Santa Fe is one of the fifteen municipalities that constitute the province of Nueva Vizcaya. It is located at the southern highway boundary of the province and Cagayan Valley Region along the Maharlika Highway.
Sixteen (16) barangays comprise the Municipality. The barangays of Baracbac, Poblacion, Villaflores, Baliling, Bacneng, Sinapaon, and Balete settle along the Santa Fe River and its tributaries. Along Imugan River and tributaries are barangay Imugan and Unib. Barangay Buyasyas is an isolated community situated along Buyasyas River; while Barangay Bantinan and Canabuan are found along Marang River. Moreover, Barangay Tactac, Atbu, Malico, and Santa Rosa are located on mountaintops in the southern division of the municipality.
