers Harry, not long now 😬
I can relate with the professional stretching 😂I have been doing some turbo training too to supplement the running, and have been finding it quite good. thanks for the recap!
Yeah, I think I’m at an age where I need to mix up the training a bit, and the turbo training is a great addition, I’m really enjoying a bit of Zwift at the moment (not that I’m any good 😂)
Top work gents! 👏 Good to get out there and get it done despite the race being postponed. A great week of training mate despite the niggles mate. 😎🤘
Yeah, the niggles just keep on coming 😭. Not the greatest prep but hopefully done enough to put in a decent performance on race day. I’ll probably sign up for the sheer 42k, but I’ll probably do the half marathon as I have a long wedding to shoot the day before. (Not sure I’ll be in the mood for a full marathon 🥵)
@@Ijustkeptrunning the joys of running mate 🤣 I am sure you will put down a solid performance James. 💪 Good call on the sheer 21k that's also a superb race. Look forward to seeing you there mate! 😎🤘
a nice week of training here. i guess cutting back does help a little. not too long to go until the big day and looking forward to see how you get on :-)
Yeah, it’s not ideal, but just trying to be sensible and be as prepared as possible for the race days, and without injury.
Good job making the best of a rescheduled race day! 🤓
Well the training had been done, so we thought why not! Thanks for watching 😊
Nice one James, great to see all the variation in your training, looking good for Brighton! Will keep an eye out for you out there, planning on going down to watch 😃
Thanks Ben, I feel that variation is the key now I’m getting older 😩. Hopefully see you at Brighton.
